Christian mediation on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and His virtues!

Mostly his bloody passion, and sufferings!

Psalm 119:148
Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy word.

Gal 3:1
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Meditate) (mental prayer)

The Agony of Jesus Christ:

Christ prays: Christians must pray!
Jesus Christ takes all sin upon Himself and shed His blood!
Jesus is betrayed, bound, and brutally taken prisoner!
(Caused by all my sins)

The scourging of Jesus Christ:
(Caused by my sins of sensuality and impurity)

The crowning of Jesus Christ with thorns:
(Caused by my sins of pride and impure thoughts)

Jesus Christ carrys His Cross:
(Caused by my stubborn refusal to live for God, to love and serve God)

How can you deny yourself and carry your cross unless you meditate on the virtues of Christ carrying His cross?

Matt 16:24
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

The crucifixion of Jesus Christ:

In Agony His garments are stripped from His wounds, opening the wounds, His precious blood flows on all sides, and then being crucified for the sins of all mankind!

John 12:32
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Zechariah 12:10
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Meditation on the passion of Christ bears Fruits of repentance and love of Christ crucified who loved us and suffered for our eternal salvation!

Christians called to suffer:

Phil 1:29
For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Passion scriptures:
Isa 53
Matt 27
Mark 15
Luke 23
John 19

To be worthy of Christ we must conform to Christ, to His life and virtues!

To do so we must meditate on His life , death, and resurrection! Amen!

Psalm 84:9
Behold, O God our protector and look upon the face of thy Christ!

And admirable is the name of God!
Blessed be the name of Jesus!

Psalm 91
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. ...

Cover the entire land and people in the precious and royal blood of Jesus Christ king and savior!

One drop for sinners spilt, can purge the entire world of all its guilt! Jn 1:29 the blood of the lamb

The Our Father contains all the duties we owe to God, the acts of all the virtues and the petitions for all our spiritual and corporal needs. Tertullian says that the Our Father is a summary of the New Testament. Thomas ‘a Kempis says that it surpasses all the desires of all the saints; that it is a condensation of all the beautiful sayings of all the Psalms and Canticles; that in it we ask God for everything that we need; that by it we praise Him in the very best way; that by it we lift up our souls from earth to heaven and unite them with God.

Saint John Chrysostom says that we cannot be our Master’s disciples unless we pray as He did and in the way that He showed us. Moreover God the Father listens more willingly to the Prayer that we have learned from His Son rather than those of our own making which have all our human limitations.

We should say that Our Father with the certitude that the eternal Father will hear it because it is the prayer of His Son Whom He always hears and we are His members. God will surely grant our petitions made through the Lord’s Prayer because it is impossible to imagine that such a good Father could refuse a request couched in the language of so worthy a Son, reinforced by His merits, and made at His behest.

Saint Augustine says that whenever we say the Our Father devoutly our venial sins are forgiven. The just man falls seven times a day, but in the Lord’s Prayer he will find seven petitions which will both help him to avoid downfalls and will protect him from his spiritual enemies. Our Lord, knowing how weak and helpless we are, and how many difficulties we get into, made His Prayer short and easy to say, so that if we say it devoutly and often we can be sure that Almighty God will quickly come to our aid.

Here's some meditation upon the Word that I listened to often through the first few Psalms. I can't recommend the abide app, because I never had it, nor listened to the rest of the audios. However, this is my second favorite voice to listen to read the Bible KJV. The waterfalls remind me of some of the beautiful places in "Wild Wonderful, Almost Heaven West Virginia."
If I ever marry, these are the kind of places that would be perfect for picnics and camping. Some of these are bigger than ours, but we have spectacular views if you know where to go.
