"Anyway, can you show us in Scripture where and when Jesus and His early disciples celebrated His birth?
They were too busy propagating the Gospel.

Are you implying that if the apostles didn't do something, we should not do it either? As mentioned in a previous post, there are MANY things we do as Christians, that the apostles never did.
Out of curiosity, do you partake of communion? .. and if so, when do you do so?

To understand doctrines and other Bible related matters the thing to do is ....refer to what's written in the Bible....and to not insert anything extra Biblical to support unBiblical views.
Christmas celebration is not a matter of doctrine in any church that i have ever heard of.
There are many practices in churches that are not a matter of doctrine, but are indeed common practice. Seating in rows, pews, pulpits, baptistries, childrens church, sunday school, youth group, church camp, chiors, praise bands, pianos, organs, carpet, air conditioning, heating, electric lights, hymn books, sound systems, for that matter even personal Bibles. All these things fall in a catagory called niether commaned nor forbidden. But i know this will fall on deaf ears, so why bother? Maybe in the hopes of some soul may read it and not be conscience bound by unbiblical phariseeism.

The Pharisees were the ones stubbornly stuck in their religious traditions. Even when Jesus called them out they had deaf ears.

They were binding people conscience to non torah rules and laws, by way of their talmudic traditions.
I dont demand anyone celebrate anything. No one is attempting to bind any conscience to celebrating. We simply dont want the converse.

In no way does celebrating or not celebrating; determine your christian standing. Its not a doctrinal issue, nor is it a salvation issue. Its a liberty matter. Those who choose not to are free not to. Those who choose to are free to.

Conscience is good so long as it's guided by truth. All I would ask of anyone is they be faithful to the truth.

I follow the rule that says, "If God wanted us to know further details, he would have provided them in His Word."

Since there's no date given for the birth of Jesus'humanity, it really doesn't matter.
When it comes down to it, there's no command to celebrate it or not. We have choices on traditions when the Bible is silent on the issues.

I agree on some traditions; but we need to use discretion. Just because a tradition isn't directly forbidden in scripture that doesn't mean it's wise to get involved with it. Watching Disney movies is a big tradition for a lot of families. It isn't directly forbidden in scripture but letting your kids watch them is leading them down a wrong path.

To look at most of our lives, it's as if we don't even know WHY he was born.

Titus 2:11
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Titus 2:12
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Titus 2:13
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Titus 2:14
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

I mentioned that to my pastor about a few of the older movies. Today the Magic Kingdom is known for porn and lgpdq.
Much of Disney directly violates Deuteronomy 18 too.

You know it's funny how some Christians are such haters of Christmas, but the world see it as a religious holiday. What other time of year do unsaved people come in and get to hear the Gospel message from their own children. I don't know how many people have been saved this way but I know many have. I'm a yes for Christmas that is Christ centered. You don't celebrated it, don't and leave others alone that see it as another time to minister to the lost.

What so ever you do unto the least of my brothers also you do unto me. So we give to children and the poor.

I dont know any christians who are getting drunk and committing those adultry or fornication.
Why do Christians bother with worrying abkut what pagans do or the lies they tell? Or that they try and coopt our celebrations and paganize them? Pagans gonna pagan.

I like how you listed all the horrible things pagans do, but none of the good things that christians do. We come together and read the Bible account of the birth of Christ and all the prophesies surrounding Jesus. We hold long services where we sing many songs of praise to the Lord. We on top of the regular charity work do extra charity work, providing meals and gifts for poor families and their children.
As for Nick, its short for Nicholas. Saint Nicholas was a real.Christian pastor, who was known for his extraordinary charity work, and he also sat on the counsel of Nicea. The real story is more compelling than the myths. I dont care about the myths that pagans tell.
I wonder why a christian would rather look at the evil of pagans rather than the good of christians?
We look at the times we are in now and not the times back then, because back then we where warn not to do those things. "Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might. Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? For to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee. But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities. Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men. But the LORD is the true God; he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. Thus shall ye say unto them, the gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens. He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightning’s with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish". (Jeremiah 10:1-15)

Now the Bible tells us in (Isaiah 1:18) "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD:"

The modern Christmas tree can easily be traced back to seventeenth century Germany; branches of holly and mistletoe were likewise displayed. Not only did these plants remain green through the winter months, but they also bore fruit at that time, thus symbolizing life in an otherwise dead season.

