Lafftur- do you still visit here?
It is your thread about your thoughts on the church though it seems to have been taken over by argument over scripture.
best wishes

(1) Should I take your silence as your acknowledgement to the below, or (2) would you like me to open a new thread in BDF for you? @brighthouse98 I see that some cannot stand Bible discussions that happen in Miscellaneous.

What law is Jesus talking about here that would remain until recreation?
(Matthew 5:18)

I'd say that the Law is the same whether in the old covenant, the tablets, or the new, the Christ. The Law determines/separates His righteousness and sins, and He cannot change it.

If you do not agree, then I'll have further questions if your heart is willing to answer them.

As if.... the fact that the twisting & butchering of the Word are done by the Church's members weren't a reason enough for a church upgrade xD

It is your thread about your thoughts on the church though it seems to have been taken over by argument over scripture.

Ahaha. Look. It's like she couldn't say anything, so she reacted with thumbs downs. I suppose I spoke truthfully. God knows all hearts.

Church should be your family that you live life with. There is a need for the weekly meeting where the Word is preached and this should be the main centering focal point of the gathering together to hear the prophetic word of God preached. Then there are many other meetings and outreaches to be involved in throughout the week and ministering to one another in love should be our daily life. Most of our closest friends should be from our local church. That will include many opportunities for ministry besides a Sunday Sermon. However that Sunday Sermons should be a time to hear from God is a unique way.

That we need preachers who make that sermon their priority and deliver a message that has been prayed over for many hours and preachers that give themselves wholly to the prayer and the word of God is God's method as explained in the New Testament. We need to apply that method. The problem comes when preachers do not give themselves to prayer and the study of the Word and their preaching ministry is weak. No wonder someone would look elsewhere for a Word from the Lord.
In earlier years, many people were uneducated, illiterate, and with scant sources of information. With the invention of the printing press the first printed Bible in 1455 was in Latin. You had to be a Catholic priest in order to have access to a Bible. As a matter of fact, according to Foxe's Book of Martyrs (first published in 1563), the Catholic Church forbade the possession of a Bible by lay people. Violaters were severely punished. The Catholic Church was and is corrupt. The Vatican is the richest organization in the world. If they represented the real Church, they would have used all of their accumulated wealth to feed the starving and provide better living conditions for the poor. The point is that ignorant people have through the ages gathered together in buildings to get relgious information from "informed" individuals.
Presently, we are living in the " Information Age". Most people are literate, educated, and have an incredible number of different sources of information concerning the Bible and its content. No longer are we dependent on individuals to dispel truths. If you are truly a born again Christian, you would hunger for truth and do your own research as well.
I am in favor of getting together with other Christians at a set time and place to worship together, discuss truths, encourage each other, and display the love which binds all true Christians in the family of God. My concern is for those that get paid lavishly for their service to the Lord. I keep thinking what the Bible says about receiving your reward on earth instead of in Heaven. There are some local Churches where members are employed elsewhere and devote their own personal time and money to maintaining the building, providing for functions, and sending the rest of the money collected to missions throughout the world. Money collected and how dispersed is posted every month.

yes the received support.
I know that they received temporary lodging and food in their travels. Did they receive a steady income and their own place of residence paid for by the Christians of that time? I know that in Acts 4: 34-35 the early Christians sold their possessions and distributed the money among themselves so that no one was wanting. We need Church buildings for large congregations and pastors to maintain them and schedule activities for their use on a full time basis if the congregation so desires. I just think that both the Church buildings and salaries should be modest and not extravagant.

Also in Acts it goes on to say they met in each others homes, house churches, and they invited the presence of the Lord to be among them.
There is a ministry,
"Church without walls international"- cwowi.org , that promotes this Biblical practice of worship. John Fenn heads it, and he has many brief and very good you tube videos of teachings, try them and take it to the Lord for His guidance.
It was when Constantine became a Christian, if he did at all, that he created a "church" based on the roman form of government, where the head of the "church" is venerated, not the Lord, and they con you into believing if you want to get to heaven you have to go through them. Any of them that end with "ism" are to be avoided.

constantines conversion was more of a political move because there were lots of christians so he kinda thought if he could bribe them with fancy church buildings they would support his empire. With the tithes and offerings.

wheras before everyone just met in each others homes no one building was set aside for worship. The. you get all these fancy cathedrals being built. I mean they are lovely and awe inspiring, but not always necessary. Also the cost of upkeep is bad when times are tough

I’ve been pondering......”church “ has to change....like a new computer gets “upgrades” all the time....

God wants to “upgrade” His church...

Imagine 1 or 2 acres of land and there are little huts/cabins/booths specifically for....Prayer, Healing, Sermon, Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Praise, Worship, Salvation, Food, Clothing, water baptism, Word of Prophecy, etc.

Church has to break out of the walls and all the structure and focus more on the needs of the people and how God wants to supply all the needs in one Sunday meeting....it’s NOT about just listen to the pastor and all eyes on the pastor.......it’s about God and all His people....

Our dear loving Father wants to love His children and meet our needs and pour His love in us and on us....healing us and drawing us close to Him!

Instead of coming to church and only getting a sermon, you can actually get all of the above!

What would an “Upgrade” of Church be to you?......:love:(y)
What the church needs is to return to the old Bible way.
It is not about pleasing the people, it is about just preaching the Gospel.
"Up grading" has lead to all the false teaching and entertaining that is called worship today.

More like meeting together in His name and inviting Him to come minister to each of us as He desires?

Why not just follow the example of Jesus.
There were times he set and conversed/discussed with many and times he sat and taught and many listened and learned.
There is evidence Paul followed this example.
