The harvest is plentiful! The Lord of the Harvest has brought in the season. Let the laborers go forth to remove the rocks from the land, till the soil, set up a watchtower to protect from the thief, plant the seeds and then wait for the Lord of the harvest who provides the increase.
Remove the rocks-
2 Corinthians 10:5 ESV
5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,
We do this in love, patience, kindness, and peace. Apologia or apologetics will be needed to answer the many difficult questions that may arise.
Till the soil-
Matthew 13:23 ESV
As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.”
Build a watchtower to protect-
Isaiah 5:1-2 ESV
5 Let me sing for my beloved my love song concerning his vineyard: My beloved had a vineyard on a very fertile hill. 2 He dug it and cleared it of stones, and planted it with choice vines; he built a watchtower in the midst of it, and hewed out a wine vat in it; and he looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.
This verse was speaking to the nation of Israel but I use it as an ancient agricultural example to provide the image of a watchtowers use. Notice it also speaks of removing the stones.
The Church is the watchtower over the harvest and also has the call to sound the trumpet if and when the thief comes around.
Sow the seed-
Luke 8:11 ESV
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
The Lord provides the increase-
1 Corinthians 3:6-7 NKJV
6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase
