Psalm 1:1-2
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Thoughts on Today's Verse....
I get to choose which sources of information I feed my mind. But this privilege and freedom is also a responsibility. God longs to bless me, but that blessing remains dormant until my heart delights in knowing and doing his will.
My Prayer...
Wondrous Creator, just as you fashioned such a beautiful world and put me together in my mother's womb, I also ask that you create in me a desire to know your truth and an insight in how to live that truth. I know your Holy Spirit is in me to help me in this journey, but I want so much to please you and bless you because of all the ways you have blessed me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Love, Walter and Debbie
Do you think in the ot and New Testament is there a difference in the people ? Did they have spiritual rebirth in the ot ?
The reason I ask is do you think unspiritual sinners , the same thing you would teach a new born child of God ?
at the reason I bring this up is
“knowing this, that
the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is
contrary to sound doctrine; according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.”
1 Timothy 1:9-11 KJV
Do we want to meditate on that law constantly ?
“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
Romans 3:19-20 KJV
OR was God foretelling that he would come and speak his true words and laws someday Lon after that law was given ?
“
Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for
a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.
My righteousness is near;
my salvation is gone forth, and
mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall
wait upon me, and
on mine arm shall they trust.”
Isaiah 51:4-5 KJV
I’m wormdering if there’s a point where the old ends and new begins ?
“The
law and the prophets were until John: ( ot )
since that time ( nt) the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”
Luke 16:16 KJV
So you have the law of Moses
“Now we know that
what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that
every mouth may be stopped, and
all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for
by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
Romans 3:19-20 KJV
And then you have the law of Christ the gospel that reveals the righteousness of God To us over time and patience d pursuit and belief
“For I
am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the
Jew first, and also to the Greek. For
therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
Romans 1:16-17 KJV
Gould we meditate on the old terrement law like they did ? Or the gospel like Jesus and the apostles taught us to do ?
This testament
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believ
eth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
John 5:24 KJV
or this one
“For
as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that
continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
But that
no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for,
The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.”
Galatians 3:10-12 KJV
Notice the contrast with the gospel
For I
am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the
Jew first, and also to the Greek. For
therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
Romans 1:16-17 KJV
a when we read the ot we always should look from the gospel back at it because we have something they never had and it lets us see things for what they are. by looking from the position of a believer of the gospel we can see clearly that Gods plans were slowly unfolding and the Old Testament was leading us to the New Testament
