Lennox states, "There is a moral rebellion in the human heart against God", at 7min & 45-55 secs.

Does Lennox's statement correlate with Jeremiah 17:9 ¶ The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Is this for all people?

Are Christians hearts immune or susceptible to either Jeremiah's recorded statement or Lennox's statement?

We are told to guard our hearts, our minds, I take that as we are all susceptible to the worldly suductions.
This is the battle with in all of us as paul decribes....o wretched man i am.
Each day this world gets more graphic in its attempt to desensitize its audience.
What once was a head turner or eye closer is now looked upon with the stare of anticipation for more graphic details.
What once was offensively and applauding to hear now is treated as normal conversational communication.

This is "Devil U", the university of Arizona. 😈

The key is for believers in Jesus Christ to reach these young adults before they are further influenced by the devil's own. The religion and philosophy departments as many liberal arts will do everything they can to drive the faith out of the students.
Below is a miracle. This preacher is invited to teach an entire class every semester in the religious studies course. There's hope for them at this point, but much less after 4 years. Once they graduate to a Bible mocking atheist like many university professors of philosophy, there is small chance of convincing them. There are parents and grandparents reading this right now who know they should share this video with those kids who visit on the holidays. I hope this will be a blessing to them too.

This 'lust' for the wickedness is not at all new. Wish I could recall where I read about early 20th century US an anecdotal story of a newspaper publisher recognizing the likely increase in circulation by putting stories in the paper based on Freudian theories of psychology which were relatively new and salacious. And likely preceding that era there were pockets of wickedness.

There was a book I read which documented a plantation owners diary during the civil war and revealed that the number of Opium addicts was so great that cotton farmers were anticipating growing poppies in the US rather than imported the Opium. I imagine if accurate that these Opium addicts were a hindrance to Christian society. Most drug addiction is ultimately problematic and from what i have read, cocaine when first derived was considered a possible 'detoxifier' for Opium addicts.

It does seem that Lennox's approach to counter prevailing 'assumptions', is possibly making headway. I use the word assumptions but Lennox is too clever for that. No doubt he has foremost in mind this verse. Matthew 10:16 ¶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

If you have not followed the work he has done and possibly still does worldwide you are missing some great, I don't know how to put it, dethroning, possibly of prevailing secularist and likely atheist ideas. My sense is that he is too modest to say this, but seems he is attempting to cut the head off of the snake.

You tube has quite a few videos of his presentations and it does seem that he entices the listeners to consider a change of 'heart'.

The 'theory' or 'paradigm' or whatever the intellectuals call it is one of the ideas that is possibly still prevalent at college level and John Lennox teaches against in his attempt to bring God of the Christian Bible teaching back into schools. NOTICE!!!!!! this type of teaching that Lennox is trying to displace is atheistic.
God of the gaps

This article is about a philosophical argument. For the "gap" interpretation of the biblical creation account, see Gap creationism.

Arguments for atheism
Against God's existence

"God of the gaps" is a theological perspective in which gaps in scientific knowledge are taken to be evidence or proof of God's existence.

IF THE ABOVE WIKI ENTRANCE MAY SEEM TO SOME THAT THIS HAS SOME SENSE OF KEEPING GOD IN THE PICTURE. THEY WOULD BE WRONG WRONG WRONG.
Listen to Lennox videos to hear how this 'God of the gaps' 'proposition' has been used to push God out of the picture.

I have no argument with him. I had a chance to listen to much of the interview. We both had similar experiences as young believers in the fact that the challenges of college strengthened our spirits as we defended the faith.. Exposure to foreign religions, cults and atheists has a way of getting a spiritual workout. I have seen, however, many high schoolers follow into college and drop out of their churches too. I expected that Daniel and his friends were the exceptions rather than typical believers when they were made eunuchs and thrown into the Babylonian system. I have come to the conclusion that it's a very dangerous place especially for young ladies. I would like to see men of God tackle the tough issues facing teens as they consider the future. I know nothing about the man other than what I watched, but hope he is effectively sharing the gospel as he has opportunity. We had university professors and employees in our Baptist church as a young believer. I was asked to be a part of the college ministry, so have given these issues some thought.

You should check out a few of his videos. He draws his audience in on some and if they aren't responding appropriately his tactics are very effective to reach them. Some that he is addressing may be already ingrained with atheistic teaching and he may be breaking through some of that shell.

Maybe I see it more from my own atheistic background. Seems possible that I might have listened to Lennox when I was totally proclaiming atheism but hard to say as that was as a teen. The audiences he is addressing that I have seen so far may be just a bit older in some cases.

The audience in Nashville they didn't show and I don't know if they were students or something else. The message from place to place is similar it seems but then I FF on some so not sure. The 'theories' or whatever you call the atheist positions seem the same on each video. Evolution, God of the gaps, naturalistic worldview and probably others. I never knew about this kind of stuff till hearing Lennox as it would not have interested me.

That is why I can't be certain I would have listened to him or walked out. The videos don't show the audiences much and can't tell about that. Seems to me that the sounds the audiences make indicate a fair size crowd. Maybe there is faculty in attendance too?

I personally believe it’s for all people. I’ve talked to a lot of people in my life and many Christians. While I don’t know if everyone who claims to be a Christian truly is because wolves in sheep’s clothing a real thing, it’s evident Christians often aren’t much different than the rank and file non-believer, sometimes indistinguishable, in word and deed.

Of course, it’s entirely possible some people act as unsavory as possible intending to make Christianity repulsive and unpalatable to the average person. I think that’s more rare, but I’m sure it happens.

Matt Powell's Channel will probably interest you. He debated a community of atheists and satanists. He has also spoken to churches about interesting topics. Check it out.

Do you suspect that some are under a great delusion as I believe that there is scripture which says this. Search gives this verse which may apply.>>>>2 Thessalonians 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

The Bible says the natural mind finds things of the spirit to be foolish.
Perhaps that's an answer?
