Ok ok, I like the dog![]()
And with that, this thread went to the dogs. Literally. Wish I had a treat for Nuke though.
I wasn't trying to make u regret anything. Just trying to be my usual crazy, irrelevant self
Nuke, that pic looks a little too much like the pug's LOL maybe you should change your name to Nukepug.![]()

Communication is important. Intimacy is important. Trust is crucial.
i mean i was 'married' in all but name before i became a christian, we lived with each other for two years and just never saw the right time for marriage...but it is annoying when i see people who clearly havent even had a serious relationship much less marriage putting their opinion to marital issues.l
But..if we go back to 1984, look at all of the cool movies we could see first run since we were too young to see them first time around-

You don't think an outside perspective can be helpful? I find it can bring a degree of clarity to the discussion, as those who are or have been involved in a given situation (in this instance, sex and marriage) are inevitably biased towards vindicating and justifying their actions, whether rightly or wrongly.
Some things are worth the risk. Reading post after post from folks who haven't a clue what they're talking about and NOT speaking up has been extremely frustrating. We're supposed to edify one another. Those who know the importance of intimacy within marriage need to speak up. We're called to it. There are too many anti-marriage junky posts out there. If creating this thread helps only only ONE young person to see this topic in a godly light rather than a legalistic one and, and as a result, enters into a healthy, trusting maritial relationship down the road, or helps someone not feel like trash for having certain feelings about intimate matters within the bonds of marriage, it will be worth dealing with whatever bonehead muckrakers show up and insist on bringing the discussion down to a stripclub level. I'm sure the highhorse riders will be along soon too, but ...just remember the childless pediatrician thing when they do and consider the source. Some topics separate the sheep from the goats. We're not too blind to see which is which, are we?
There has to be a reason God put this on my heart so strongly. It would be a sin for me to ignore the call, so I just put my big girl pants on and went for it. Hopefully, others will do the same.
Outside perspectives are great...just not your since you already know i think youre wrong in the way you view sex.

well judging by the fact that I've already formed my sexual identity/preferences already as have most of the posters in here by my guess. Your personal opinion, which I 'personally' find to be a rather legalistic view of sexual relations, does not fit with what I've decided is good for my life, hence why it is of no importance to myself personally.
Thank you so much for this! Obviously I have no marriage experience, and have vowed to save myself for marriage. All throughout high school, marriage and sex were distorted and it almost seemed like a viscious circle. It's perceived that you should have sex before marriage so that you know you're sexually compatible, and that you'll have a great marriage. But then, why get married? Then there's porn. In my opinion, pornography is one of the main reasons sex is seen as dirty. It's supposed to be "theatrical, wild, perfect.." blah blah blah. So, it's either a huge disappointment or one of the two people involved become afraid because they think it's supposed to be that way. Threads like this really should be put out there. Young girls (like myself) and guys need to realize that sex is not to be seen as dirty or shameful. It's something designed by God specifically for a man and a woman to enjoy as a married couple.
People who have "been involved" in sexual relationships within the confines of marriage have nothing to be vindicated. And those who may have made choices they have released to God do not need absolution from other believers. They need to be encouraged to continue to grow in their faith. Baiting and harassing them does not accomplish this purpose.
If you have something productive to offer that would be edifying to the young people we are trying to encourage regarding the importance of marital intimacy and communication with a prospective spouse, please do. If you simply followed Megatron in here from the other thread to continue the same non-productive argument going on over there, I would respectfully request that you not do that. Thanks and God bless![]()
