Yes, my response is consistent because of the 10 or so years I spent working with addicts, and being around them, many of whom prayed night and day to be released from their addiction, who were NOT freed from it. It was ALWAYS there. Their success was measured in the days that they, through the help of God, could resist that addiction and NOT drink/shoot up.
Your pollyanna world sounds nice, but it is not based in reality. I know that God can heal anything, and can do anything, but sometimes that "healing" is simply the strength to resist the urge/temptation.
Why was the apostle Paul not healed from his affliction? He said that he prayed continuously for it's removal, and it was not removed. He got past it, with the help of God. Just like an addict does.
You have not been on this forum long enough to judge my thinking on my "correctness".... you would do well to listen more, and speak less for a while. YOU might learn something.
I really do not care to debate and argue with people here and this post and a few others by other members, are examples of why that is so.

I think you have forgotten that Paul was bitten by a poisonous snake and just shook it off with no harm done. However that is not an addiction and neither was whatever God allowed to buffet him. Two 'not addictions' there, but both spiritual realities.

Paul did not pray continuously for the removal of anything. He asked God 3 times to remove the 'thorn in his flesh', which was not an addiction. God told him that His grace was sufficient for him. Further, Paul had this to say about the problem:

So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. II Cor.12:7. (the devil is not an addiction, but rather a spiritual enemy of God and all who belong to God.)

We learn from this statement (and a few others) that Paul suffered at the hand of God to keep him from becoming conceited because of the spiritual experiences God had granted him. Paul did not abuse alcohol or tobacco or porn. He prayed earnestly 3 times and God told him no Paul.

You have not been on this forum long enough to judge my thinking on my "correctness".... you would do well to listen more, and speak less for a while. YOU might learn something.
Yes. I have learned you appear to be adept at twisting scripture and shrinking God down to your level. Tell you what though, I am going to make use of the ignore button in your case as I do not have the time to point out your errors, knowing you will just get angry and attack me personally and that is not a discussion and I don't take what you or anyone else here says as personal. You do not know me, you simply assume things about me as others have done who assume they know more than I or others here.

I would trade very single bit of so called human knowledge for even one truth from scripture. So no thank you, I will not be hanging on your every word.

YES, the Emphasis is indeed on Jesus.

But we get places with God, like wanting a Revival and souls Saved, when we Glorify God and Magnify All He Is in true worship.

That is Seeking, Repentance, and Worshipping God.

The Prophets weren't just showing up one day with a Word from God so the people were in constant standing with their God.

Oh No, they were Praising and Praying God. Daniel prayed, Jeremiah weeped, they were in touch with God because they were all about Glorifying God.
No. We shall find God when we seek Him with all of our heart. So much worship is just clanging symbols and emptiness because People love this or that song. When you really do repent, I suspect you will be very quiet as the reality of God and then your tininess in comparison hits home. There is silence even in heaven when all realize there is only One who is worthy and only One who knows the hearts of all people everywhere and He alone is worthy to atone for all our sins through His blood.

Every Old Testament prophet was sent by God to turn them from their sin because they were NOT praising God and praying to Him. They were all slip sliding away and God was getting reading to send them into exile where they might actually repent in truth, that is God's truth and not their own self righteousness, for their sin and quit offering unacceptable sacrifices through priests with their strange fire (and that is not a knock against the spiritual gifts which are real and not the crass imitations we see so much of today.

You may have an Old Testament that has not been translated with accuracy.

I always ask "what can you believe for". Some do not believe they will ever be set free and will have what ever it is for life. Some like my son "you can't pray this away". God can not will not go against his will. So yes some have to struggle for the rest of their life. Some are like "I believe help my unbelief". Others are "I know you can but do you want to". Anyone that calls on the name of the lord shall be delivered. I don't care what it looks like sounds like or what man says God did not lie.

Side not based on what I read after.. praise GOD glory to God man gets no say in who is written in His books. We tend to talk different if it was our kids that would be lost forever. Then ooh then there is always hope.
Just so true

It wasn't an issue of faith. It's to keep him from being conceited and to learn to live in God's strength instead of his own:

2 Corinthians 12:7 or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

This is one of the reasons why God might decide not to heal a person.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Well, then you are in the wrong forum, sis. This is a "discussion" forum, so if you don't care to discuss and perhaps disagree, then you need to go find a forum where everyone agrees, and pats each other on the back, and gives virtual hugs.... This forum is not that....
I wish you the best in your search for that one.
And you really don't know me.... I don't get angry and attack personally.

Isaiah 53:6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

You know, for the past couple posts we've been saying the same thing. You in your understanding and years spent living for God and mine in my Language actually experiencing Revival, the kind of Revival that was all across the United States in every State of this great Nation.

