well well, i meet another "3" who believes her/she knows what they are speaking of...insulting me intelligence? bad idea, i become very cruel when people do so...you assumed that i hate my parents, truth is i do not in fact i love them very much and thank them for their hard and well done job they've done. Yes i have treated them like children, they acted like such and they deserved to treated as such, why? so they could realized that if they wanted to be treated as adults and my parents, they had to act like such.

your mind is very simplistic
i do not need a mother like such, although my parents are too. they went through hell to raise me, Thats why i love, honor and respect them (at least i try to)

*pats you on the head and gives you a cookie*

Do you feel better now?

Keep in mind that I never asked about your childhood, but how you are acting says alot. Furthermore, I am NOT your mother therefore you have no reason to disrespect me.

Then again, just from your defensive demeanor my guess your parents aren't the only people you disrespect.

Since you want to try to act like a big kid and be all grown up like it may be a good idea to at least speak as an adult. An 18 year old telling a 30 year old about insulting your intelligence gave me a bit of a chuckle. I am sure you are a smart kid, but you are still a KID.

I guess what I am saying is...if you want my respect(which I am sure you could care less. I know I do) and to be treated like an adult then you should act like one instead of a rebellious brat.

I can't respect my parents because they're really impulsive and can rarely be civilized in a problem. They grew up in a hispanic culture where most family problems are solved(?) via yelling at each other. Only once in a blue moon do they act peacefully for the whole day. They also tell me to do things which don't make sense to do and when I ask for a reason they tell me "because we're the parents and you're the child." Don't get me wrong, they're generally nice people and I love them very much but how am I to respect that sort of behavior?

I guess you can show respect by not doing it.
Encouraging someone, especially a child to do something like that is disrespectful in itself.

Yeah, I don't think respect should be based on authority status or anything as superficial as that. It should be based on how someone thinks, behaves, or anything that means special to the person giving respect. It has to be from a personal ideal not someone else's.

I actually agree with you about that.

Someone that has a narcissistic personality to where they think they are better than everyone because they are an authority figure has never been appealing to me.

They are not telling me to yell if that's what you're saying. I'm using things because I can't think of an example at the moment. Please do not use "child" as I find that degrading as you can tell by how mature my posts are (sometimes).

Why are you trying to prove that you are not a child? Got news for ya...you could be 50 and your parents will most likely still refer to you as their CHILD.

I am still my mother's child. No matter my age. There is no need to take offense to that.

But the point is, is that you're not my mother. So treat me as would any other adult.

You're right. I am not your mother.

Saying "you're not my mother." is a very adult response.

My apologies. Carry on.

I prefer kids, they make more sense most of the time.

Mark 10:13-15
New King James Version (NKJV)

13 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”

Yeah, what do you know? You're an adult. Adults are stupid. :D

It actually is in this context. You called me a child because I'm just 18 and I told you a story from a son's standpoint. Because of that story, you called me a child as you're used to calling your own. I wanted to remind you that on here I can be treated the same as any adult member. So in order to remove that association with your child I reminded you that I'm not your child. But I guess that was a mistake because it's such a generic response from people my age. If you didn't know my age and heard my story I bet you would be treating me as an equal. But since you did I'll always be known as a less mature person(sometimes I am though). Oh well. This is the superficiality I was mentioning BTW. I hope we can be friends still.

lol i'm a kid at heart ;)

lol Noah lived to be over 900 years old, so if you think about it we are all just kids in comparison :)

oh billy, ummm i doubt a few decades matters that much to most people. I've told 50 year old people on this site they were acting immature...just sayin'

personally I would rather be called a child of God then a honored elder of this world.

Actually, I would still refer to you as their child even if you were older than me. I understand that you don't want to be referred to as a child. I was 18 once and I remember wanting to be treated as an equal by every adult I came across....guess what? It didn't matter how old I was, or how intelligent I was. What mattered is how I acted and how I presented myself.

You will also have to forgive me. I am a mother of a young boy. I guess I am speaking as a mom. When you become a parent you become slightly insane(seriously, kids make you that way). So please, look over me if ya have to ;)

Anyway, I did not mean to offend or upset you, but I will say that compared to some in this thread you are ALOT more respectful. I like that, and I will treat you with respect as I think you do deserve it.

I don't want to be really known as mature but I just wanted to be treated as anyone else. Usually anyone who is termed as a child is automatically treated with less respect than a stupid adult.

(I'm really tired of talking like this. I'm starting to sound annoying :p)

you make me laugh woman...basing your views on your age, ridiculous. keep thinking that has any value...little brat i may seem to you (an opinion based nothing really) i'm treated sometimes like a teacher to those who know me, yet i learned from those who treat me like such....conclusion is, you won nothing, i won nothing (i was bored anyways) in other words time wasted in nothing.

This is a game? Oh. I didn't realize.

Eventhough neither of us "won nothing" I still think you deserve a cookie. "pats you on the head"

I love Ramon too. Most of the time he's completely out of there with his posts but when he's not talking about God he's completely normal.
