Well, like St. Augustine I was raised catholic by my parents but once I became an adult I no longer cared about my faith and I lived a secular life and even spent a good deal of time in strip bars and even dated some of the dancers and met some adult film stars. St. Augustine spent time with lots of women and concubines and supposedly had a son with one of them. Then about five years ago I felt like life was no longer worth living and I wanted nothing more than to die. Some strange things started happening and I felt God was calling me and well, to make a long story short, I experienced a weird conversion which not only led me to Jesus, but also back to the catholic church and for the first time in my life I read the bible and really got into learning all I could about God and his word and how it all makes sense. St. Augustine also came back to God after realizing how empty his life really was and he is known for his brilliant writings about God and faith. Me, I'm just glad I can make some sense of it.

I have always wondered about the Catholic church. I'm Episcopalian, but thinking of visiting my local catholic church sometime . I know that you guys are awesome and stand up for what you believe in. Ive heard about our lady of fatima too. My dad's side of the family was Catholic. I'll of course have to ask him which side.

A baptismal name is usually your birth name now, but what it was originally designed to do was to get people from using pagan names when naming their children...it is still used today, for people that don't have traditional Christian names.
A confirmation name is a name of a saint you choose that you really like or is a saint that you can relate to that you can ask for prayers from in times of being challenged in your faith, or can inspire you in your faith. Your own patron saint.
For example, my parents named me Christopher since I was named that I did not need a baptismal name because one Christopher means Christ Bearer and two there is a St. Christopher.
My confirmation name is going to be John Paul II because I can really relate my life to JPII, for many reasons.
