This all started in another thread because you did not include your source, so saying it is a crime
to discuss outside sources with me is very dishonest of you when I was the first to ask you for
your source. Your whole post is more misrepresentations from you. That is what you should not
bother with. Try being honest for a change. Or is that asking for too much? Is there a Scripture
verse that says the Lord says a believer can receive a thorn in his side? No, but you claim there
is just because Paul had one. Don't blame me because you dislike being held accountable.
see I told you would find more fault

I told you from the begining my source I have studied for 12 months.

Are you that naive that you cant the word source means outside information.

So why then would you reply are you saying you have wrote this.

Because you knew source means out side information.
See your also refusing to see because Paul a christian reçieved a thorn in his fles no one else can.

So the scripture that says a person can be tested in fire must be false for you specifically to you then,

Or your so perfect you could never reçieve a thorn in your flesh, but then wait are you going to say your more perfect than Paul

Thanks JohnB. Yes, remember that the parable of the virgins was about those who were espoused to Jesus, called 'virgins'. Yet only 5 of the 10 made it to have Jesus as husband ultimately, and to be in heaven. Similarly, in the verse you are considering a surrounding text says: "The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers." Notice that he was a believer but was sent to be with the unbelievers. So, he does not appear to have made it to heaven, despite knowing about the Lord. Consider the language of Matthew 24: "Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left." This terminology of 'the field' is the world that the gospel is taken to by believers, and we also read, "Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left." This terminology of the mill is of persons grinding grain, and grain in the Bible is a picture of those who getting the gospel delivered to them (don't muzzle the ox). We see how the household of believers is split in two and broken up, so that some go to be with the Lord and some do not, in this verse: "But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up." So that is how it happens. A thief comes. The thief is Satan and those who are not watching in the household of believers, but are beating their servants and so forth, go to be with the unbelievers. So, we could say that the household of believers is broken up. So, you are right to be concerned that he calls them servants in Luke 12:47. They would be believers but ones who were deceived as the thief Satan stopped them from watching and praying, so to speak.
There is also:
“Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

“Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’

“And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’ Matt 25:42

Heaven is a place of peace John and also place where there is no harshness. It's not going to happen in heaven.

I have been following all your posts and I get the feeling there is some kind of worry and anxiety with mental anguish on your part that you feel convicted for, which I sense the reason for this is some sort of discipline from God.

“The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. Luke 12:47
Luke 12:42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

Deuteronomy 25:2 And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.
3 Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.

Numbers 15:29 Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.
30 But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
31 Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.

a thorn in the flesh is something given to us by God to keep us from becoming conceited,

For such an individual it can feel like punishent or torture.

But God doesn't torture his children he disciplines them.

And seeing as Paul was a born again Christian who reçieved a thorn in his flesh then this is where I'm basing my knowledge upon.

But the chances are since I have wrote this you will probably disagree with me and start resorting to debating with me then say I am at fault.

Would you like a source of information or would that be a crime.

Since my 700 posts to this forum i have only included probably 3 sources of information from an out side source, I would call that using my own mind and my long history of study.

But seeing as it's a crime to discuss out side sources with you I'll not bother.

why do you find this funny scripture says Paul a christian was given a thorn in his flesh to stop becoming conceited conceited means acting to proud,

The biggest sin of them all is pride befor the fall.

So if Paul was teaching new converts in a proud manner the new converts would become proud too.

A bit like you scoffing at the truth other Christians may scoff to

The Lord chastises his children,
However you want to describe it, as beaten with many stripes or a thorn in the flesh, this aint something to argue and fuss and nitpick about.

yes the ones he loves he disciplines so they don’t perish like any good father would warn his beloved children about the dangers of life so has God warned his children when we stray he does what is necassary to get us back on tbe right path

Its always for our good to save us and accepting it is what makes us legitimate children

“And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children,( the gospel )

My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, Nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, And scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?”

A bit of a funny story. My dad and I used to joke about making a machine that could be placed at gas pumps amd car washes; that you could put a quarter in and select a voice from nasal to shrill to screaching and you would hear a prerecorded nagging message so would could go home from work or whatever, and not need a nagging because you already had one for the evening.

I am scoffing at your ridiculous notion about receiving a thorn in the side. Which you know since are a prophet

Here is an interesting little ditty sung to the tune of Ole MacDonald had a Farm

Chorus: (sung to the tune of Ole MacDonald had a Farm)
A trolling I will go
A trolling I will go
False statements and nonsense
A trolling I will go

Someone tried to be a prophet
(oh no oh no oh no)
And in his posts he made great boasts
(oh no oh no oh no)
With a big boast here and big boast there
Everywhere boasting jesting and joking
Someone tried to be a prophet
(oh no oh no oh no) repeat chorus

Immaturity and a side of pride is what I perceived in his words definately the juvenile insults ect but I’d say he’s a believer too and maybe not a false prophet just maybe not a prophet maybe a fellow believer who thinks he has it all worked out but later will realize maybe not so much

“Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.”

I guess you must be the latest friend to turn against me thankyou

Do you people like burning bridges ? Because it sure feels that way.

How mature a person is depends upon how mature there parents where.

So actually despite are age difference you could be a young fool at heart and I could be an old fool wise beyond my years.

And there are no more prophets because the holy spirit can speak through all Christians

But I guess you forgot about that.

Having an argument about there are no more prophets is very ridiculous base for an argument.

Because your arguing for something that doesn't exist.

So I think this is a fools game.

What do you think young fool ?
