Because they believe the answers they are looking for are in the church. People who spread the gospel and bring the lost to Christ evangelize but such people are rare if we the church do not spread the kingdom and bring the lost to Christ then he draws them to church or at least that would be the case but the church itse;f has been found wanting we look just like anyone else in the world we just claim to be different we don't go out and save lost souls we combine our faith with our daily lives and doing Christian things always seeking to grow in Christ but forgetting that we are for the kingdom and that we are called to bring the lost to Christ.

But when a lost soul decides to give this God thing a try where does the first place you tend to find such people? Church. So if things were the way they were supposed to be then yes the church would be exactly what you described but since we wont go to them the sinners and the lost try coming to us
Yes, this happens on occasion, but the biblical mandate is for the church to go out and preach the gospel. If every sermon in church was directed at the lost, then a good majority of the people would not experience growth.

To seek the Lords face....means to have a close and intimate moment with him....one on one a truthful heart felt need to just be at his feet. Or if your a kings kid to sit on dads lap🤗🤗
Believers have that available 24/7 through the indwelling Holy Spirit and God’s word.

Ok so you know when covid hit and everything was shutting down? the majority of churches shut down as well very few actually still gathered together we submitted to fear to the virus to the system that controls the states we are to gather together as a church and be a light in the darkness and that is part of why we gather in church but if we can't even gather together in the building that is the house of the Lord then are we even a church?

Think about it we as a majority wouldn't even gather ub his house. The idea of church I agree with I would love nothing more than for church to be what you describe but the fact is it hasn't been that way in a long time I mean if God was testing his church during the shut downs and mandates we failed miserabeky,
So church is no longer for us the host of the building is the same but the residents are shifting

I tend to think of revivals the same way I think about celebrities coming to Christ: “Good for them” is my first thought.
Should I ever NEED a revival to take the Lord seriously, God help me.
Believers have that available 24/7 through the indwelling Holy Spirit and God’s word.
The church is to have a corporate event..for we are the body of CHRIST.
There are many members of the body and many different gifts that each have and should use to exhort one another. Coming together in one accord is how the church first started.

Believe me that body will be revived not simply because of revival but because God is really at work behind the scenes here he is organizing and seperating he is setting things up for a transition that word came to me earlier loudly it feels like we are at a steep hill and the boulder that is God's work is just tipping over and once it gets rolling well you know how that works.

This is just what he has been speaking to me

A few points:

1. Everyone says Asbury experienced a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

2. What is the Holy Spirit's job, to glorify Himself or Jesus? If this was a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit, wouldn't you expect to be hearing the great news of salvation in Jesus? But there hasn't been any preaching of Christ crucified.

3. The faculty at Asbury are now encouraging their students to go out and share their experiences with others. What are they going to share? The "great news" that the Holy Spirit was poured out on them?

I'm sorry but are you blind? Are you really so full of doubt that you can't see what is right in front of you? The holy spirit the father and Jesus are one they all testify of each other the holy spirit is God himself and you know if he is being this upfront ;iterally right in your face and yet you still have a spirit of doubt.

These students are doing exactly what Jesus commanded to do to go out spread the kingdom and be fishers of men.

These people are doing what we wouldn't oh we study the word we discuss it we learn of it but these people are not just taking the word they are proving

We can be as skeptical as we want but at least they are doing what we wouldn't.

Let's see, where should I look to find truth? A guy on the internet who reads tea leaves and gets downloads directly from God? Or from God's inspired word of truth that has inspired millions over the centuries?

Gods inspired word huh? You can know his word that doesn't mean you get the picture I have seen what the word can do in the hands of those who claim to know the truth by his word yet fail to see the truth.

Yes I do get I suppose you could say downloads from God and that is because I found the truth and I have said many times how to find the truth.

So again I say repent and surrender to him make him your Lord not just your saviour and I mean really surrender to him really make him your Lord devote from then on your every action every thought every instance in life to be for the kingdom to be at his door over and over again just ready for the next thing for him to give you.

Until you know the fear of the Lord and until you sybmit yourself to Jesus as king and hold him in that regard you eill never know him like I have come to know him granted I am in training but you syudy the word I am existing in it

Yup, His word can be misunderstood and abused but that doesn't make God a liar. I'd rather have God's word than not have it. You carry on groping in the dark; I'll stick with the light of truth.

Right so how has that worked out for you so far? There is only one truth the word of God is one truth and that truth is all Jesus Christ he is the truth the way and the life so you look for the truth in his word yet it seems to have many different interpretations and and beliefs based on them everyone thinking they are understanding the word but if we want to really see the word of God for what it is we have to try a different method because the way we are seeking truth isn't working.

