This passage shows that we must live in repentance.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

I mean that social behavior is big part of what we are taught as Christian’s

seven the Ten Commandments in the ot seem to be centered upon social behavior

when we kill we do that to other people

We steal from other people, lie to other people covet other peoples things ect

Its just my thought but sometimes it seems like we see Christianity as only personal and not as a social guide as well as a personal faith is all I meant , it seems to me there is a very social element to Gods Will for mankind

Those kinds of scriptures are supposed to give a believer concern it’s meant to teach us to repent and make sure we don’t think “ now it doesn’t matter what I do “

Notice how consistent it is in his letters you have Galatians 5 there and then

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

And again

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. As we let the truth in it’s going to change our mind from believing “ we all sin everyday all day there’s no way to change “

Just simply understanding that we can’t keep living in sin is important

when you accept things like paul explaining about the works of the flesh ( sin ) it’s meant to change what you think

Sin everyday there’s nothing different “ it’s going to keep us there like shackles but when we start to let in the truth about sin it’s going to accomplish this

“in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

The devils Will for us is sin because he knows it’s death that truth helps to change our mind about our actions it helps bring us to repentance our place is just to accept what we’re learning especially the things our flesh doesn’t want to accept

when you’ve done something wrong and you realize it , you have to acknolwedge it to yourself and the lord and repent if we do that he’s promised to wash it away

we should have the attitude “ never sin “ but when we have sinned and realize we aren’t perfect either we can’t forget the advocate and propitiation and Jesus ability to forgive and wash us clean as if we never sinned at all

Your right on repentance is an ongoing life decision we make that when we have fallen short and done a wrong we’re going to acknolwedge it was wrong and repent moving forward

Repent doesn’t mean “ become sinless and then I’ll save you “ it’s an attitude a life belief , a way

My confidence comes in the faith of Jesus Christ, the one who never sinned and always pleased the Father. I have zero confidence in my faith. I have access to the Father by the faith of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 3
11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

You can’t have faith until you hear the gospel and receive it

Jesus provided salvation it requires us to hear and believe his word and follow after him

His work was done before the cross after he preached the word of life before he died

“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.”

this isn’t a hypergrace thread brother it’s about Paul’s teachings regarding active Christianity

things like this that if we accept it guards our minds against things like hypergrace and lack of self control

My confidence comes in the faith of Jesus Christ, the one who never sinned and always pleased the Father. I have zero confidence in my faith. I have access to the Father by the faith of Jesus Christ.

Why don’t you believe anything he said then ?

some folks faith comes from rejecting his word I’m not sure that’s the same faith that comes from accepting his word
