A friend recently told me that the book of Revelation frightened her. I am so in love with God (Allah to some Christians) that I feel I have righteous fear of God. The punishment I receive I will have earned. I spent many years in a denomination where shouty pastors did their best to put terror of God in our hearts. I don't think that was his intention.

I havent read it for that reason. But I will eventually as I endeavor to get through the other books. Every book Ive read so far has surprised me in that I had expectations and then it exceeded them. I do have a fear of God. I fear a life without Him.

It's scary but amazing at the same time. The most memorable part of Revelation is (for me) the four horsemen of the apocalypse. 💀

reading it used to make me sad that so many would be punished.

but, now, looking at the evil, evil world ( and i am nowhere near righteous as i should be), and the sadness that i still feel is now backed up with understanding why God will do what He has to do.

because this world in it's current shape is unfixable.

No. Because i am a Christian..

Don't call God allah if some do they are very mistaken..

Those who disbelieve God should be in fear of God.. But those who have come to know and embrace the Love of God revealed through the Gospel of Jesus and the Atonment of the Jesus have had that fear removed and have come

1 John 4:
17 "Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. {18} There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. {19} We love him, because he first loved us."

The whole point of Christianity is Jesus taking the punishement we deserve out of Love for us to save us from such judgement.. Of course in this world we are subject to worldly suffering.. We often face the consequences for our sins in this world..

Not being snotty here. Whose fault is "the fall"? I've seen Eve blamed. I think that is lame. Isn't Satan responsible for our state? I fail and sin but according to Jesus repentance draws God's forgiveness.

I'm blessed by the book every time I read it.
Jesus promised me that.
Chapter 1
"3Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. 4John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; 5And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."

I understand why it would frighten someone. There are many judgements coming upon the people on the earth. This will be far beyond anything that has occured in history since the great flood.

However, anyone who wishes to get past that fear and learn why, should listen to these two short messages.
If you have a question after listening to them, please don't hesitate to ask me.
Blessings,
H&H

one might think if Revelation troubled them, so would Daniel, Ezekiel, parts of Jeremiah and Isaiah, Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, Jude, and if you're an avid reader Enoch.

for myself, it's a puzzle. not just any puzzle, but a puzzle holding absolute "Truths."

those Books have allowed myself to look at the current condition and state of mind this World we live in exists. and being able to recognize what is trying to be hidden reveals many clues. but with all of the Clues connecting the Prophecies, the reality is like a closed door that has been kicked wide open. and looking through you will find the Promises of God for every Believer and denier. and that alone is both joyful and nerve wracking because time is short and so many lives need each one of us to introduce them to God. which makes us understand we have a serious responsibility here. and if we aren't trying to bring souls to God, what good are we to the Kingdom of God?

i look at it like just mentioning who Jesus is or telling them God loves them might just be the thing that if they deny God now, it will cause them to choose to be beheaded rather than take the MOB. that way, it is a Salvation point of impact.

Not at all. As soon as I got saved, the book of Revelation was the first book I read. Cause obviously I wanted to skip to the last book to see how it ends ;)

When I was growing up I remember us reading the Exodus story and I was enjoying it.

I am not scared by the brutality of it, I enjoy it. Just take a look at the world today and you should welcome it as well. Bring on the brimstone.

It's a beautiful Book, one that I have read probably into the 1000's over my years as a Christian.

God the Father, gave it to the Lord Jesus to give to His Church to let us know events in the last days (particularly the last three and a half years of this age, the Great Tribulation) in detail (no pretribulation advent and rapture there: The pretribulation advent and rapture is a satanic lie that the Church would not suffer during the GT put into the Church by the Devil, even as the he put into the heart and minds of the apostles/disciples the evil seed that the Messiah would not suffer and die).

It is VITAL reading for EVERY Christian, and the Lord want EVERY Christian to understand it and respond to it (and especially taking into account Rev 22v18,19). Rev 1v3, 22v7.

