I don't think we should. Our family (my kids) did not but I did when I was a kid. And I remember also my older sister toying with occult activities like seances and Ouija board during Halloween. Here is something from the Churchofsatan website:

Some of my best childhood memories with going Trick or Treat on Halloween night, stayed out for hours. Hundreds of kids.
Well, All Hallows Eve and All Saints Day was supposed to be a christian replacement for the pagan festival of samhain, not sure that worked out all that well since those parts seemed to have been forgotten in modern times. I'd say it depends on what your celebrating, mind you for a lot of people it's nothing more than a costume party.

I've talked to young adults who messed with that stuff too. They sought our pastor's help in an emergency when a demon possessed one or more of the players and tried to kill them they said.
I remember my younger days as a non-believer young adult. I was a heavy drinker, among other things. But I remember on several Halloween nights as I was drinking and carousing, I had the strong feeling that something was not right. Trans people were out and about on that night, and that was probably part of why I was a bit creeped out - this was way back in the 70's and 80's when such things were not common in public.

I fully agree with you MichaelZ ( 2 Tim 1:7) I DID NOT!!! Give you a spirit of fear!!! Notice please that fear is a literal spirit!!! In EVERY case the Lord has used me to cast a spirit out of someone fear has always been the starting point for the person who became possessed, this as a former Satanist is the devil starting point to lay hold of a person! FEAR can control the mind or the thought realm which then leads to a person become fearful of almost anything after that!
Because of this some so afraid has sought devilish practices such as oujah boards or seances believing this would help them, which only leads to more fear and less control of their bodily functions. The two most important days to a Satanist are number 1 YOUR BIRTHDAY! and Number 2 Halloween which is the day of casting spells upon those who threaten exposing you or the Church.
The festival of Sowers where many years ago the blood ran red with children being sacrificed unto the master (which to a Satanist is the devil) To the commoner children it is about dressing up in a costume and getting candy. It was interesting but the last two years at my house I placed a large light cross in my front yard and no children came!! LOL I just thought some would find this information interesting!! Yeah, I don't care what anyone says I'm not celebrating halloween and neither will my future wife and kids!
We have a Harvest Fest at church where the families come with the kiddos. There is Christian entertainment for every age. This year is country western theme and volunteers pass out goodies at booths and just walking around. It was great fun last year for adults too
The real question is: Why should Christians celebrate Halloween?
When I was a kid (more than a few years ago), Halloween was fun and it was not satanic or macabre. We dressed up in all kinds of costumes, a sheet over our heads to be friendly ghost was as extreme as it ever got. There were lots of clowns, a few hobo's, robots, cowboys, and few Indians. The festivities started in the church basement with a costume contest where we all paraded in front of the judges trying our best to sell our costumes. Cake and punch followed and then we went out to "Trick-or-treat" our neighbors We got lots of treats but there were no tricks; our parents actually went with us.
Now it is a celebration of the worst of things, evil, death and gore.
