Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. (Romans 13:10 NASB)

It depends...if for example the only way to find out where someone was hidden and possibly dying was to torture the kidnapper than go for it. If people have moral qualms about it, call me, i dont.

So the ends justifies the means?

Also, which matters most, our moral qualms, or Gods?

The Bible says "Do unto to others as you would have them do unto you". I don't think anyone would want to be tortured, so we shouldn't do that to someone else. Prison is already a hard time. You can't do anything you want in prison. Torturing people means someone has to do it aswell. Wouldn't someone be wicked to torture someone else. I don't think a born again Christian could even think of really torturing someone else. It makes the people who do it wicked.

Lord, grant that I am NEVER placed in a position where my opinion on this matters.

Hmmm. Sometimes I would say it is necessary, but the type of torture ultimately decides if it's justified or not. Causing temporary discomfort by waterboarding or some other method may be morally permissible in certain situations, but things like the medieval rack wouldn't.

If torture could reveal the location of a hidden nuclear bomb that a terrorist was hiding, would you forbid torturing a Muslim terrorist, and risk the lives of thousands or millions of innocent human beings in New York City or other places where a Muslim terrorist might try to detonate a nuclear device? Would you try to be nice and kind to a Muslim terrorist who is intent on murdering millions of innocent Americans (Russians, Israelis, Italians, etc.)?
Is torture absolute forbidden under all circumstances? Do not human lives matter?
Is the right of the terrorist not to suffer torture more important than the rights of millions of American citizens not to be killed in a nuclear explosion?
Scripture neither forbids nor commands torture. Common sense says we should not try to protect a terrorist who is going to explode a nuclear bomb and not torture him because his feelings might be hurt. Short of killing him, torture is in this circumstance totally justified.

Now this, i don't understand. When it comes to a teaching about Mary or some other element of the Catholic Faith, people say oh i can't make a decision because it is not supported in the Bible. Yet in a topic like this people are willing to go with common sense or their own feelings when making their decision because the Bible doesnt mention it. Why is this?

muslims didn't do 9-11.
arabs are being dehumanized and demonized.
if we don't care about them why should anyone care about you?

the torture chamber is FOR YOU. dont you get it?

STOP IT.

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

TORTURE IS WRONG and goes Against GOD's Will and HIS right to punish.

if the millions of "innocent" are killed then they will be in Heaven with God.

we are kind to people who preach spiritual death to people, what is the difference to a Muslim Terrorist?

they kill the body, the other (if believed by the hearer) kills the soul and leads people to Hell.

Human fleshly bodies do not matter only eternal souls and dedication to God.

torture is never justified. but neither is Sin but people try and justify both.

Do you fear GOD or do you Fear Men?

Lord what has the world come to?

Luke 12:4-5
New King James Version (NKJV)
4 “And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!

Stop what? I'm not doing or saying anything wrong.
Most Muslims are not terrorists.
But it is a lie to say no terrorists are Muslims.
The people who did 9/11 were Muslims who did their bad works in the name of Islam.
Muhammad himself did wars in the name of Islam.
We should not expect some Muslims not to do wars, when the founder of the Islamic
religion was a warrior.
As contrasted with Jesus Christ, Who is the Prince of Peace.
It's a historical fact that Muhammed the Prophet of Islam was a Warrior.
Your quote from Martin Niemoller is totally unjustified.
Muslims are not being persecuted in America.
Christians are being persecuted in Muslim countries.
Try not being an ostrich.
We all should wake up. Terror came to America, September 11, 2001.
It could come again.
There is no zone where it could not happen.
It is no surprise that many Christians in America believe in a pre tribulation rapture, because they can't imagine having to suffer for Christ.
No, Romans 13 says the government bears not the sword in vain.
It is part of our national defense if the CIA or military uses torture techniques to obtain information that could save lives. No one is actually killed.
Torture is not wrong. Not obtaining information is wrong. If a Islamic terrorist or other terrorist who comes in the name of another religion, whatever religion, even of Christianity or whatever, it is not wrong to torture that individual if their intention is to use nuclear weapons.
It may not actually happen. But if it ever does, and they didn't use torture, and the bomb went off, we would always wonder whether we really should have used force and coercive interrogations to obtain information to prevent an atomic explosion.

no they were not.
your own government did 9-11 so they could clamp you in irons with your permission through THE PATRIOT ACT.
wake up.

and look how you are giving your approval to torture...right on schedule.
didn't you read 1984 in school or had that already gone down the memory hole?

For the record, people in The USA believe that 9/11 was Muslim Extremist. It matters alot. I don't think anyone seriously believes that our government did that. It's not good for you to just sit there and speculate that all those people died because of our government. By the way, they got Osama Bin Laden! And people here really believe he was behind the terror attack. That kind of belief is not popular in the USA. If our government wanted something they would vote in the House and Senate.

this is straight from the KGB dialectic handbook scott.
it's nothing new.
they always get the people to agree in advance: the eugenicists always do it like this.

first we kill the handicapped and the unfit...then the homosexuals, then the unemployed and so on.
then we start our own breeding programs (the lucky gene club).

this time around its the Arabs. bad bad people who are not quite human.
next it's you and me.
way to help out scott.

the US is the only country left on earth who doesn't know the truth of 9-11.
i wonder why?
of course that kind of belief isn't popular.

haven't you been told over and over and over that arabs did it?
you were psychologically prepared for that years before it happened.
SHOCK & AWE.

turn off your tv PROGRAMMING jonathan.

The Patriot Act was signed sealed and delivered before 9-11 happened jonathan.
