I see chocolate croissants but I am only interested in the plain ones. There may be others,
but I do not go to stores that have that sort of selection. Costco? Not for me.

Some stores make croissants into sandwiches for sale, like egg salad with lettuce etc?

But I rarely buy that sort of thing any more. I am retired though ha! I am going back to work part time on Tuesday.

My son was on the rain and he served right alongside Muslims and Sihks and it will never an issue so this idea that anyone who isn't Christian hates America is patently absurd

I remember there was a certain historical German guy who tried to paint all of Germany's problems on a certain non-Christian demographic of people and that worked out good didn't it?

Okay so that is pretty good but we also need to factor the average monthly salary here.

‘An average salary in Italy or Greece is $1500 a month so you can imagine how they would feel when they spend $200 to fill up their car. And when I travel with a car there, I have to fill it up at least once a week x4 = $800 in gas alone.
That’s why theyre all like “turn off your car and ac when you’re idle” But why? “Cos you’re wasting gas”. But I’m an American tourist. :D

Also imagine trying to buy electronics like a $1000 iPhone with that salary

I have never been to Europe. I made close to twice as much when I worked full time (unless you mean Euros). That was after taxes and all else was taken out... things I paid into pretty much the entirety of my adult working life which are supporting me now (such as CPP), and also employmnt insurance which I also collected on, plus all kinds of tax breaks for being laid off because of covid closures almost three years ago, and then got medical coverage also... because I had just turned sixty five and gotten a cancer diagnosis, so the timing was perfect for me. How's your medical system there? If you were hospitalized for over a month, would it bankrupt you? And back to this employment thing... now that I am all healed after my diagnosis and three (yikes, yes, three!) surgeries, God's timing is impeccable to have me called back to work part time at this time! Thank you Lord :love: Although my initial reaction when my boss called to ask me was, no way, Jose! LOL

I saw your diagnosis a few months ago and I prayed for you because I felt your hardship.
So glad to hear you are okay now.

Medical in Europe is free and that’s the good thing about that. in greece or italy or many other European countries the hospitals are free.
Private hospitals exist, but state or free hospitals are the best and in fact the private ones sent patients to the state ones.

In us if you have health insurance then it’s almost free with small copay payments around $20 per visit.
‘And if you don’t have insurance there’s usually Medicare which is free for people with low income.

Lol. What we won't do for the things we love. I'm ok with generics on most things but I will not skimp on toilet paper under any circumstances.

I agree sarcasm is harder to receive but it takes more ingenuity than puns. Puns are very low hanging fruit.

All is well though they are keeping their eye on me :giggle:

That is par for the course for five years following diagnosis/treatment :D

Yeah, free health care rocks (y) I was over 35 days hospitalized for this. Plus chemo and radiation every day for
over a month (Monday to Friday only) and then more chemo after the first surgery, which they cut short due to
the severity of one of the side effects (neuropathy in my feet), and months and months and months of wound
care, ugh, it was my social life LOL. And they give you all your other meds for free while in the hospital also :D

Yeah, there does not seem to be a gradual increase in the items that go up in price... just major jumps. Although i have to say, Walmart is great for online ordering, not marking up anything just because you are shopping that way, and they will upgrade something and not charge for the upgrade. Or at least, they used to. Have gotten so much free stuff that way it is a wonder they stay in business LOL.

Two examples: ordered pack of four boxes of kleenex. Not in stock. Got pack of 16 boxes. Charged for 4.

Ordered cheeses. Told no (desired) cheese in stock. Cheese put in twice. Both times, no charge.

There is no Walmart very close to me; my daughter started ordering groceries for me shortly after I was laid off work, so she was getting all those good deals LOL. I would drive out to her place and pick up my groceries, which gave us a chance to visit as well. At some point I gave her a wad of money for all she had bought me, not that anyone was keeping track, but she did that for maybe half a year, and then I took over my own online shopping through Instacart. I think she was doing it directly? Anywho, Instacart has been great for those days when I was not keen on going out for any number of reasons, although the selection process is not as good as in person shopping. It's also great for ordering the heavy bulky stuff that may be challenging for someone like me to transport from my car to my apartment... and you know, ain't it a fact that you can go into a store thinking you only need one or two things but most often end up filling your cart anyways? :unsure::LOL:

Online ordering does add service fee and delivery charge... they sometimes offer free delivery
or some kind of discount but then the fees and extras combine to make it all the same anyway.