When you hear on television or see older Preachers talk about the last Revival this United States of America has had recently, they're talking about the Revival that I am talking about I experienced.

They are begging God to do now what He did back then.

But I was there and know what we were doing for God to move like He did then. I was doing it!

If you actually ever read the Holy Word of God...you would know that the Body of Christ uses Prophecies to help guide them.
Well I cannot find anything in scripture that indicates you are all going to have revival 2.0. The 'body of Christ' needs to be guided by the WORDS of Christ which can be found throughout the Bible. The biggest and most important prophecy has been fulfilled and we have everything available that we need through the Holy Spirit. Going through Revelation again, I do not hold out for God doing all the work for everyone.

Here then, are some words for the body of Christ from one of those prophets

11Behold, the days are coming,

declares the Lord GOD,

when I will send a famine on the land—

not a famine of bread or a thirst for water,

but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.

12People will stagger from sea to sea

and roam from north to east,

seeking the word of the LORD,

but they will not find it.

13In that day the lovely young women—

the young men as well—

will faint from thirst.

14Those who swear by the guilt of Samaria

and say, ‘As surely as your god lives, O Dan,’

or, ‘As surely as the way of Beersheba lives’—

they will fall, never to rise again.”

Yes, this does apply to the Northern kingdom of Israel and warns of God's judgement that is sure to come for their many sins, most of which are the becoming fat in the land God gave them and doing their own thing. Sounds familiar to me

And that spiritual famine exists because of all the false prophets and the fake teachers and the so called worship palaces that churn out music for the masses and yet leave everyone hungry. It has become like a party and the drug is self serving me me me. People are all about their 'feels'.

People are split on whether or not they believe the Holy Spirit still does His job or has taken a very extended vacation. The emphasis is on what gifts people have instead of the reason they were given in the first place and people who proclaim their gifts as proof they speak for God have their reward now.

You say God does not change? Just how much do you really apply or believe that? Oh we are now under the New Testament? Tragedy is that the behavior of the body is not really any different than those God chose and blessed several thousand years ago. Remember. God does not change but He does not repeat Himself over and over and over to no avail. Like John the Baptist, the real prophets are crying out in the wilderness.

Spiritual applications apply and the physical (OT) is the record of how to see and apply that. No one has to believe me at all, but God is not sending a revival to those who are clamoring for one. Put on your work clothes and seek God and He will be found of you. You can have that revival in your own home. God can and will empower you to live for Him by His Spirit so that you may discern what is and what is not of Him.

God can and does revive the individual heart but He does not bless an event, as in all those gathered are at a revival, where homosexuals are on the platform and the body does not see enough to kick him off. You can see that God reaches the individual and touches those hearts and that is always something to thank Him for.

I found an article that seems to explain what happened:

"ChurchLeaders was told that many known worship leaders, musicians, and pastors requested opportunities to lead during the worship services but were turned down by administration. The leadership at Asbury University felt led by the Holy Spirit to keep the event student-led and didn’t want well-known names to distract from what God was doing.

Thursday night was no different. Notable names such as Francis Chan, Rick Warren, and Allen Hood were previously scheduled help lead during the National Collegiate Day of Prayer before the continuous multi-week service broke out. After discussions between Asbury University administration and the National Collegiate Day of Prayer team, they felt it best to continue with the theme of the event being 100% celebrity-free."

https://churchleaders.com/news/4457...at-asbury-to-keep-it-free-of-celebrities.html

I know throughout the whole thing Christian celebrities were being turned away. So it was probably a combination of things: 1) They wanted to maintain the student led nature of it; 2) They didn't want it becoming a three-ring circus; 3) It would've been pretty hypocritical of them to turn away some celebrities but allow others.

Warren and the other celebrities were scheduled to be there but it appears the outbreak of the revival changed things. Christian celebrities started showing up and had to be sent packing. After that they pretty much had to send Warren and the others packing. I believe the administrators did want them there but their hands were pretty much tied.

My personal opinion is that they behave in a way that is sickening. These 'celebrities' just have to have their place up front and show everyone how 'anointed' they are and none of us can come into God's presence without their leadership. :poop:

They love the adoration of the crowds and feed off of it.

I agree, there might not be a Revival. I might have experienced the last one ever in the United States.

But, if people would literally humble themselves before God here and there And more groups grow then it could be possible.

None of my answers from my original post You quoted until before this one should not have indicated I thought there would actually be a Last Days Revival.

I am more inclined to think that would be in the last half of Tribulation when the 144k Evangelists are preaching and this is truly the Last Time God is going to touch Sinners to Believers during what is happening in that day and time.
