One of my.biology professors spent an entire class trying to explain why it was a "fact" that we all evolved from earthworms.
"Confused and unable to complete the task at hand"
Anyhow, back to my biology teacher. He drew the anatomy of the earthworm and that of a man's CNS... central nervous system. After pushing his thick wire rimmed glasses 
up his nose a few dozen times and much deliberation, he revealed his great discovery that we all came from earthworms because of the location and similar structure of their cns. My buddy sitting next to me was trying to keep from laughing just the same. I looked back across the big auditorium and it looked as if everyone was mesmerized by the incredible discovery. I personally thought it would be classified as a hypothesis, but I digress. I liked Dr Bl_des. He was the friendliest professor in his department. I didn't want to show disrespect, but had to share this with my girlfriend between classes.
I said Mary, as I tried to keep from laughing, you'll never believe it. Lol! Dr Bl_des said that we evolved from worms. She looked at me seriously and replied,
"Well, SOME of us DID!".
