Im speaking truth. It is a gift, yet you condition it on availing oneself, thats making it something you earned, a work of yours. Also you deprive Christ of His saving efficacy by His death, by believing people He died for can still be lost if they dont avail themselves, am I correct ?

Did a little back search on this thread and see that for some reason some people don't like some of what Calvin 'believed' and/or taught. My understanding was influenced to a great degree by Charles Spurgeon. Maybe people are critical of that. When I pray for the Holy Spirit to guide me it seems He does.
Maybe your understanding is better than mine, and since I also looked to see what date, you say you were saved, it seems you may have better insight. If you are just looking to debate Scripture, I am probably not the best to debate with, as my Scripture recollecting and knowledge is not that good.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Two things, You condition salvation on what man does, which is woks salvation and a denial if grace salvation, and apparently you deny that Christs death in and of itself converts sinners unto God
The key to unlock the mystery of this verse is "if any man hear my voice". I call your attention to John 10:26-29.
Yep, if you condition salvation on the action of you openeing the door, thats works. Now if someone hears knocking and opens the door, they must have already had life in them in order to hear understand and then perform the act of opening the door. So they were already saved with life in them.

Glad to see you make a post that is in line with the Bible. This verse sounds like verse to use with communion. As I said if you want to argue, you should find someone that is more familiar with Scripture.

You are wrongly understanding. You are making 'assumptions'. How would you know anything about someone else's relationship with Jesus. You are certainly coming across as though you have some 'special' insight.

It is easier to be an excessive fanatic than it is to be consistently faithful, because God causes an amazing humbling of our religious conceit when we are faithful to Him.

Duh I have been posting what I believe makes me a Christian and anybody else who could be one. The fact of the matter is you have been posting contrary to the saving death of Christ.
Its not very humble to think that Christs death alone didnt produce saving effects to them He died for. But that it takes one to avail themselves to accomplish salvation for themselves. Thats pride and self exaltation.

If thats what you want to call it, it still boils down to you having a Christ dishonoring view, and elevating yourself.
That's the gospel truth. If the sin done to our Lord Jesus doesn't make people sorry for sinning against him, nothing will. And as we grow in Christ and begin to experience some of what he suffered (for doing right), it's a humbling experience to respond to persecution with the love that Christ did. It's a pride crusher for sure.
The point is, if people aren't saved by repenting for having sinned against (God Christ), his sacrifice is meaningless.
Being "chosen" on the basis of something other than faith in Christ (God), is unscriptural. Faith in him + nothing.

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Did His being put to death enough to bring about the desired effects, to bring People to God. The word bring prosagō:

to draw near to, approach
Its just like Ps 65:4
Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.
That blessed man is someone Christ died for.
