This is not whataboutism. If the application of justice seems incredibly one sided then you will force the country into a civil war.
You have Maxine Waters clearly inciting people to commit harassment crimes, no consequences at all, then you have a guy on the other side and he is sued for $4 trillion. This is very clearly the takeaway from many people that we are being ruled by hypocrites and justice has been perverted. We have many people committing heinous felonies being released in 24 hours and yet we have others who have committed a misdemeanor, harming no one and causing no damage and yet they are kept in the DC Gulag.
We have a guy in NY terrorizing the city by chopping up a McDonald's with an axe and he is let out the next day, Paul Pelosi has a date with a homosexual prostitute go south and this guy will go to prison for life. This isn't whataboutism, this is the discussion of this thread. The lesson from what we are seeing is that the country is being split in two, justice is perverted, and the only people who get prosecuted for slander are those who slander the wrong people.
I have seen some video of some very bad people who I agree, sedition. None of those people have been charged. The guy with the pipe bomb, sedition. Ray Epps, that is sedition. Some BLM activist who filmed a whole lot of what was going on clearly had a history of sedition. Even the guy who put his feet on Nancy Pelosi's desk, if you want, he can be charged with sedition.
Those four appear to be two FBI plants, one BLM activist and one right wing anarchist.
If you want to charge the chubacka guy with sedition as well go for it.
But to my observation all the ones they have charged that were Trump supporters were stooges, fools, and naive freedom fighters who didn't have any business getting into the ring.
If you are going to prosecute them for sedition then it must be fully transparent and just. They need to get good legal counsel and you need to prove more than simply trespassing. Let's see the text messages, emails and phone calls that indicated they wanted to overthrow the government. What the government is doing is despicable. Conditions in the prison are despicable. Access to legal counsel and the transparency of the process has been deplorable. The impression we are all seeing is that these are not fair trials. Why hasn't the guy with the pipe bomb been arrested? Why is Ray Epps not in jail? Why is the BLM activist who filmed everything not in jail.
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. If the people who appear to be the ringleaders and the most guilty are not arrested, there will be an equal and opposite reaction. If grandmothers and grandfathers who have never committed a crime, have no communications that would indicate insurrection and they are being held up as the criminals, then that also will have an equal and opposite reaction. The country must see that the process is just, that the application of the law is fair and without political bias, and the message must be that truth prevails and you can trust the government.
That has not been the message and as a result no one (other than you) cares about Jan 6th and it is simply acting to split the country in half. Clearly this is the main issue the Democrats are pushing for the Midterms, let's see how that works out for them.
Can you imagine that Paul Pelosi picks up a male prostitute, brings him home, gets into a fight and within hours Biden is blaming January 6th? This is why the entire country sees this for what it is, a pathetic joke put on by the criminal Biden family and his corrupt administration.

But if you weren't on a government controlled platform like Alex Jones then they will sue you for $4 trillion dollars.

You don't have first amendment rights on a private owned social media site. They can filter content at their own discretion

You missed the entire point. DHS has no right to be telling private companies to censor people. If they were being directed by the government to censor then the DHS was in violation of the constitution. The evidence is supporting the allegation that the "private companies" were acting as a proxy of the US government to censor constitutionally protected speech.
As for the trillion thing, they're trying to permanently bankrupt him to make sure he never does this again.

Don't care what their motive is, justice is blind, trying to bankrupt a person is not justice.
If someone was forced to move ten times and they lost money and had suffering as a result the damage might be $1million, the punitive damages $5million and the total judgement $6 million. Regardless of whether or not we agree that Alex Jones is responsible for what some looney does who listens to his podcast everyone should agree that the Looney also bears some responsibility. So I would have no problem with Alex Jones getting a $6 million judgement and the looney also getting a $6 million judgement doubling the overall judgement.
But throwing a person into solitary confinement because of a misdemeanor, or releasing a guy with 30+ felonies back onto the streets to kill someone, these are not just verdicts. Giving someone a $4 trillion dollar lawsuit over something that should be $6 million is not just.
Making someone 100% responsible for the actions committed by another person is not a just verdict.
One eye for one eye means the judgement must fit the damages. There is a scene in the Godfather where this guy wants the Godfather to kill a boy that had sex with his daughter. The Godfather replies, your daughter is still alive, that is not justice. But he does agree to go beat this kid up and put him in the hospital sending a message you don't mess with this guys daughter.
So yes, if this person or persons can demonstrate that they lost $1 trillion then sure I could see with punitive damages that the judgement would be $4 trillion.
Likewise, if they can prove that Alex Jones made $1 trillion off of this lie, then $4 trillion would certainly be in the ballpark of what justice should be.
I suspect that for every dollar he made during shows with that lie he lost more than a dollar. I have heard of Alex Jones for two years but never wanted to watch him and that was because of this very thing, I heard he was saying that Sandy Hook was made up. That sounded far too wing nut for me. (kind of like the earth is flat or the moon landing was staged)
The idea is to make sure he never does this again, as he has displayed zero remorse for what he did.
