because if we restrict Jesus to the son alone...some other bible verses will be a trap for us....For instance Revelation 19:11-16

"Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He [e]had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in [f]fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a [g]sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:
KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS."

Now this being has been reffered to as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords so we need to know who he is literally and again revelations tells us who he is....Revelation 17:12-14

“The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. 14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” ....now upto this point we know who the lamb is Jesus Christ...now this next verse is a twist now this is why I belive that Jesus is not restricted to the Father alone.....1st Timothy 6:13-17

" I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only [e]Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen."

so Jesus will manifest in his own time he who is the only potentate (Potentate means a person with great power and auhority), the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords (again this is the lamb) who alone has immortality, dwelling in an approchable light whom no man has seen or can see....now is the bible wrong, people saw the King of Kings , matter of fact they even touched him, but Paul is saying that no one has seen the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords....and its trrue we have not seen Jesus' Christ real form, what we saw was the image he chose to come in...This is what Jesus said...Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God but even hitler who we know his heart atleast, will see God according to revelations but they wont see him as the Father but in his capacity as the son but rev 22:3 we het to see who will see God, the pure in heart and their God is the lamb on the throne...Jesus is the son of God true, but we cant just restrict him to the son....we saw the son but we have never seen his true form as the Father....ponder on those verses...maybe we might learn something

Paul already said in numerous places that he believes God is the Father and he calls Jesus Lord. There’s another example of this in the verse below. God is the one in unapproachable light.

1 Timothy 6
13In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you 14to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.

but Jesus is God...the reason why he calls Jesus that way is because of the purpose of the son...but lets not deny the fact that Jesus is the King of Kings....everything points bck to the lamb on the throne in rev 22:3 ....its not just a coincidence that the lamb is on the throne ...the man Jesus, that's the son, the anointed one to save humans but after the work of salvation the son will be humbled but that doesnt mean that Jesus stops reigning as the Father....

This is the same paul who said this....

Romans 9:3-5

"For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my [a]countrymen according to the flesh, 4 who are Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises; 5 of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen."

according to the Flesh, christ became the son but he is still the eternally blessed God...and this is the same Pau; who said

1st Corinthians 8:5-6

"For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), 6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live." ...look i dont despute that Jesus is the son and Lord but he is also the the father....and lets not ignore the fact that the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords has never been seen....dont ignore that part..

You should also have pointed out that Paul -- by divine inspiration -- called Jesus "GOD" (THEOS) in 1 Timothy 3:16 KJB [which has been corrupted in every modern version, even though every Greek manuscript says "THEOS", or gives its abbreviation in the majuscules (MSS in capitals)].

And without controversy
great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifest in the flesh,
justified in the Spirit,
seen of angels,
preached unto the Gentiles,
believed on in the world,
received up into glory.

What does "God was manifest in the flesh" mean? Does it not mean that God presented Himself in human form as Jesus of Nazareth, and after He finished His sojourn on earth He was received up into Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father? So the Father is God, the Son is also God, and the Holy Spirit is also God. You cannot separate the deity of Christ from the Holy Trinity.

okay I dont know if youre getting it....I know Jesus is God but sonship has beginnings....Jesus is eternal but sonship has beginnings and that makes a trinitarial school of thought weak...This is what Jesus says in Luke 19:10

" For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” ....and what was lost was not only those who were on earth at that time or who would come at the future , he also came for those who were dead before he had come....the son of man...I want us to get that point first...so what did he do after he died, first he went to the lowest parts of the earth , but in his auhority as the son...because that was the purpose of the son of God...the only way God had to reconcile himself to us was if he had to lower himself to have the glory of a son of God....lets look at .... Ephesians 4:7-10 ...ill use the greek version and its translations

Translation "
"but to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. 8 for he says: he ascended on high, he imprisoned captivity, [a] he gave gifts to men. 9 And it ascended, what is it if it did not also descend to the lower parts of the earth? 10 This is the one who descends and the one who ascends above all the heavens, that he may repay all things."...

Now we all know that the son of God descended after his death to hell because he was going to save the lost, but look at the scene on the Cross where we see Jesus' true form as the Father and the promise he made to the thief, ...Luke 23:42-43

KJV translation

And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Now when he tells him today, it is that specific day that thief would be in paradise with Jesus....but Jesus was going to hell that day....and he only ascended once into heaven, 10 days before pentecost....so how is he tellingthe thief that that day he would be in paradise with him...?

