Gospel of the Kingdom message began with John the Baptist. After John the Baptist is arrested. Jesus & the 12 proclaim the kingdom message. This message is preached to Israel/Jews only. (Remember John cited Jesus as the Lamb of God that takes away the sins the world)
The Kingdom message required repentance, baptism, faith & works. The message content: Jesus was Israel's long promised/waited for Redeemer/Messiah, the Son of God! No death & resurrection doctrine required they had the Levitical sacrificial system that dealt with sin.
Even though Jesus told the 12 He would suffer & die. They didn't UNDERSTAND! (Mark 9:31-4, Lk 18:33-34, Luke 9:44-45)
John 20:9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
John 12:16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
Although an epic change of doctrine takes place at the Council at Jerusalem (AD 50-51). The kingdom message isn't completely retired until the destruction of the Temple in 70AD
Paul was saved under the kingdom gospel message (Acts 9:20) And began preaching the kingdom message: Jesus was Israel's long promised/waited for Redeemer/Messiah, the Son of God!
Paul is converted in AD34, travels to Arabia (Gal 1:7, we can glean from Gal 4:4 where in Arabia, Mt Sinai. Paul receives his gospel of the grace of God message (Acts 20:24) the same place Moses received the law) Paul returns 3 years later (Gal 1:18).
The message the risen Lord gave Paul in Arabia, is foreign to the 12. Paul refers to his message as my gospel (Rom 2.16, 16.25; 2 Tim 2.8).
Paul's primary audience is gentiles. Paul's gospel message: Christ died for your sins was buried & rose on the 3rd day (1 Cor 15:1-4) for your justification (Rom 4:25)
Paul's salvation/gospel (given to him my the risen Lord Jesus) was Faith in these truths (1 Cor 15:1-4, Rom 4:25) plus nothing else/Faith & faith alone!
This message ends with the completion of the Body of Christ (Jews & Gentiles) at the catching-up (1 Thes 4:13-18).
Once the church is removed (the Holy Spirit with it) the 144k will preach the gospel of the kingdom unto all the world (Matt 24:14) & then shall the end (of the age) come.
Eph 1:
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
(MY NOTE: They heard & believed (just like Cornelius) & were SEALED with that holy Spirit of promise)
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
(MY NOTE) The Holy Spirit is Christ/God's deposit/promise/down payment on a purchased possession, US! BOUGHT with His blood (1 Cor 6:20, 7:23) DONE DEAL! Amen.
Jesus did all the work & deserves all the glory. All we need to is have Faith in Him & He will do the rest. His forever indwelling Holy Spirit (Jn 14:16) will teach the believer to Love, which will result in Godly living. When FAITH is the root, good works will be the fruit!
