Acts 5:31. Him Christ hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and Savior, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
Acts 11:18

Repentance is not an action or work that originates in us, a condition that we fulfill, thus making ourselves worthy of God's election of us. On the contrary, repentance is a gift of Christ to us. That a man repents is due to the grace of God that works repentance in him.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

The gospel is sent out in order to chi ange how we who hear and believe Jesus think about God about ourselves our life and death the world ect that’s meant to change our minds and hearts from corrupt like he said above to bring sinners to repentance when Gods word comes along this happens to that heart that’s corrupt

“if so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; ( this brings repentance ) and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”

If I’m a believer and hear the lord sayong this it’s going to produce a need for repentance and change because I now believe the truth “ unless I repent I’m going to perish according to Jesus the lord “ this is meant to change a mind from “ everyone sins nonone is ever going to perish because of it “ over to the truth “ sinners are the same if they don’t repent they will perish “
at he gospel is literally about changing how mankind sees god and thinks about life itself that’s why this saves us
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”

the gospel holds a call to repentance comfort assurance mercy truth deliverance sight for the blind but when we reject what the truth has to say we’ll never come toninderstsnd we do need to stop sinning it’s serving Satan and his Will when we sin it isn’t serving God when we sin
our minds are really messed up from the world we need to fill them up with the gospel and God will give us repentance when we acknolwedge the truth
“in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

It’s why we share the gospel when a person believes and begins to take it seriously Jesus begins to teach them about eternal life in the gospel repentance is a part of that but until we accept it inside our minds and hearts we’ll always make reasons why we do t really need to repent it’s definately a result of the changed mind who hears and believes the gospel