It is called the inspired word of God not just the word of God there is supposed to be power in his word it is supposed to inspire to be the word of life yet everyone uses it where is the inspiration? where is the influence? is the scriptures the actual word of God himself or just ink on a paper or a post?

So you thinik you have the truth because you cling to the wrod that you don't even realize that your so doctrinated and speak of his word like it's something you actually revere but when truth is presented to you you disregard it

You have done things your way I did things mine but I actually found the real thing has his presence filled your realm so thick and dense that you never want to leave his glorious presence? gas God suddenly opened your eyes to an awe and wonder of who he is just not even able to move or speak because of the gravity of I am?

You always think your on track and yet the things we speak of speak of what is in our hearts. You speak of the word and the things of God but always have a spirit of skepticism and doubt your always the first to question but not for the truth but to fisprove

I speak of the kingdom I speak of the state of the church and what God is going to do with it I speak of the things of God that you can easily find in scripture I speak of things that God has for his church even sometimes having God himself speak through me

I am only now able to be in this frequency with him and it is a higher realm with him in spirit and in truth and I want everyone else to get on board because this is a level with him where you will know him unlike yiou could have hoped for but you can either take my advice on this or miss out it's your loss not mine

I don't think in terms of whether it's worked out or hasn't worked out. I can only say that in my experience God is true and faithful to His word.

Matthew 6:34
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

You turn worry into a reasonable doubt, maybe it's bad today, but what about tomorrow? What about the day after tomorrow?

You should not to take on all your worries in one day.

I am afraid that is sadly the case in a lot of churches, and like you say the result is a bottle-fed church that doesn't grow in knowledge of God.

aND THAT IS FINE IF THAT IS WHERE YOU ARE SATISFIED BUT YOU WON'T PROGRESS MUCH THAT WAY.
tHINKING IN TERMS OF WHAT WORKS OUT AND WHAT DOESN'T IS USING EVERY TOOL gOD GAVE US IT IS PART OF DISCOVERING THE TRUTH, yOU CAN GO BY gOD AND IS FAITFUL AND TRUE TO HIS WORD BUT THAT IS THE GENERIC RESPONCE THE GENERIC BELIEVERS FORTE

gOD ISN'T LOOKING FOR THAT IF YOU STUDY THE WORD BUT DON'T EXPERIENCE THE WORD THEN HOW CAN WE CLAIM IT TO BE THE WORD OF gOD? wHEN gOD SPEAKS RSULTS HAPPEN IF YOU WANT TRUTH AND WANT TO REALLY KNOW AND UYNDERSTAND THE WORD OF gOD YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO REWIRE YOUR MINDSET IT TOOK ME GOING THROUGH YEARS OF THINKING i WAS UNDERSTANDING THE THINGS OF gOD HE HAD ME ON ONE LEVEL THEN TOOK ME TO ANOTHER AND THEN NOW INSTEAD OF JUST READING HIS WORD i AM SEEING IT COME TO LIFE INTO EXISTANCE i AM GET RESULTS ACTUAL ENCOUNTERS AND WORKINGS OF gOD i HEAR HIM SO CLEARLY NOW BUT IF YOU ARE OK WITH WHERE YOU STAND THAT IS UP YO YOU BUT IM TELLING YOU THERE IS SO MUCH MORE

But the topic is "revivals". Not simply being together in one place.

What I see, is that "assembling together" is much more specific. Assembling together, according to how the Spirit fit each one of us into the Body of Christ, is how the church is to gather together. I'm not saying that is counter to what you wrote only that it is different than simply having a meeting or a "revival".

Okay, if you say so. You can someone is quenching the Holy Spirit virtually any time for virtually any reason. It's a convenient excuse whenever someone says or does something you don't like. It's like calling someone a Pharisee or a Jezebel. It's supposed to shut them down and make them feel ashamed for not playing along. Well, nice try again.

Personally I think a lot of this is motivated by Christian nationalism. People look around and see what's going on in politics and the world and get terribly upset by the injustices they feel have been wrought upon them; especially by liberals. Instead of staying focused on what we as Christians should be doing they feel like they have to make a big show of force to the world that God is still around and not too pleased with how things are going. Be that as it may, God is able to take care of Himself; we should be in the business of sharing and teaching the gospel, and loving our neighbor.

Already I'm seeing on YouTube videos by Christian nationalists saying the next thing will be the Biden administration attempting to crush the revival.
The conflation of the Cross and the elephant is a horrible thing, and I believe a large part of what the Bible warns against in Matthew 24, 1 Timothy 4:1, 2 Timothy 4:2, Romans 16:17, 2 Peter 2:1, and Mark 13:5
