i think this is not such a shaded area and all so difficult as this has been made to be.

you cut your wrist, as you bleed out, should you get a CLUE, cry out for God while still in the last moments of your life, God, is Faithful and you will be in Heaven.

but, if you do not cry out to God, in those waning final precious seconds, you MADE your Choice where you want to [[GO]]!!

as long as time remains before death, and the conscious is aware, that Soul, has a Chance, based upon the final Choice they Make before death..

A fool and his money are soon parted. In some cases, a fool and his brain are soon parted. I'll leave each to themselves to decide where each applies.
So you then do believe a Christian can kill themselves... and they would go to Heaven?

The devil enjoys hearing that people believe this way as this helps his cause of getting as many in to hell as possible.

@JimmyTheLock why are you so angry and insulting?

There's iron sharpening iron & verbally spitting feathers.
I've seen devout Christians on medication where the manufacturers include a warning it can cause suicidal feelings. Sometimes people act on that. There must be loads of illnesses that cause impaired judgement? Someone with dementia, perhaps.
The sound mind is one at peace and thinking clearly. Not every Christian is blessed with that at all times.
I say that such a Christian, having impaired judgement, is saved.
OSAS doesn't enter into it.
Anything else is...feathers.
Oh, and please be careful with the graphic language you're using referring to suicide, this forum is open to 13 year olds. It's irresponsible.
Peace, love, respect.

I believe the spiritual nature estate the individual is in at the time of death determines their eternal estate. Either one is in Christ or not. This is what determines whether heaven or hell will be their destination. Thus, you may argue that someone who takes their own life is not saved. But you cannot argue someone who is saved is not saved.

Has someone close to you suicided? Just wondering.
I dont think its for us to say, but I think their families need to be comforted somehow, though many nonbelievers do not fear hell. I have heard some believers think they can go home this way if they plan it themselves.

Suicide is a terrible thing and not often talked about, but those whove attempted in the past may be able to say what stopped them or saved them from carrying it out. Let them speak.

I've heard half a dozen people say it was "the fear of what was on the other side" that stopped them. Non-Christians all.
Several people were brought back to life after a suicide attempt, one came to Christ. How that person survived, only God knows.
No churches I know locally help with those mentally ill, there's a great need for pastoral care for them. Also there aren't many Christian counsellors, another huge need within the Church.

I personally knew a woman who was saved, was a loving wife with three kids... but was bi-polar. Much of the time her meds worked to an extent, but not always. Due to an emotionally abusive husband, she ender her life with an overdose.

Your flilppant attitude toward mentally unbalanced people is totally uncalled for, and in a personal confrontation/discussion with a loved one of someone like this, would likely end up with an extended hospital stay for you. Deservedly so, in my opinion. You should be ashamed of yourself, hiding behind out of context scriptures, claiming to speak for God. Shame on you.

Agreed.

And, those that are abiding IN CHRIST... don't blow their brains out!

Your flilppant attitude toward mentally unbalanced people
Your flilppant attitude towards God's promises of deliverance are disturbing and very telling.... represents someone who is suffering from Cherry Picker's Syndrome (CPS) who does not actually accept the whole counsel of God.

In biblical times, "mentally unbalanced people" were those that had devils... Jesus and His Apostles cast them out... they did NOT treat demons with drugs and coddle them!

You obviously desire and seek to harm others physically that disagree with you... in many places around the country people are packing so you'd likely end up in the morgue. Careful what you wish for homie!

You should quit working for the devil and walk with Jesus Christ instead!

They need to do what Jesus taught... cast the devil out!

[Abimelech] called hastily unto the young man his armour-bearer, and said unto him, Draw thy sword, and slay me, that men say not of me, A woman slew him. And his young man thrust him through, and he died (Judges 9:54). Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed with all his might; and the house fell...upon all the people that were therein (Judges 16:30 Saul took a sword and fell on it (1 Sam. 31:4). When Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he...got him home to his house, to his city, and put his house in order, and hanged himself, and died (2 Sam. 17:23). It came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the palace of the king's house, and burnt the king's house over him with fire, and died (1 Kings 16:18). [Judas] cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself (Matt. 27:5). Did you ever wonder why none of the authors of these events frowned upon the actions of these men? I am not saying that I agree or disagree with suidide but historically it did not have a negative connotation in the West untill around the year 1500.

