What is pride? Is pride always sin? If not, when does pride become sin?

Apparently the sin of pride is more common among women than men. How do you think the sin of pride is exhibited in women (and men)?
https://www.plansponsor.com/men-and-women-sin-differently/
Right. We should definitely consult a Catholic survey and then put it under a microscope.

From the site you link to:

“Men and women sin in different ways,” Msgr Wojciech Giertych, theologian to the papal household, wrote in L’Osservatore Romano, according to the BBC. “When you look at vices from the point of view of the difficulties they create you find that men experiment in a different way from women.”

Catholics are supposed to confess their sins to a priest, who absolves them in God’s name, at least once a year. However, the report came amid Vatican concerns about the declining rate of confessions.

Priests cannot absolve their little finger from sin never mind anyone elses' sin. IMO, this is just nonsense. There is not a sin that is not forgiven (except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit) and cleansed by the blood of Christ when we go to HIM and ask for forgiveness.

Does anyone really think people really and truly confess all their sins to a priest? I certainly don't and I don't think it matters which sin is committed by who or which sex. Sin separates us from God and ONLY Jesus can bridge that gap.

Why are certain sins...called the 7 deadly sins....focused upon? Is there some sin that does not kill?

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

Especially when you consider the Apple logo. What was the original sin? Eve eating of the forbidden fruit. Notice the stem at the top of the "apple" logo fits neatly into the bite-hole. I don't believe in coincidences.

Maybe the apple logo means forbidden knowlege.

...and that fruit was taken from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In other words, the knowledge of both good and evil are much more accessible now through the use of computers.

While we are on the topic of food, I miss your chicken hat...lol.
So...uh....is that by looking up good and evil? LOL! Your pc or laptop only follows your fingers so maybe not the computer after all

Do you know what the price of the very first Apple computer was?

It was $666.66.

https://inshorts.com/en/news/why-was-apples-first-computer-sold-for-$66666-1491907701622

Coincidence?

I doubt it.
I was in the 7th Grade Middle School, at Fairmount, in Science class, when the teacher presented us this version of the Apple Home Base Computer. And he, being a true Atheist back in the early 80's, let us all come up, touch it, move the mouse and see the cursor correspond, type a couple of the keys, etc. And then said, you just touched the Mark of the Beast and it costs only 666.

I have never forgotten that moment.

Most people somehow think humility is self debasement....

It isn't.

It's not prideful to claim you have a skill. Especially when you're good at it.

It's prideful to claim that you are the best in the world (unless you have a very recent award stating such...then it falls into humility again)

It is also prideful to think that a skill is the "be all, end all" over and above other talents.

Proud Mary

lol

Jesus discouraged pride by giving glory to his Father.
If you do have a skill or gift its given to you by Father (from above)

Women might have worshipped Mary for bearing Jesus but she could not be proud simply cos she bore him, God had chosen her because she was humble not because of anything else. Jesus said those that were his mother, sisters, brothers were those who did the will of God.

So helicopter mothers, tiger mothers and those who take credit for their children are a bit mistaken, or those who think it was just because they have good looks lol

Rgarding pride parades etc. It seems to me everyone judges on outward appearance when there is nothing inside they can see. I also find it a bit weird that often men dislike fat women. But fat women could be pregnant! They should be treating them with care. lol Why do women have to be thin all the time? Naturally thin and slender women also get teased and harassed all the time.

Paul also had Satan buffet him around to stop him from becoming too proud. Paul was smart, but remember he was a former Pharisee. Pharisees had every reason to be proud they were the creme de la creme of religious society.

Correct

2 Corinthians 12:7-9, " 7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Similar to this - 1 Samuel 16:14, “And the Spirit of יהוה turned aside from Sha’ul, and an evil spirit from יהוה troubled him.”

Yet the 12 disciples of Yahshua never had demons on them.

Also a demon (spirit of python) followed Paul and said Paul knew "the way of salvation"

Acts 16:16-17, “16 As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination (Python) and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling. 17 She followed Paul and us, crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.”

Pride is not a sin, it is "The Sin." Pride is the mother of all sins, from pride flows every sin that was ever conceived or committed. It is the cause of satan's fall and the single weapon he has to use against God's people. Pride is placing ourselves above God, just like he did. (But I agree with seekingthem, this is well understood.)

As for men and women, have you been watching how men's behavior has changed in the last 50 years? Vanity is surely not feminine any longer. Men and women are switching roles. Good luck with that!
pride is only one issue a lot of very humble people are deceitful stingy and many other things not rooted in thier own pride I’d say lust is an issue as well for many different things the issues like pride , lust , greed they are not actually sin but those are the motivations fornus to commit all kinds of sin

pride causes a lot , lust causes a lot , greed , hate and anger cause a lot even worldly fear can lead us into sin pride is among these

“These six things doth the LORD hate: Yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, Feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭6:16-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

and lives in us here note it is a subsection of many issues in men’s hearts we don’t all have all the same issues some really struggle with pride and some others other person can be truly humble by nature and not have a prideful bone in thoer body , but they can’t seem to tell the truth of thier life depends on it and if you ask them for a dime the next time you show up the lights are off and no one answers the door but you see people moving inside lol
sin has many roots and forms is my point

“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭

pride comes before a fall but so do many other forms of sin a humble adulterer is still an adulterer , a humble liar still isn’t telling the truth

Pride, is being being Created a little better than your Peers, given a Role above your peers, a Title that separates you from your peers, and a Seat next to the MOST HIGH GOD. But rather than you thinking, LOOK, at the graciousness of Almighty God has bestowed upon me and given to me. He is so Awesome! You think, I am EQUAL to God!

To the secular mind, this is sometimes a symbol of knowledge. Misguided, certainly, but I'm not sure Steve Jobs was thinking about sinful rebellion when he came up with this.

I did not blame the computer. I merely said that the knowledge of both good and evil is much more accessible now through the use of computers. Of course, the evil would only be sought after by people with evil intentions or desires.