I think that’s the best approach to Revelation due to it’s complexity. Definitely not wise to try to interpret it all literally, but some parts are probably literal. I didn’t really read Revelation for s long tome for that reason. There’s a lot of Old Testament style language in Revelation called apocalyptic language. I think if that much is understood then it’s a helpful beginning.

I agree with that. I see that the style of Revelation differs from the style of all of the other books in the NT and reads more like an OT book to me, especially Isaiah.

The book of Revelation should frighten everyone who is not a true believer in Christ: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8)

It is there as a warning to all those who do not obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Believing in Allah is not the same as believing on the Lord Jesus, who is the Savior of the world, and who died for your sins and rose again for your justification.

No true Christian would call our Heavenly Father Allah. Whoever those "Christians" are I would correct.

I find comfort in it, total peace - not fear.

First it's beautiful to see the picture of Jesus in Glory. Second, it's a comfort to know that no matter what this world throws at us, in the end Jesus reigns.

Bad guys loose, good wins out.

That is a comfort for the world, a true revelation of our Lord and Savior. I don't understand why anyone would feel fear, unless they aren't ready to stand before God and man, as blood bought children of God.

My View
If you are a Born Again Christian -----The Book of Revelation is not a frightening Book ---it is actually a blessed book

Revelation 1:3 NIV
3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

The Book of Revelation is all about God wanting all His Human Creation Saved to live with Him eternally ----and to honor His Covenant with the Israelites ----God actually Protects His Israelits from Harm during the Tribulation ---these are the 144,000 who belong to the 12 tribes of Israel and God marks them for His own -----

The book is about freeing this earth of Satan and His Tribe ---destroying wickedness ---and to have peace and harmony in His New Earth ---where there will be no more tears ---no Wars ---No sickness or disease -----

The book is about God wanting to eradicate sin -and wickedness -----Some people have very hardened hearts toward God and His Word and God brings His wrath upon unbelievers to get them to see they need a Saviour -----some come to that during the Tribulation and some still refuse to believe it -----

God never abandons us ----it is US who abandon God ------and sin has consequences ------the consequences are spiritually being separated from God forever -------

The devastation that is coming upon this earth is horrific and deadly but only unbelievers will experience this ---they have chosen to follow Satan and his demons all by themselves and refuse to receive the one and only Person who can free them from experiencing this wrath ------

I am a pre trib rapture believer ---No believers will be here when God unleashes His wrath upon this earth =====
His goal is to make unbelievers come to know they can't save themselves ----Believers are already saved ------so for God to leave all believers here to realize they need a Saviour to be saved is futile ----as they are already saved ----The 144'000 Israelites are marked by God to preach the gospel all over the world to the unbelievers so they can choose to be saved ----

-there are 2 Witnesses also who Preach the Gospel as well ----Many believe this is Elijah and Moses as they appeared on the Mountain during Jesus transfiguration

You reap what you sow ------God wants all people to spend eternity with Him -----God wants no one to perish but we have free choice to choose who we want to serve ---Satan or God ------many choose Satan and no sin can enter God's holy kingdom ------

Fear comes from Satan Folks not God ---so people who choose to reject Jesus will feel great fear and rightly so when reading the book of Revelation -----but for True Christians it brings a blessing as we know that there will be peace and harmony in the New Earth we will reside in forever with God at our side ---

The Book of Revelation is God's Love story to save as many souls as he can ------so it depends on what side of the coin your on as to how your going to view it ------

Fear is Satan's hook ----Love is God's Hook ---we choose ----

what’s this part here ?

( Allah to some Christians)

do you realize a Christian cannot possibly refer to the false god allah because he claims God has no son , whereas Christian’s all believe in Christ, Gods only begotten son ?

the name is Jesus and there is salvstion in no other name

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if a Muslim is claiming Jesus is Gods son it’s considered blasphemy and punishable by death

if a Christian denies Gods son they cannot be saved

the two faiths are diametrically opposed

“ allah” is a false diety that swears God has no son

God sent his only begotten son Jesus who is Christ into the world so we can know him.

if many Christian’s are naming god “ allah” it means they aren’t Christian but Muslim
