Because they are aiming to set a precedent: elections are now SELECTIONS.
Certain criteria have to be met, and only certain candidates with certain views are allowed in the club.

Now that these ground rules have been set, lying cheating stealing and election fraud are no longer an offense. The greater offense would be the possibility that the "wrong" candidate accede to office.

I thought that was always how it was, are you telling me that Dukakis, Mondale and Bob Dole were actually chosen to be candidates by popular vote?

What punishment will be levied? USA going to invade Africa, Asia and South America?

the incompetence of the Whitehouse is on display for all to see. The good news is the obesity epidemic in the US is about to do an about face.

You know there is nothing to worry about when they start threatening to kill anyone who won't listen to them. Glad we finally got that bad orange man out of office, who knows this country might have become a fascist state labelling parents as domestic terrorists, imprisoning the opposition parties candidate, and threatening to kill people that disagree them,...um better scratch all that.

The intent was always there on the back burner. The fact that overt public statements are now being issued is significant.

I think they know it is no use pretending to win public elections anymore so they have two years to get rid of them.