Many of our present Christmas traditions and symbols have historical roots in ancient paganistic rites related to Celtic, Druid, Roman or Nordic. Druid ceremonies were based on an eight-fold year. Four were solar and the other four were lunar. The Yule celebration is Dec. 22 or Winter Solstice. Yule is one of the eight festival days of the pagans. The Roman and Nordic invaders of Ireland had an influence on the prominence and significance of Yule. Yule, in both old Roman paganism and in Norse tradition, was the start of the New Year. Yule comes from a Nordic word meaning "wheel." The Christmas wreath is a symbol of the wheel of the year. Yule altars throughout paganism show the influence of Ireland and the Druids with their holly, pine and mistletoe coverings. Yule rituals enact birthing rites, ask for the sun god's return, and beseech that the wheel of the year be turned again.

The very word "Druid" means wise man of the oak, or "One who has knowledge of the oak." The custom of lighting a Yule log is an ancient Druid practice. A log, usually of the god-related oak tree, is carved into a small section which is brought into a dwelling. Holes are drilled into the log and candies inserted. The entire log is then decoratively covered with holly and evergreens to represent the intertwining of god and goddess, or male and female elements. Hopes for fertile crops, herds, and families are invested in the Yule log image.

Consider the habit of putting up lights. The profusion of lights on house and tree at Christmas time is a carry-over of the candles and fires lit in sympathetic magic to lure back the waning sun. Today it's still an Irish custom to leave lights burning all through the house on midwinter night to honor the sun's return. Fires and lights, symbols of warmth and lasting life, have always been associated with the winter solstice festival of the pagans.

Ok no idol making.
So who is over laying wooden carvings with silver and gold. And worshipping it? Thats not a christmas thing at all.
Since when is giving gifts, brutish and how is giving food to the poor evil?

I think we are done.

SUBARU- The logo is Pleiades ASTROLOGY

MAZDA- Mazda car is named after the chief Persian deity, Ahura Mazda. Even the early symbol of the Mazda line of cars (1936-1962) resembled the dual-winged image of Ahura Mazda and can still be seen in the modern winged “M” logo of the Mazda

NISSAN - The astrological connection is the logo, the circle is the Sun going over the horizon with NISSAN or NISAN over it. The sun passover occurs in NISAN.

FORD- Quite a few are astrological, Orion, Meteor, Laser, Galaxy, Falcon=Partner of Horus, Taurus etc ASTROLOGY

  1. All the days of the week are named after pagan deities.

  • Sunday = Sun’s Day
  • Monday = Moon’s Day
  • Tuesday = Tyr’s Day
  • Wednesday = Woden’s Day
  • Thursday = Thor’s Day
  • Friday = Frey’s Day
  • Saturday = Saturn’s Day

Most of the months of the year are also named after various pagan deities.

  • January = Janus’s month
  • February = month of Februa (pagan purification)
  • March = Mars’ month
  • April = Aphrodite’s month
  • May = Maia’s month
  • June = Juno’s month
  • July = Julius Caesar’s month
  • August = Augustus Caesar’s month

We should also stop wearing Nike clothes and shoes, eating Mars bars, using Venus razors, buying Hermes handbags, or investing in Janus funds. And since all the planets are named after pagan Roman deities, we shouldn’t talk about our study our solar system. We also shouldn’t visit the Statue of Liberty. And no matter what, we should definitely stay away from the Washington monument and churches with steeples since they are symbols that come from pagan rituals that celebrated the male phallic.

I'm going to have to get a new Pharisee notebook to keep up. Do you have any extra sharpened #2 pencils?
