What is pride? Is pride always sin? If not, when does pride become sin?

Apparently the sin of pride is more common among women than men. How do you think the sin of pride is exhibited in women (and men)?
https://www.plansponsor.com/men-and-women-sin-differently/
Pride is sin and causes a person to think more highly of themselves than they should, and assert their own authority.

Psalms 10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

That is someone that is prideful they do not seek after God but it is all about exalting themselves.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Pride is of the world.

Genesis 3:5-6 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Eve committed all 3 things that is of the world mentioned in 1 John 2:16.

Satan told her they would be like gods knowing good and evil so Eve got lifted up in pride to exalt herself for she looked upon the fruit to make her wise, and be like a god.

Which Satan tries to get people to believe they are gods.

The new age movement interprets the Bible according to the occult and evolution, and people are still evolving to be spiritual, and a god, and Jesus evolved to be an ascended master, and there is no God, and the New Age Christ is the final teacher and above Jesus.

The new age movement follows Lucifer which they believe he is a god, and an alien.

They do not believe he is a fallen angel because they do not believe in a God.

God warns us of the new age movement that will come out at the latter times, their beliefs are of seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, their conscious is seared with a hot iron, and the time will come the world will not want to hear the truth of the Bible but according to the new age movement.

The lie again by Satan to convince them they are gods.

It is because of the new age movement that the. world rebels against God.

The new age movement is the beginning of the end which God is allowing Lucifer to deceive all people that do not love Him so He can end sin on earth.

I do not believe women are more prideful than men at least not in the sense that they have nothing to do with God which is really what the sin of pride is about.

A woman might be prideful in doing make up, and looking beautiful but that does not have anything to do with pride to reject a God.

Proverbs 21:19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

Proverbs 21:9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

Ecclesiastes 7:25-28. I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness: 26And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her. 27Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account: 28Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.

While this has nothing to do with pride they sure knew the nature of women.

When you say Paul has Satan do this can you give the reference ?
I know another said it but didn't post the verse, so here it is

2 Corinthians 12:7-9, " 7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass (Paul) me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Similar to this - 1 Samuel 16:14, “And the Spirit of יהוה turned aside from Sha’ul, and an evil spirit from יהוה troubled him.”

Yet the 12 disciples of Yahshua never had demons on them.

Also a demon (spirit of python) followed Paul and said Paul knew "the way of salvation"

Acts 16:16-17, “16 As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination (Python) and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling. 17 She followed Paul and us, crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.”

Its not wrong to have authority but it has to be given from above not below.

The serpent crawled on its belly...the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus like a dove. Jesus had authority given to him from heaven, and he in turn gave to his disciples. (Mary was one of them)

Women are actually given a lot more responsibility these days and authority and sometimes that is God-given though problems happen when men assume they are ALWAYS going to be downtrodden and under their thumb.

Women are actually not dumb, foolish creatures, despite the stereotype. But many women have to act dumb to fit in with the world as it is a mans world. Because of the fall.

Mary was actually the first disciple of Jesus to witness and preach about the resurrection and the men Jesus sent her to didn’t believe her …..

The person who brought it up did not post them so I was just providing the verses. As to why the spirit of python endorsed Paul is a whole other conversation.

Youre good, we have had disagreements and agreements but honestly after that im more open to any discussion, debate even if it gets heated, which it has not, but just saying, me, if I know someone actually believes and studies, and discusses, im ok with it, I just dont like when people get personal because that is a tactic to ignore the debate and make false accusations about someone to "win the debate" this is just my stance on debates aboutthe word, etc. Be well.

yeah I hear ya arguing is basic carnality discussing is different. Sometimes even a friendly discussion however also begins becoming repetetive and going in a circle. I’ve found sometimes a discussion needs to have time to sit and settle then some ofnthe value sinks in but often if there isn’t that time and rest it never is allowed to settle and sink in

discussions also require consideration and that takes some time sometimes

Also I think everyone assume people will see things their way, when the discussion needs to slow down and touch on each point before going to the next, I know I have made that error here and in real life.

“These six things doth the LORD hate: Yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue,
And hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, Feet that be swift in running
to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren.” Proverbs‬ ‭6:16-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

My study on Eldership did a deep dive on this. Sinful pride is not a singular issue. All humans will struggle with some form of sinful pride it just shows up in different ways in the way we address people or our situations around us daily.
Not only do we have to be watchful for arrogant pride-the more obvious one that makes the headlines but there is also fearful pride- the type that gets less attention and is easier to get by under the radar. But still just as sinful as arrogant pride.

There are unique heart idolatry that drive each one. We have to go in and find the root of the idolatry, expose it , confess and repent accepting Gods grace and come back to try again in humility under guidance of Holy Spirit not ourselves

Yes there’s a point that when we try to break what someone has said apart it loses all context and flow of what they are actually saying. I suppose people have different ways of communicating …..

I think that is a lot of why discussion dont go as well as they could, kind of talking past eachothers points, have to slow down a bit!

Just addressing the other persons views and Scripture, I think we can all just post other Scripture and assume the other person sees it as we do
