Yeah, I don't mind females not taking leadership roles in a church. Not being in a position of supreme leadership in a church doesn't mean women are "less". Everybody in their roles whatever they may be are still valuable. But I think Satan is trying to fool women into thinking that they are "less," so some women are trying to push to become pastors.

I think the perfect example of role cooperation is of the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit not trying to usurp God the Father's role. And God the Father is wonderful not ever "lording" His supreme authority over His Son and the Holy Spirit. The Trinity all works together so well because of this. So if we don't fight our roles in the Body and treat everyone with respect regarding their roles, all should work well together.
Women have to rise up when the men have no backbone.
And when the men take their place, the women can withdraw.
There are a number of women who teach scripture in schools, in church meetings to other women and children, all under the direction of pastors.

Judges 4:4-6,9,14,21 KJV
And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. [5] And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth-el in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
[6] And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?

Judges 4:8 KJV
And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.

[9] And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh. [14] And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the Lord hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the Lord gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
[21] Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

Church I used to attend had a male pastor but every now and then he would let one of the ladies preach a sermon.
These ladies also had college degrees in theology so knowledge is knowledge, doesn't matter who it's coming from

The setting for his restrictions of women is within the church, not every arena of life.
The restriction is restricted to the interaction within this exact relationship within the congregation. More simply, "there is to be no nagging/commentary to your husband while church is in service, not even as a whisper in his ear. Rather, take notes and discuss at home."

Husband isn't the only term used. But as I have no desire to be a source of dissension, I agree that you are free to believe as you wish.

I agree. So that tells us that God makes exceptions where lack of male leadership can be replaced with female leadership.

I used to work for the VA hospital system. I first started in the Brooklyn VA Regional Medical Center when I externed there during nursing school. I met a female chaplain that started the same year I did. She clearly loves the Lord and did her job really well in ministering to the VA patients.

A few years later, she and I ended up in the same VA RMC in another state!!!! Without knowing about each other's plans!!! Can't be a coincidence. She continues to be such a blessing to the people at that hospital, including me as she was a great example of loving and serving the Lord. I think that's what God was trying to show me.

Amen.

God never said he would never call women to ministry or leadership.
Women are the gateway of life in this world. Thinking we are less than in the eyes of God due to our sex is unholy. God knew what he was doing.

The human race is in a sinful state because by one man sin entered the world.

Thinking God wouldn't call women to teach what it means to be redeemed from that is short sighted and silly too.

So what do you all think?
The SBC did the right thing regarding Saddleback, but as usual it was too little and too late. Rick Warren had gone off the rails a long time ago. But then the SBC had also abandoned its own beliefs a long time ago. I'm not sure where they stand right now, but they adopted the Calvinistic nonsense wholesale several years ago, and compromised on several other teachings also. In a 2012 poll of 1,066 Southern Baptist pastors conducted by LifeWay Research, a nonprofit group associated with the Southern Baptist Convention, 30 percent considered their churches Calvinist — while twice as many were concerned “about the impact of Calvinism.”

It’s just not scriptural for women to actually be called, labeled pastor deacon etc. but yes we as women, constantly visit the sick in hospital, nursing home etc. to minister personally to them.

Also, I had a feeling she was able to get the job because the regional hospital was in a rural area with a small town and I don't think they had many applications come in for the position of chaplain. Probably not enough men applied for it. Quite possible she might have even been the only applicant. They are really fortunate to have her though!

Do you apply the same standard to everything Paul wrote?
God knows we can hope not! Calling Paul false and contradictory in his own letters wherein he praised women prophetesses, pastors, deaconesses, in his own founded churches is bad enough isn't it?

Compound that with Calvin being the label nay sayers put on God's preordination of all things? Yes, it's getting bad

Saddleback Church Ousted from Southern Baptist Convention Over Female Pastor

https://abcnews.go.com/US/saddlebac...st-convention-female-pastor/story?id=97384219

So, Rick Warren's church has been kicked out of the Southern Baptist Convention for ordaining a female pastor.

There have been a few female figures in the Bible that had some minor undertakings but never anything major. Paul the Apostle also wrote:

1 Timothy 2:11-15

New International Version

11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

So what do you all think?
I never quite understood why in the US the southern baptists are separate from the other baptists. Why are there no Northern Baptists or Eastern or Western Baptists. It dont make no sense.

My only thought is

The southern baptists get washed down the Mississipi Delta while the saddleback church baptists are still riding their high horses.

As for women being preachers …nothing wrong with it according to the Word of God….within the conditions of the Word.

If she is single, there is not a problem.

If she is married, then the arrangement between her and her husband should be likeminded…

If she has younger children … Her first responsibility is in the rearing of her kids.
Where in Scripture do you find this info?

I think its just means there are no longer any suitable men in that church who are capable of pastoring. Women have always been (unpaid) shepherdesses its nothing new.

How are they ' fortunate' to have a chaplain that is out of line with Scripture?

The Scriptures are His Truth never meant to be thee socially acceptable plan of the world.
