But when you read actual CRT texts you find that they say racism and disparate racial outcomes are the result of complex, changing, and often subtle social and institutional dynamics, rather than explicit and intentional prejudices of individuals. CRT also rejects the idea that race is in any way biological, race is a social construct and in reality there is only one race. CRT recognizes that racism is codified in law, embedded in social norms, and woven into public policy. All of which can be documented. It also notes that most people don't recognize the undercurrent of racism in our society because most are raised to not see it and that is no one's fault. Roy Brooks the originator of CRT wrote that the only way to overcome the racial problems in America is for everyone...EVERYONE to sit down and have an adult conversation about confronting the legal and social policies that are the root of the problem.