I read this and found in intelligent, balanced and helpful:

“The Bible views suicide as equal to murder, which is what it is—self-murder. God is the only one who is to decide when and how a person should die. We should say with the psalmist, “My times are in your hands” (Psalm 31:15).

God is the giver of life. He gives, and He takes away (Job 1:21). Suicide, the taking of one’s own life, is ungodly because it rejects God’s gift of life. No man or woman should presume to take God’s authority upon themselves to end his or her own life.

Some people in Scripture felt deep despair in life. Solomon, in his pursuit of pleasure, reached the point where he “hated life” (Ecclesiastes 2:17). Elijah was fearful and depressed and yearned for death (1 Kings 19:4). Jonah was so angry at God that he wished to die (Jonah 4:8). Even the apostle Paul and his missionary companions at one point “were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself” (2 Corinthians 1:8).

However, none of these men committed suicide. Solomon learned to “fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Elijah was comforted by an angel, allowed to rest, and given a new commission. Jonah received admonition and rebuke from God. Paul learned that, although the pressure he faced was beyond his ability to endure, the Lord can bear all things: “This happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead” (2 Corinthians 1:9).

So, according to the Bible, suicide is a sin. It is not the “greatest” sin—it is no worse than other evils, in terms of how God sees it, and it does not determine a person’s eternal destiny. However, suicide definitely has a deep and lasting impact on those left behind. The painful scars left by a suicide do not heal easily. May God grant His grace to each one who is facing trials today (Psalm 67:1). And may each of us take hope in the promise, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).

Well, that all changed in the New Covenant

1 Corinthians 3:16,17
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
If any man destroys the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Funny how they never mentioned 1 Corinthians 3:16,17

These folks must be suffering from acute Cherry Pickers Syndrome and just cannot bring themselves to talk about all the Lord has to say on this subject.

Suicide Funerals are very hard on family members. Many RCC members are told there is no hope. The eternal destination of the person who has taken their own life must remain with God and that person. We are to remember Life and say that person is with God now and all who die Go to God. It is appointed once for us to die, then the judgment.

Our thoughts must turn to those who are living. Lead them to Christ and mourn with those who are grieving. Saul was king yet died a horrible death, But David Mourned Saul and memorialized the king, too. Anyone who would at the funeral of a person who took their own life and tells those there he is not saved or in hell is no minister of Christ.

If you are referring to Jeremiah 29 then I can agree however the biblical definition here is demonic.
Lunatic ( is used a couple of times in scripture to reference the mentally ill; some who are born that way the soldiers son )n
Matthew 17 and some who are made to be that way ( such as King Nebuchadnezzar ) in Daniel 4

Actually.... under their false religion.... family members can pay the RCC a bunch of money and get their loved one out of hell even if they killed themselves.

It's all about the benjamins at the RCC and if you have enough benjamins to fork over they can work a deal for you rolleyes3.gif

The eternal destination of the person who has taken their own life must remain with God and that person.
Should we let all the cows get out... and then go shut the gate too???

The whole point of this is to let people know BEFORE they whack themselves that if they do this they will go to hell according to God's Word.

1 Corinthians 3:16,17
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
If any man destroys the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

If we claim they go to Heaven anyway, they encourages others to go ahead and whack themselves too!

Anyone who would at the funeral of a person who took their own life and tells those there he is not saved or in hell is no minister of Christ.
So we should tell them Lord that His Word is meaningless??? clueless-scratching.gif

Are we men pleasers? Or, should we please the Lord?

In other words... should we be tickling people's ears and tell them what they want to hear?
Or, should we tell them what God says in His Word?

You've never read in the Gospels how Jesus healed these people by casting the devils out?

I don't remember Jesus saying some are mentally ill and need the care of a physician, do you?
