It occurred to me while reading another thread that a lot of young people may live in states where blood tests are not required in order to obtain a marriage license as they once were nearly everywhere. Protecting your health is yet another reason this is an important issue to discuss with a prospective spouse.
If you have a relationship with God, allow Him to lead you.
I can tell you for me, after I was saved in 2007 I have not so much as held hands with anyone and I do not intend to give any of myself, even a kiss, to anyone who is not my husband.
The discussion however, well that can be anytime for me. i don't have an issue talking about it, but I use discernment in who I will talk about it with.

I prefer a no-nonsense approach on this subject. I'm not afraid to bring it up-and just let them know where I stand and what my boundaries are. If they're cool with it, then great. If not, then it's time to let go (in my opinion), because it is not a compromisable area for me. Either you follow what God says in His word, or you don't. If you do-we have a chance. If not, then do some maturing in your faith and you know who I am if you have a change of heart/mind. No use wasting time on someone not worth investing in!
Im confused about what you mean. I mean it doesnt really say much about sex in the bible outside of wait till marriage and its only between a man and wife. Like what else is there?

made me smile when I read the title S-E-X.
I can remember as a young teen being prayed over, and my parents friends prayed that Id be protected from S-E-X, I thought uh-oh, I know what sex is, but whats this S-E-X, have I done it yet!?!??! And ended up feeling more guilty :S
So for starters call it sex, that's if your talking to kids (of a certain age) of course

I guess I should have been clearer for you, Mega. Lol I'll keep that in mind. I agree 100% with you. But it's not just about the sex, right? I mean, there are more boundaries to discuss than that. It's cool when someone is on the same page as me, but there are a lot of guys who definitely aren't and can't understand the waiting until marriage viewpoint, and they are believers. So. Anyway. Hope that made sense.
Well I mean this thread is just about sex(or S-E-X for timofree)....but maybe i just misunderstood how you phrased it, i was thinking you meant there were additional sexual boundaries set for in scripture outside of the two i named

"Just about sex"-Hmm. I guess I hear what you're saying. However, in my opinion, the actual "deed" isn't the only boundary we need not to cross, because of respecting the other, honoring their purity, etc...That's what I was getting at. I mean, God calls for us to resist lustful desires for anyone other than our husband or wife, so in a dating relationship, the further the couple goes, the less we are following what God desires for us. That's my take, anyway.
Oh you mean like while still dating not going too far in other ways okay. I thought you were saying there was soem like checklist of proper 'godly' sex once you were married between a husband and wife...lol

You know? This is why I will talk about sex before marriage. Because I pretty much think everything goes. And if he didn't, it would mean we were not compatible and better to find that out in the beginning then after a contract is signed.
