I am new to this site. I have issues with anger and feel I have angry demons inside of me.
I need someone to give me some insight here. Sometimes when I pray my body jerks around
and I feel like something is leaving my body, or trying to claw its way out. I was seriously
abused as a child. I want to rest in Jesus and know I am loved and accepted. Hard to feel
that way much of the time. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

Hi PriestessBlue.

I had problems with anger too. I was a believer but I didn't live my life for the Lord. I only ever really prayed when something went wrong. My life was just for myself and my own misery because my life was miserable. I was living with a man and wasnt legally wed to him. He had problems, which effected my life. Then, one day, something happened to me. God came into my life. I will never forget it. God became real to me. I felt God was there. Peace came and anger left. I read the Bible and couldn't stop. It became all I lived for. The whole world suddenly made sense. My tears for self became tears only for others. Eventually i was led away from the man I lived with and we don't have much to do with each other anymore. Life still has it's ups and downs. But - I can cope with them well now. I feel stronger.

When you experience Gods love, you never forget it. And when you pray and feel joy healing you, you never forget that. When you feel safe in life, and when you remember what it's like to not feel safe, then theres no way you would ever want to go back to feeling scared, alone, and dead spiritually.

It took 30 something years of my life for this to happen. When it does, anger is not an issue anymore.
The first thing God did with me though was discipline me. I had to change some things.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."

If your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, can demons reside in it? Can demons reside where light is? No, Darkness flees from light. Demons have no power over our spirit because it was bought by the blood of Jesus and it belongs to him and it is redeemed and clean. Now, our flesh hasn't been redeemed yet, that will happen at the last trump.

1 Corinthians 15:52 "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."

Your flesh which is not redeemed is being tempted and you're giving in, either it's because you haven't given that anger to the Lord or it's because you have a disorder and need some medical help, which you should not feel ashamed of if true. Some people have Anger disorders where they just can't control themselves without medicine, those are real, caused by your brain not creating the correct amount of certain chemicals in your brain. Pray to the Lord, ask him what's going on but keep in mind the things that it could be. It could be a psychiatric disorder or it could just be that you're giving in to your flesh and you need to give your anger to Jesus.

1 Peter 5:6-7 "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you"

One thing I know from experience is that demons are very real and they hate it when you call on the name of Jesus, because the name of Jesus is where all the power of God resides. When you pray you need to call upon his name "Jesus" and plead the blood of Jesus against all powers and principalities that is set out to destroy you and allow God to break down the strong holds in your life. If you hand over all your issues to him, he is faithful and just to take care of them. Pray also that he will send help for your deliverance. If you truly desire and have a willing heart to be free from demonic influences you shall be free indeed as I trust that God will hear your cry and deliver you out of all your afflictions.

Hi Joshua.

I have to disagree with you there. I don't believe there's any magic pill that can cure anger or any such thing. Actually pills can cause anger. It's a well known fact, that prozac etc can cause homicidal or suicidal thoughts. As well as worsen depression and anger.

Anger is frustration, which I believe Jesus referred to as the gnashing of teeth and outer darkness. God is love and God is light.

I'll post something shortly to do with the two Spirits that can be on a man, from the Sheppard of Hermas.

Note on Hermas:

The Shepherd of Hermas (Greek: Ποιμήν του Ερμά; Hebrew: רועה הרמס‎; sometimes just called The Shepherd) is a Christian literary work of the second century, considered a valuable book by many Christians, and considered canonical scripture by some of the early Church fathers - The Shepherd had great authority in the second and third centuries. Along with the Apocrypha, it was bound with in the Codex Sinaiticus, and it was listed between the Acts of the Apostles and the Acts of Paul in the stichometrical list of the Codex Claromontanus.

Sixth Commandment

HOW TO RECOGNISE THE TWO SPIRITS ATTENDANT ON EACH MAN,
AND HOW TO DISTINGUISH THE SUGGESTIONS OF THE ONE FROM THOSE OF THE OTHER.

CHAPTER I.

"I gave you," he said, "directions in the first commandment to attend to faith, and fear, and self-restraint." "Even so, sir," said I. And he said, "Now I wish to show you the powers of these, that you may know what power each possesses. For their powers are double, and have relation alike to the righteous and the unrighteous. Trust you, therefore, the righteous, but put no trust in the unrighteous. For the path of righteousness is straight, but that of unrighteousness is crooked. But walk in the straight and even way, and mind not the crooked. For the crooked path has no roads, but has many pathless places and stumbling-blocks in it, and it is rough and thorny. It is injurious to those who walk therein. But they who walk in the straight road walk evenly without stumbling, because it is neither rough nor thorny. You see, then, that it is better to walk in this road." "I wish to go by this road," said I. "You will go by it," said he; "and whoever turns to the Lord with all his heart will walk in it."

CHAPTER II.

