2 earthquakes in Turkey and Syria and thousands are homeless or dead.
They're still searching for survivors and they're saying it will take years to fully recover from this.
I'm wondering if this is part of the foretold end, where there would be earthquakes in "diverse places"?
Praying!

I don't think that is the case here.
The whole place has been geologically active for thousands of years.

What the real culprit is the absolute lack of enforced and enforceable building codes. Sure the engineers understand load stresses...but earthquake proofing buildings above a certain heighth begins to get more difficult. And then comes the cost cutting and bribery...so that the buildings don't have any ability to withstand an earthquake....because often it's cheaper to pay the extra insurance vx building to proper codes. (People and lives don't really matter)

Sure, it's a travesty and people are swarming in to try and alleviate the suffering. No telling how high the death toll is going...and the subsequent death toll from related indirect causes.

Of course this is part of the foretold prophecies. First we are told there will be earthquakes in diverse places. At the time of Jesus you would not hear about the vast majority of earthquakes in diverse places, so the fact that we are watching this catastrophe that is 15,000 miles away in real time and sending aid workers is a fulfillment. Also the USGS website which lists every earthquake around the globe is a fulfillment. Also the fact that the number of the earthquakes has increased 1,000% in the last 70 years is the fulfillment of comparing the earthquakes to birth pains which will increase in both frequency and intensity.

The UN has reported that when it is all said and done they may discover as many as 100,000 have died.

Already 17,000 are confirmed dead. The stock market has been closed for a week. This will cause the total collapse of Turkey and Syria.

In the last week we have had 441 earthquakes worldwide of 2.5 or greater magnitude.

The same week in 1950 we had 15 earthquakes worldwide of 2.5 or greater magnitude.

Here's a short report that might be of interest. The video mentioned a seismologist who predicted this 3 days before it happened in the exact location.

Seismologist Predicted Earthquake of 7.5
(Correction 7.5, not 7.4)
I haven't listened to his reasoning, but don't buy the reported explanation of effects from the moon.

They can predict earthquakes based on us knowing the major fault lines on Earth, keeping track of pressure building up based on previous faults and movement along those fault lines, and based on Solar CME's that hit earth.

Basically they can give you an idea of the location, the fault line and the range of the possible size of the earthquake as well as a time frame.

They cannot predict specifically when and where.

However, the birds in Turkey were going nuts immediately before the earthquake and it does appear that animals can detect an imminent earthquake, perhaps by some high pitched sounds we can't hear.

I understand the fault lines and a general concept of time frame. The report mentioned that the lunar cycle was a factor of prediction to three days prior if I remember correctly. That's pretty exact . Normally, Ive heard of pre and post tremors but there was no mention of those. Considering the moon is always cycling through phases and distances, it just doesn't make sense that it would be a indicator of tectonic plate shift or fault lines to me.

Turkey and Syria have both had despotic rulers for quite some time, and these countries have been on the verge of collapse already. So as you say total collapse is not to be ruled out. But then all the Western nations are being led by politicians who also deliberately want the total collapse of their countries, with Joe Biden leading in every way. The winners will be China and Russia.

Gravitational pull on the Earth changes. During a full moon the moon is pulling from one side and the sun from the other, during a new moon the gravitational attraction of the moon and sun are added together.

China and Russia are not the winners, read the Bible.

This doesn't mean that the Kurdish population won't take advantage in Turkey, Iraq, and Iran and Syria. Kurdish in Turkey are rather wealthy...the other nations tend to beat the Kurds down a lot and try to displace them.

Trump had a golden opportunity to give the Kurds a genuine Kurdistan. And he blew it. They have been fighting for a homeland for ages, and no one has bothered to see that they have a just cause. The same with the Sikhs in India. Indira Gandhi should have given them Khalistan without any argument. Instead she paid for her stupidity (just like Assad and Erdogan will pay for their stupidity).

Actually you should read the Bible. "The land of Magog" is Russia, and "the kings of the East" are China. They may not be the eventual winners, but they will certainly be the short-term winners. Only God and Christ are the eventual winners.

I'm not saying that doesn't have an effect, but there must be another factor at work since the moon position opposite the sun doesn't always cause a major tear in the Earth's surface. I would like to listen to the full explanation by the man who predicted this. The report was brief and likely left out something.

Yes, their prize is a burial place near Jerusalem.

I remember in my first job being told to look after the NZ Standards at the Engineering Library at the University. It was STUPID as they kept them under lock and key, didnt allow students to freely copy them or view them or make them available in all the hardware stores or anything.

This includes building codes and health and safety standards for everything. That all engineers, builders, planners, designers and tradies are meant to follow.

Now I know why buildings are so shoddily built. Everyone ignored these Standards. Plus the standards in NZ are different from everywhere else in the world because we have regular earthquakes, active volcanoes, lots of rain etc. If you are following say a British standard or ISO standard it may not work in NZ.

And our measurements are in metric while some countries have different imperial measurements.

While there may be nothing much we can do after an earthquake has happened, if builings are properly built they can withstand earthquakes and be safer for people thats all Im saying.

This is how people learned, like say after the Fire of London there was decree stopping buildings from being made of wood and thatch and everything was made of brick, and they had a fire response system in place and more than one exit for every building.

While you cant know every disaster that may occur, knowing what to do in the event of one is crucial to survival, and how to minimise risk needs to be built in to where people site and build their dwellings.

Chriatian response to this is to pray for anyone that is homeless they find refuge in God, if we cannot help them directly.

Christchurch is still recovering from their earthquake of a decade ago so, it will take time. Nelson was rebuilt from their earthquake in an Art Deco style it became famous for. But these are small cities in nz. I cant imagine how terrible it is for these much larger European cities and towns where people have lived for centuries. People in California, esp San Francisco know they live near a fault line.

However even the Bible does say that Jerusalem will have earthquakes.

Food, clothing and shelter...buckets for sewage management, communication lines. Burying the dead. Evacuation, taking in refugees...those who are neighbours and close will do what needs to be done. Thats how people pull through.

If we are far removed from it I think its churlish to say as a Christian oh yippee it means the end of the world as prophesised. Why do some people have this attitude?
