Philip was speaking to a former pagan, and so he gave that man what he could in the short time he had with the man!

What REALLY does it take to bring others to maturity? Discipleship...face to face, over a period of time, right? He knew he would have no such luxury with that Ethiopian, so he equipped him as best he could, and to pretend as though that is the absolute formula that works for everyone... Really? Philip, filled with Holy Spirit gave to that man what Holy Spirit directed, and I challenge ANYONE to find in that formula, in its context, a revelation that the formula therein is what is to be preached to all the world!

Come on! Please! Let's remain biblical while exercising EXegetical (extracted from) analysis rather than EISegetical (injected into) analysis.

In the examples of the bible none of the conversions resulted after some extensive period of study. What does being a pagan have to do with anything regarding the conversion of the Ethiopian eunuch? Nothing! So, what's your point? The facts are Philip preached Christ which preaching of the gospel obviously included the need for baptism. The eunuch believed, confessed his belief, and was baptized. He was saved at that point.

DJT_47,
You are quite correct and is obvious to most. But.......

Many here are neck deep into faith alone regeneration theology and hence cannot see past their church bias. You are simply banging your head against a brick wall. But your effort is noble.

Forcing yourself to believe in faith alone regeneration theology is the worst attempt to prove your worth before God.

God expects from us humbleness of heart not mental gymnastics or blind faith in a doctrine without an example.

"God did we not force ourselves to believe the foolishness of our church teachings? Did we not become fools of faith alone regeneration theology?

Prove my worth to God?

The only worth I have is eternal damnation which I deserve based on all I have done,

Humbleness? How humble are you when you pump your chest and claim your worthy?

Thats pride man, Not humility. The humble falls on his face.. The proud pump their chests. Like your doing

Personally, I'm done with these scriptural fool's Lamar, who go to extreme and ridiculous measures to twist language and distort the simple truth, in vain attempts to justify an unscriptural position. They are not worthy of further consideration or continued dialog. They have no interest in saving souls and simply want to waste time trying to show everyone how 'knowledgeable' (what a joke) and righteousness they are. Sad but true.

Its ok,

At least we can make the word of God agree.

Continue to try to save yourself while you are calling those who trust Christ fools.

The Word of God is and always been in agreement. It is the followers of faith alone regeneration theology that find the need to force it to agree with their twisted theology.

If you feel the need "to make the word of God agree", you may need to rethink your theology.

It is not our job to "make the word of God agree".

This is your pride talking.

Not with your interpretation it is not

yet we can interpret scripture in a way it does not contradict. You can not

If I were to repent and follow you I would be making a huge mistake. I would need to twist the word of God. and I would be no better than the jews.. who also tried to add works to their theology. so bad in fact Paul had to call them fools.

To all of the followers of faith alone regeneration theology. Remember the foolishness of the Pharisees.

John 8:33
New International Version

They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"We have put the scriptures into harmony and understand that God does not demand obedience but instead commands the belief in faith alone regeneration theology. How can you say that we must be water baptized for the remission of our sins?

To all the followers of faith plus works theology, remember the foolishness of the jews.

Gal 3:
3 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you [a]that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed [b]among you as crucified? 2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? 4 Have you suffered so [c]many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?

5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?— 6 just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” 7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.

1 Corinthians 1:18 - For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

2 Corinthians 4:3 - But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the God of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Ephesians 2:8 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Its amazing, the pharisees crucified Christ. because he told them what we are telling these souls..yet they can't see their own pride..

Romans 10:1 - Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

it is quite telling that water baptism was not in the law to wash sins away. but there are some who say water baptism is the fulfillment of the law today.

This statement shows how little you really understand the Gospel and the offer of salvation. And the Pharisees have nothing to say about this. They believed that the works of the Law would save them.

And followers of faith alone regeneration theology believe that their acceptance of this narrative will save them. Not the blood of Jesus but their affirmation of this "harmony of scripture".
