If the first manifestation is the Word of Truth which one hears, that is, receives or 'listens'.. then maybe is the 2nd manifestation?
That is one understanding. Others believe that this is concurrent with and part of salvation.
Acts 15:8, which says, "God showed his approval by giving them the Holy Spirit..." is a bit sticky for me as it's speaking of the Gentiles acceptance, but it is also by grace through faith for them as well. Is it speaking of His general approval of the Gentiles or approval of their faith? I think the sticky part is the phrasing, "knowing their hearts,"

7After much discussion, Peter got up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you that the Gentiles would hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. 8And God, who knows the heart, showed His approval by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as He did to us. 9He made no distinction between us and them, for He cleansed their hearts by faith.
Mem, this is your handle? I'm back. What then is meant by John 20:22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit." This is fulfillment of His promise then in John 7.39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. So, this is time disciples were BORN AGAIN. The night of the Resurrection.

So, let me "chew on it" as I would like to offer a well thought out answer, if I may be so fortunate to have one I think would be an adequate response.

Mem. I can't figure how to navigate. Can see our answer. but anyways .... So, I believe now, that the disciples were born again when Jesus walked into the room their were hiding in ( resurrection evening ) ... Jesus breathed on them ...said receive Holy Spirit ... but then later told them to WAIT for the Promise ( HS ) which He'd send upon them = baptism. “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” Lk 24.49 “for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1. 5, 8. So, conclude the Baptism happened at Penticost.
Ok, this is possible when thinking of Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus, you must be born again, born of spirit. And considering that the Baptism definitely happened at Pentecost, I see how you can view that as a second manifestation. However, can the first, that which is by faith, be seen as the initial 'conception' and the Baptism is seen as a 'bringing to birth,' do you think? Or have I missed your idea of it?

Romans 10.9-10 says = confess Jesus + believe in your heart God raised Him from dead = SAVED = has to mean BA. So then. at night of Resurrection, the 10 boys ( less Judas and Thomas who wasn't there ) ... SAW Jesus ... saw his hands and feet ... and Jesus blew on them ... saying, RECEIVE HS. When Jesus speaks ... it happens. So the boys rec'd, then went on to CONFESS Him to Thomas and other = Rms 10.9-10. So then, the boys got the INDWELLING gift of HS as Jesus said: “but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” Jn 4.14 Drinking = born again = water/Spirit goes IN believer ! Not Spirit UPON yet !

I spoke with nice lady today, who said there was 2 born again experiences. NEVER HEARD HIS. Anyways, she said, HS came UPON disciples in John 20.22, BUT they weren't BA. Then again HS came ON 120 ( including disciples ) at Pentecost ... AND that is when HS WENT INTO ... all 120 ... that when they got BA. That makes no sense at all.
I agree, I'm having a hard time with the logic that none of the Apostles were BA until the day of Pentecost, and especially considering that we are simply "saved by grace through faith," and the event at Pentecost revealed spiritual gift manifestations. I recently referred to scripture that says we obtain maturity by the Holy Spirit where we can know the more hidden things that the world can't understand.
NO, I'm not saying that. My post before basically said, THE DISCIPLES WERE BORN AGAIN ... on the day of the Resurrection ... then also all 120 before Pentecost ... BECAUSE of Jesus saying RECIEVE HS and the principle of Romans 10:9=10. The whole of the 120 SAW Jesus in flesh. They had to be BELIEVES = born of the Spirit. Plus, 1st Cor. 15.6 says more than 500 SAW Jesus before ASCENSIN = born again based on Rms 10.9-10
