Of course the Bible teaches this. Where did Stephen go after he was killed? And what does it mean "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord"? If you cannot give us a straight answer to that, then you know that you are the one holding on to false doctrines of Soul Sleep and Annihilationism. Before the resurrection of Christ all souls and spirits went to Sheol/Hades. But after His resurrection all the saints to to be with Him in Heaven, and all the unsaved go to Hades.
What's with all of the childish "giggle" emojis from the detractors? In poor taste to say the least.

hmmm does this mean I should fear myself above any other human, because i can bring about the destruction of my soul while others can only kill my body?

but i must fear God above even myself - here we go diving into the security of salvation aaaahhhhh
I wrote out the logical flow of my thoughts, and chose a cup of coffee rather than the unsure emoji. :'P though I often use the unsure emoji as an indication of continual deliberating of an idea but, because it's labeled an "unsure' emoji, I thought it would label me too very often 'unsure,' so I went with the coffee cup. :/

Not about that. Good luck with your worldly battles.
I win everybody wins. I have already pledged a $50,000 donation to Christian chat. Among other worthy causes.

You may think that I may have been joking. I have not I'm deadly serious. About everything I stated. Everything true everything a fact. These people were gangstas plain and simple.

Yeah, you say things like that while also continually refusing to admit that an obviously fully grown male who was larger than
both police women present was not a little kid. So your credibility does suffer in the face of such obstinacy to admit the truth.

Same as Nehemiah. He serves up logical fallacies and cannot provide any such
verse to prove what he claims, just beats his chest and crows like you do.

He will say one verse should be sufficient when it is about what he believes, but a plethora
of verses contrary to what he believes will not convince him otherwise. Same as you.

Childish and pathetic. BTW.......you lost your case. Resoundingly. Wasn't even close.

mmmmm delicious coffee

me too; same :coffee:

I've been of the opinion we should all agree italics indicate sarcasm - on the same note, maybe we should decide on a font that means "thinking this through out loud ..."

Very much agree. I notice Magenta sometimes mocks her opponents.
Some people respond with aplomb and alacrity, rightly dividing word of God. Some people post "giggle" emojis. So it goes insofar as vessels fit for honor or dishonor.

I hope you let @RoboOp know that you are mightily displeased with the emojis and reactions he has provided for us.

I am fairly certain also, that you consider your continual name-calling to be "aplomb."

especially in considering nuances where something may be true in some cases but not always true in every case and the varying degrees of possibilities inherent in such cases...

courier new maybe?

In FACT, the Bible teaches that God alone is immortal.
Do you know the difference between "immortal" and "imperishable"? Immortal/mortal applies to the body, hence mortality rates. But the souls and spirits are immaterial and imperishable.

Did Jesus not say that God is the God of the living and not the dead? But He was referring to the patriarchs who had already passed on. Yet for God they were living souls and spirits: And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err. (Mark 12:26,27) So Jesus is telling you plainly that you are in error.

Also while God alone is immortal at this point, all the saints will receive IMMORTAL, incorruptible, and glorified bodies at the Resurrection/Rapture. See 1 Corinthians 15.

The Bible does not teach this. Your very long history with me of refusing to own up to error is really quite telling.

In fact what Scripture does teach is that believers only put on Christ's immortality and incorruptibility.

Truth is I can go on tilt myself sometimes. Churlish and sarcastic......yet always trying to be sincerely truthful.

The true gentleman around these parts is @TheDivineWatermark .
The patience of a saint and as unruffled as an alpine lake. We all need to be a little bit more like his example.

Did I mention you by name? Perish the thought. If anything it's your guilty conscience screaming at you.

If all the dead are currently existing as disembodied souls, how are they 'held' in any "place'?

Did I say you had? What are you falsely assuming now??? See, you just cannot
be honest when it comes right down to it. I already knew that about you...
