I’ve been here a while, haven’t seen a single person claim to be born saved.

Oh I see… This another display of your hatred for the gospel of grace isn’t it? I’ve seen plenty of that from you over the years.

Understand this folks.
There are many gospels of satan that claim the act of man earns favor or salvation. Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Satanism…
In other words, all false gospels for the religions of satan can be refined to works.

There is but one gospel that claims salvation is by grace: the divine influence upon the heart…through faith, which is a gift from God that no man may boast.

Let this sink in and let it be a warning to those who hate the gospel of grace. To hate the gospel of grace is to hate the only gospel that claims salvation is entirely of the Lord.

The believers of eternal salvation by their works do not care if their theory is not in harmony with the other scriptures, and claim that their actions to gain eternal salvation are not works.

All I can say to that is -----Satan has them in his grip and has twisted their minds into deep deception ---and they are not alone ---many are being deceived ------

The sad thing is that people don't know they're deceived even when they can quote the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It doesn't help to quote the Bible if it isn't understood and/or rightly divided. Good luck cutting through the human ego. God help us.

I believe in the sovereign grace of God to deliver a person eternally. without any help from mankind, but can you tell me what the "through faith" means?
“Through faith” was a reference to Ep. 2:8

Grace/Charis: the divine influence upon the heart…..

Through/Dia: by, through, with….because

Faith/Pistis: faith, belief…….

By the divine influence upon the heart we are saved by faith, which is a gift of God that no man may boast.

have you guys defined the term repentance ?

Could be your thinking it means different things

Repentance is the result of, a born again child of God, feeling guilty of breaking one of God's spiritual laws.

The natural man, as described in 1 Cor 2:14, will not, and indeed, cannot, repent of breaking one of God's spiritual laws that he cannot discern, thinking it to be foolishness.

Many here at CC seem to be preaching a strange false doctrine which suggest that some are born saved and never have to make a decision to come to Jesus and invite Him into their heart. Salvation and redemption is available to all, but one must first humble themselves, confess they are sinners, repent of their self-centered nature, and believe upon Jesus to the saving of their souls. It is only then that they attain membership in the Church which is predestined and elected to eternal life with Jesus.

Confess your inability to pay your own way, but then realize that you must come to Jesus and invite Him into your heart and follow Him for the rest of your days.

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” - Revelation 3:20
I agree with confessing Jesus is God, that He died and rose again, that by believing in Him we have eternal life.

Revelation 3:20 though... the context is the figurative door to the local 'small c' church.

Have a look at the surrounding verses..'church ' here is in the context of the 7 churches in Revelation. Local and visible.

So to get what you are posting I think it's better to use John 3:16, Romans 10 and such like that are clear eternal life verses.

I believe the scriptures to teach that the "faith" in Eph 2:8 to be the faithfulness of Jesus willingly going to the cross. To me, it harmonizes with Gal 2:16.

A person has to have already been born again, before he has spiritual faith, which is a fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal 5:22).

I read your opening post and you're not quite right. What you've stated will not save your soul. When ALL pertinent scriptures regarding salvation, you end up with a short list.
1. Belief and faith
2. Confession of your belief
3. Repentance
4. Baptism, immersion in water, fire the forgiveness of your sins.

Upon doing the above, you'll be saved, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, be added to the body of Christ by the Lord, and become a Christian and child of God.
I disagree with the baptism immersion in water part but agree with the rest of your points. Also, while belief and faith are key elements, it is also noted in James that faith without works is a dead faith.

Maybe she has been watching YOU and thinks morally she's better than YOU so why does she need YOUR GOD to become more like you.

Look at true blue democrats.

They are for people who want to be same sex, change their gender, etc.

Us Christians are the first to bash these ideas.

But a true blue democrat looks at our stance and their stance and on a moral basis alone without God they're doing the better thing.

It's difficult for those people to think they need what we have when we are worse morally than them.
This sounds like self projection.
If you are living an immoral life, then you must think other Christians are as well.

Your backhanded attempt to bash me says a whole lot more about you than me.

Salvation=deliverance, saved=delivered, save=deliver, according to Greek translation.

Faith does deliver (save) the born again child of God many times, as he sojourns here on earth.

The trouble that the "works salvation" (deliverance) people, who are born again, is that they apply all of the salvation (deliverance) scriptures to be referencing eternal deliverance, witch is a false doctrine that will teach them that eternal deliverance is accomplished by their works.

It's irrelevant what those following a depraved ideology think is a better thing. We can't be witnesses for God by pretending
things that offend him are righteous.

Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
Please note the past tense. These Gentiles received the Holy Ghost BEFORE they were baptized. So their sins were remitted and they were saved by grace through faith and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Water baptism followed immediately after their conversion.

The Holy Spirit is usually given the very instant one receives holy Baptism. This is called Baptismal Regeneration and was held by the Early Church. Saint Peter teaches it when he says: “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38)

Later in Acts, the teaching is repeated by Saint Paul, when he relates: "16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name." (Acts 22:16)

Why did the Holy Spirit descend upon Christ when He was Baptized? Christ, being God, always had the Holy Spirit in Him. It was God's way of showing us that Baptism, done in the Name of the Trinity, gives us the Holy Spirit when received in faith.

Just read the OP and agree.

1 Jn 1:

"8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us."

Hence if we lost the Holy Spirit after Baptism, for e.g. by apostasy from the Lord, we can always back to Him, by believing in Him as Our Lord and Savior, confessing our former sins, and repenting of them. Then, the Blood of Jesus washes them all away, as the above passage says.

But in Baptism, the Holy Spirit is given for the first time. And the Early Church understood the Seal to also be given in Baptism, which is why Baptism is never done a 2nd time, even if someone who has apostatized now comes back to Christ. There is One Baptism, as the Word says, so it is not repeated. Circumcision is also called a Seal. A Seal is an external sign or symbol of an internal change. Baptism/Circumcision etc.

Maybe they think they are superior morally, but are they? Encouraging someone to go into a trans lifestyle and to eventually have important parts of their body cut off is a bad thing to do. Encouraging women to get abortions, encouraging people to go into an LBGT lifestyle... these aren't good things.

While you could find a given individual who professes to be a Christian and is socially conservative who lives an immoral lifestyle, living in drunkenness or adultery, or whatever, painting conservative Christians, in general, as morally worse than true blue secular Democrats, morally, seems quite unlikely.

I heard a researcher on the radio say that conservatives gave a higher percentage of their income to charities, especially church-going social conservatives. Ironically, conservatives gave a higher percentage of their income even to environmental causes. I have read stuff from left-wing Democrats that seem to imply the Republicans or Conservatives don't care about the poor because they don't support politicians who want certain big-government social programs. So there are progressives who think progressives are morally superior and more compassionate, but that doesn't seem to align with reality. Also, somehow supporting abortion is supposed to be more compassionate, somehow, I suppose. Supporting brainwashing vulnerable children into getting their private parts eventually chopped off is supposed to be more compassionate also. It's warped thinking.

There is also the question of what it is when an entire group receives the gift of the Holy Spirit vs an individual. Is it the same thing?

Your backhanded attempt to bash me says a whole lot more about you than me.
You approached her and she saw no reason to have what you were offering.

There's many possible reasons for her rejection.

But you must've known her to present her with what you did. That means she probably knows you. It's what she knows of you that seems to speak volumes since she rejected you.
