Fruitcakes are underrated as door stops and paper weights.
I never understood how so many would have such a distaste for fruitcakes. I tried one and was surprised it was so very good! I don't remember if I avoided the green maraschinos though. There's just something scary about them...

I've never eaten a good fruitcake. They look very delicious and about every 5 years or so I will try one but I've never been able to swallow even 1 bite. But this reminds me that my 5 year fruitcake challenge might be this year.

See, now I wish I would've known enough to chase down that one recipe as this makes me wonder if I encountered some supernatural phenomenon in my first sampling of fruitcake. I seem to vaguely remember trying another and wondering what was different. It was something different enough that I've haven't ventured to try any more, but maybe that's just because I've never happened upon any since. Hmm, that just might be my gifting theme this year. Lol, I'll be curious to see each person's reaction in receiving it!

Nothing says exfriend like fruitcake. Glad I'm not on your Christmas gift list.
It's been rumored that one year Santa ran out of coal for those on the naughty list and instead left fruitcake in their stockings. Not one of those who received fruitcake was on the naughty list the next year.

Fruitcake is good for... regifting. The shelf life of fruitcake is longer than the life of the shelf. If you get a fruitcake that is an automatic turnaround and regifting next year.

Instead of the gift that keeps on giving, it is the gift that keeps on being given. :p

I'm "that" friend, though. You know the one...

I generally give people the benefit of the doubt, but, truthfully, I suspected you were on the naughty list from the get go.
