So, the MSM has a guy on the news blaming the tech-guys saying "the actor has the right, but not the duty to witness their props being loaded."
Okay, whatever- that doesn't mean you aren't responsible for how you handle the weapon after you get it from the tech. You don't point a gun at someone you don't intend to kill: that's gun-safety 101 and also COMMON SENSE!!!
As somebody who has handled prop-guns for a Six-flags show (Batman Thrill Spectacular), I have a lot of serious questions.
-why were their live rounds on set to begin with?
-why did they have prop-guns that are even capable of shooting bullets, instead of modified blank-pistols?
-why did he ever point the gun directly at a person, let alone a person who was off-set??
There is just so much wrong with that scenario: they must have literally violated every single gun precaution in the book!
It might have been an "accident", but there is so much negligence going on its overwhelming.
It is a brazen insult to us to say that this "was an accident". It is illegal to point a gun at a person. She was not an actress, this was not a scene in his movie. He was angry about something and pointed the gun at her. Second, it is illegal to point a gun at a person and then pull the trigger. Is he trying to intimidate her? Trying to threaten her? I was a teacher and I know the principal would have a couple of meetings with teachers throughout the year where in that particular case the principal is angry or unhappy with that teacher. There could be a number of reasons, parents complaining, students complaining, bad observation, etc. Imagine the principal points a gun at the person and pulls the trigger?! The principal would be fired immediately and charges would be brought.
If I kill someone while driving my car it might be considered an accident if everything I was doing was lawful. Perhaps a kid runs into the street to get a ball and I was travelling at the speed limit, both hands on the wheel, and immediately step on the brake, but the kid is still killed. OK, maybe that was an accident.
But this is not that. This is me driving in a school zone, a kid is crossing the street at a crosswalk and I decide I'll just not stop. I run over the kid. Cops question me and I say not my fault, it was an accident, I thought the kid would jump out of the way.
