While i am a great fan of mr darcy i think you got it wrong liamson , they both shaped eachother , Elizabeth realised her prejudice of Mr darcy was totally wrong , and Mr Darcys pride stoped elizzbeth from seeing the person who he truely was because hed rather her beleive an untruth about him than let his pride tell her the truth..Both were totally unbendable until they were honest about themselves and honest with eachother and still it took some third parties to help them along the way because they both had too much stubborness and pride..

I'm a fan too, bella. And not because of his weaknesses (which only make him more endearing), but for his strengths. I don't see him as being milktoast in the least.
It seems like so many people look at men one way or another, with the wild stallion on one end and the timid little "whatever you say, dear" puppy on the other end of the spectrum. I want the guy that's right about here:

- doesn't think he's always right, but is smart/confident enough to know he probably is
- when he is right, just knowing it is enough
- wise enough to know when he's being "handled" and gives you that goofy grin that says "knock it off, darlin" haha
- won't let pride stand in the way of what he knows he can't live without
- and just when you are expecting one thing, he has an amazing surprise for you

The guys in the middle are amazing, bella. Who would respect the guy who was afraid to do anything without being told? Who would want the guy who plunders and leaves a ton of one night stands in his wake without a thought?
What about the guy who knows what the President said today, but can tell you the goofiest joke ever? Knows how to fix your lawnmower, but takes time to pet the kitten he finds underneath? Be the guy in a group of men that they all turn to for an answer, but knows how to cook your favorite dinner? Will hold you when you cry, but tell you to get that girlie pink fuzzy thing off of his toilet? Will hold out his hand to help you climb higher, but stand in your way if you try to climb without him?
