A friend bought an e-bike but she had to go a fair way (in a car) to collect it lol

She got a staff discount and encouraged me to check it out but I said nope still way too expensive and plus I still had to drive there to get it serviced when its not local.

I expect if they come down in price more peeps would have them ALSO if cycleways were safer but at present you pretty much risking your life riding on the road on an e-bike or any bike.
Walmart.com has them. They will deliver them

How bout them rickshaws/human wheelbarrows?

I read Black Beauty and can imagine what it must have been like for horses back in the day being beasts of burden/transportation

Here bullocks used to tow logs to the sawmill. If they werent driven down dams. Then tramways got built and tractors. Nowadays we have diesel trucks, cant imagine they'll be electrified. Although some railways are now electrified (but only 'light rail')

I kind of like them rollercoasters/gondolas though. How would skiers get up the mountain without an electric ski lift? Someone at the grindstone, going round and round? lol

My dad is a transport junkie, I suspect its just a male thing but why are men so obssessed with cars, buses, trains, boats, trams, etc?

What do you think of electric cars?
Impractical:
Limited range
Recharge time
Lack of support infrastructure
limited Battery life

Any particular make?
Tesla seems to be the leader.

Anything to be aware of?
When the battery needs to be replaced, you're essentially buying another car. Fast charging the battery DAMAGES IT, and reduces it's life.
And where will you find a "Filling station" in the real world.

Hybrid cars run on electricity until they reach a certain speed and they run on gasoline. I hear they get about 50 miles a gallon

I guess its assumed you'll charge the electric car at home overnight before you go anywhere
There are charging stations at car parks and supermarkets now. But I havent actually seen many on the roads or drive or even been a passenger in one yet.

In a compact city, maybe, but it wont solve traffic congestion, the issue is that there are now too many cars on the road rather than the emissons question. And its the roads that are unsafe and damaging the environment from ppl driving too fast drunk and killing each other thats more of the problem.

So far not heard any rave reviews, but ppl need to be honest. I think the ones that can afford to buy them might boast or think they some kind of status symbol, but cost wise, wouldnt their electricty bill be higher? I suppose it will depend where you live.
And whats to stop people draining electricity from someone elses meter and not paying for it. Or will it become like free wifi.

You can only do that in winter. In summer the lawnmower keeps running over the extension cord and shorting it out. :p