"Hear now," said he, "in regard to faith. There are two angels with a man--one of righteousness, and the other of iniquity." And I said to him, "How, sir, am I to know the powers of these, for both angels dwell with me?" "Hear," said he, and "understand them. The angel of righteousness is gentle and modest, meek and peaceful. When, therefore, he ascends into your heart, forthwith he talks to you of righteousness, purity, chastity, contentment, and of every righteous deed and glorious virtue. When all these ascend into your heart, know that the angel of righteousness is with you. These are the deeds of the angel of righteousness. Trust him, then, and his works.

Look now at the works of the angel of iniquity. First, he is wrathful, and bitter, and foolish, and his works are evil, and ruin the servants of God. When, then, he ascends into your heart, know him by his works." And I said to him, "How, sir, I shall perceive him, I donor know." "Hear and understand" said he. "When anger comes upon you, or harshness, know that he is in you; and you will know this to be the case also, when you are attacked by a longing after many transactions, and the richest delicacies, and drunken revels, and divers luxuries, and things improper, and by a hankering after women, and by overreaching, and pride, and blustering, and by whatever is like to these. When these ascend into your heart, know that the angel of iniquity is in you. Now that you know his works, depart from him, and in no respect trust him, because his deeds are evil, and unprofitable to the servants of God.

These, then, are the actions of both angels. Understand them, and trust the angel of righteousness; but depart from the angel of iniquity, because his instruction is bad in every deed. For though a man be most faithful, and the thought of this angel ascend into his heart, that man or woman must sin.

On the other hand, be a man or woman ever so bad, yet, if the works of the angel of righteousness ascend into his or her heart, he or she must do something good. You see, therefore, that it is good to follow the angel of righteousness, but to bid farewell to the angel of iniquity. "This commandment exhibits the deeds of faith, that you may trust the works of the angel of righteousness, and doing them you may live to God. But believe the works of the angel of iniquity are hard. If you refuse to do them, you will live to God."

Relax there are no demons inside you. But if you are having involuntary spasms I'd recommend a doctor. But whatever you do, do not go to some fundamentalist priest or something of the sort to exorcise a demon(which do not exist) because it can be psychologically damaging.

Well I've witnessed it myself and know. Medication is not a bad thing if not abused.

Don't listen to the jerks who say you're making it up. It's a real problem and it's spreading. I'm trying to figure it out myself, as it is absolutely unfair that they use actions that have no volition of your own part as excuses to invade you.

Well thank you to all who replied. I honestly feel there is something inside of me. I have prayed to God and asked for help. I am ready for Him to deal with this anger. If it means meds, fine, I actually have no issue with that as I have been diagnosed with major depression now for many years, however, I want His word on the matter. I am tired of the anger and frustration - I do think my brain chemistry was altered when I was being abused and the anger sometimes just spills out. But I know there is a demonic interference here - what I have felt is terrifying at times. Blessings to all!!

Priestessblue,
Anger is a terrible thing. I know trust me. I used to get so frustrated and angry, I would yell so loud - everyone would hear me. I would even get a sore throat. If looks could kill I'm sure mine would have. I would say things too that I later regretted because the person wouldn't speak to me ever again, or if they did it would take a while.
So, that was me then and this is me now. However, the source of my anger is no longer in my life after 20 years. My problem was supressed anger. I would try and be nice, and deny my feelings. However eventually it would catch up with me and then I would let it all out at once, verbally. I'v found this is still a bit of an issue with me. I think I need to sort things out as they happen rather than let them carry on.

Peace and love to you my friend, you'll be ok.

Joshua, I guess it depends on the individual. I know it can work for some people, but there's a percentage of others where it can have the opposite effect, and to me it's just not worth the gamble. I'v seen the opposite effect. I'v seen the real bad side of medication, as others have. God is our healer, not man. That's my opinion though. Only my opinion. But I don't think a pill can cure anger as theres usually a reason why.

Did God not make the things that man makes medicine with? We eat food that God provides, are you not going to eat food and say that God is our provider and not food? God is our Provider so take what he provides, whether it be medicine or spiritual healing, both can come from God.

Joshua, yes. Vitamins, Diet and rest. I have seen a person suffering medication induced Psychosis which lingered even well after the medication was stopped, be cured with prayer and with high dose Vitamins. Example, there is something called Pellagra(sp) which is caused by a lack of Niacin (B3?) and another called Beri-Beri which is caused by lack of Thiamine (B1?). Both cause depression, dementia, etc, and the results of vitamin treatment is sometimes almost instant. And of course vitamins come from food. This is helpfull especially if the person has a medical condition such as malabsorbtion disease. However man made medications are just different.

Either way God Provides and I have personally seen him provide for my mother with man made medicine that me and my father prayed for. All I'm saying is that if the right medication comes along, it shouldn't be rejected, sometimes God gives us what is effective and we deny it because we want it in a different way.(Like the manna from heaven that the Israelites complained about) I'm just saying that it's not wrong to accept medication if it truly helps and in my mother's case it did, either way, God is the provider not man.