And before anyone suggests that paradise was a separation of Good people from bad people in the lowere parts of the world (as someone once suggested) Paul tells us where Paradise is 2nd corinthians 12:2-4

"
I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)

4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter."

so that thief that same day was with Jesus in Paradise ....that same day that Jesus was still preaching for the souls who had been lost before he had come....So his divinity allows him as God to be in Paradise and at the same tim be in HELL....his authority as the son was to save humanity...however his true form was shown on the cross by the promise to the thief.......The problem many people have in understanding...is that God can speak about himself as if he is speaking about another person....for example

1st Peter 1:10

"Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow."....so The spirit of Christ inspiring the old testament prophets told them of the sufferings of Christ, why is the spirit not saying that he was the one to suffer but Christ....if you look at the suffering servant for example, the Lord says through his servant isaiah that it was his will that his servant should suffer....he is not saying that he himself will suffer rather this other guy and yet it is still himself....and why is he doing this...because Christ showed Humilty...Philipians 2:5

Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to....and thats why he coulnt come as the Father. and thats why he prayed because he came in the form of a son a servant....Jesus is God but when he manifested himself in flesh he became the son of God....for just the purpose...when Jesus is praying he is in his servant form because although he is God.....

He couldnt come as the Father...it was only as a human could he die....Deutronomy 18:15-19

"“The Lord your God will give you a man who speaks for God like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him. 16 This is what you asked of the Lord your God at Sinai on the day of the meeting, when you said, ‘Do not let me hear the voice of the Lord my God again. Do not let me see this fire any more, or I will die.’ 17 And the Lord said to me, ‘They have spoken well. 18 I will give them a man who speaks for God like you from among their brothers. I will put My words in his mouth. And he will make known to them all that I tell him. 19 He will speak in My name. And I will punish whoever will not listen to him. "....He couldnt speak as the father to us....he had to empty himself as a servant to be ableto speak to us....He is speaking about Himself and yet he is speaking as if it's some one else....Jesus can be restricted to the son alone friends

Jesus was given authority by his Father to give eternal life:

John 17
2For You granted Him authority over all people, so that He may give eternal life to all those You have given Him.

Jesus was given authority by his Father to forgive sins:

Mark 2
10But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man,

The authority Jesus had was given to him:

Matthew 28
18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Precisely. That’s really what the Bible says, but it says so much more than that too. Anyway, that’s the gist of what I feel led by God to discuss in this thread so if there aren’t any questions I’ll begin checking out different threads.

so that means th

so that means if he was given authority he previously did not have it and that should tell us about this man Jesus...That authority was given to the man Jesus Christ....the man Jesus was not preexisting...but after conqering he was given all the authority....the man Jesus Christ....it is through that man that we get salvation and he was kept a mystery ...it was the mystery of salvation that This man would save humanity ...the son has no authority to judge but he has BEEN GIVEN the authority....God is judging the world by the MAN he Has appointed acts 17:30-31 ....Luke 1:34-35

"
Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."...that which was born was to be called the son of God...not God the son....the son of God....so he was given autority but as a man
Yeah, God wanted to make crystal clear not to believe the heresy that some spread that His Son wasn’t God. So He said it in such a way that you can’t twist and squirm some contrived way to say otherwise.

MATTHEW 1
23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

1 Jn 5:20:

We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Jesus in the flesh at the time from birth to death was still fully God.

He was 'self limiting'.. rather than a lesser being to the Father and Holy Spirit

Why?

Because like I posted earlier, He could have called a legion of angels to Himself and prevented all the suffering that came to Him.

He also said their is none greater in the Kingdom than John the Baptist. Yet He was Head over John. What does that say about Him?

And again 'the Father is greater than I'..

That is positional. Father at the time in heaven.. Jesus on earth in the flesh.

Not superiority. Because Jesus, after saying this ascends to be one with the Father.

There is no point where Jesus is no longer God.

Even at death, He descended to the lower parts of the earth and freed the holding place of dead saints, so they were resurrected. They were seen alive again.

Jesus then rose again.

As to Jesus being called Lord and not God.. that is just false.

Thomas did..and Jesus accepted the title.

Paul called Jesus God as Nehemiah stated.

Plus many other verses that mean Jesus Has fully God attributes.

I wonder if people lower Jesus' status so they can keep the doctrine of being equal with Him. Being like God themselves.

If He is equal to the Father, it puts a dagger in the heart of a believer being God.

One-off interpretation? And you claim to be a Christian? Shame on you for promoting heresies.
I don't think you're understanding 1 Timothy 3:16. It says "God was manifest in the flesh." It just means that God was shown in the flesh through everything Jesus Christ did. Christ being the head of the church, the church being the body of Christ, God is also manifest in the church. When people see us they should be able to "see" the manifestation of God.

Consider this in addition to the 1 Timothy 3:16 verse you provided:

Ephesians 5
29After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30for we are members of his body. 31“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” 32This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church.

Matt. 1:23 just shows the definition of Jesus' name, Immanuel.
