Agreed, during war we need all the men we can get. I remember shortly after 9/11 there was a huge surge in enlisted men. From what I've read on Pearl Harbor, the same thing happened as well. Do you think the draft will ever be used again?

You do bring up a good question though. Defended by who... I don't think most American men would even be physically fit enough if they were even drafted. I suppose one could service in less physically taxing ways though.
I think half the country is disgusted defending these rich elitists who call them deplorable, irredeemable, and domestic terrorists. Who tell them to shut up at every turn, who when their homes were stolen during the mortgage meltdown said the criminals were too big to prosecute.

They are disgusted that on the one hand they print money to pay for foreign wars and launder the money back to win their fraudulent elections and on the other hand they open wide the borders to bring in 8 million illegals to keep wages low.

It is government of the people, by the people and for the people. When the government stops supporting the people you can expect the people will stop supporting the government.

When they use lawfare to remove the people's political candidate you can expect the people will remove themselves from the union.

When we refuse to acknowledge the past and remedy it in present, we can't expect anything but "a continuation of the same".
Yes. That I've already stated. But that's my point. You and others lament the present, but only offer the solution of copying the past. So you are actually arguing for more of the same, which only leads to more lamenting and more of the same. You haven't actually learned anything from history.

It puts Christians in a very bad light, seems like Israel is intent on destroying itself and other civilians because it is consumed with anger and vengeance and here we have Christians defending what is clearly evil for the sake of some supposed greater good.
.
Yes, we need to eradicate terrorists. We did it with ISIS !! Remember when they sent Christians up into the mountains for fear of their lives?! We called them victims!! And we killed the terrorists! To sane people, that is a good thing!!

If you loved one was held hostage right now, you'd be angry, and you'd want something done about it. If you deny that you're a liar!! Like I said, we have a phrase that says " War is hell", not "Yippee more war!" smh

Those who support Israel, or any country for that matter unequivocally,
and have done so based solely on an emotional attachment, seem to have a distinct inability to face reality and the facts.
Don't put words in my mouth. I did not say I support Israel unequivocally. I support their right to defend their homeland and their people. They have 1% of the land in the ME and people like you want them to give that up!
Israel is only democracy in the ME. And if you think the Arabs are such fun folk and the Jews are the bad ones, I suggest you go live in a Muslim majority country and come and tell us how good they treat Christians there. All these morons here in the US hollering about Palestinians rights would be murdered flat out if the stepped a toenail in a Muslim country. Gays, feminists, trans, abortion supporters, Christians, any kind of freedom for women, gone! And if you think you're going to change them, you better open a history book.

@Cameron143 do you believe them this time? I have lost track of how many times they have told you this! .:giggle:
Not sure. One is always welcome to take their ball and leave. Unfortunately, we all are less for that eventuality.

The claim has been made that Israel is indiscriminately killing civilians. It's a false claim. Israel has the ability militarily to destroy all life in Gaza. What it is doing is systematically degrading the military ability of Hamas. They are targeting militarily personnel and supplies. The civilian casualties are caused by Hamas using their own citizenry as shields.
Oh my land some sanity. I was starting to get worried.

I would suggest that it is you and others who are reacting emotionally. No one here is celebrating the loss of these lives. That is the practice of the depraved who do such and take pleasure in others who do so. But the only solution is to destroy Hamas and put measures in place to ensure that another group of their ilk is not allowed in.
Just, thank you for the common sense.

I gave a solution that in the long term saves countless more lives than anything you propose. You don't even have a solution that makes sure this doesn't happen again. What you envision actually ensures ongoing civilian deaths. But by all means, think you care more because you make an appeal for current lives to the detriment of a multitude more future lives.
Every president has fallen in this pit since 48. Not one has come up with a solution. I don't believe there will be until Jesus comes. But if some sort of peace can be made till then, I hope someone can do so.

I haven't offered solutions of the past... Israel hasn't withdrew it's settlers from the West Bank or East Jerusalem. Israel hasn't ended it's blockade on Gaza.

In 2020, Trump explicitly called Netanyahu out for "never wanting to make peace with Palestinians". The left also didn't want Trump's "Ultimate Deal" to come to fruition because it would mean Trump would have been responsible for one of the biggest peace deals in history. As critical of Trump as I am, this dude would have a big notch on his belt if Netanyahu wasn't so war hungry.

Israel is not a Christian nation and no one should imagine that it is. Israel exists because God willed it so. Israel is plain evidence that God can keep His promises in spite of every obstacle being placed in the way. Israel should have been stillborn. Hardly any military, an airforce of obsolete aircraft and no Navy defeated 5 invading Arab armies. As prophesied, Israel is the nation "born in one day".
Thank you for pointing out that historical and biblical fact! And we know that Israel is blinded for a time. They will recognize their Messiah and will grieve. We know this to be true because it's in the Word. Of course Israel isn't right in all they do, no more than America is. But in this instance, I don't see where they are wrong.

Palestinians were not driven out. 20% of Israel's population is Arab. They have the same rights as any other Israeli citizen. Palestinians left at the behest of the 5 enemies of Israel. The idea was that they would return as soon as Israel was destroyed. 75 years later, Palestinians are still waiting. Why? Because God has seen to it that Israel remains a visible testimony to His power.

Romans 11:25-27

"I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you will not be conceited: A hardening in part has come to Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come from Zion; He will remove godlessness from Jacob. And this is My covenant with them when I take away their sins.”
Nothing to add but thanks for posting. You said it all.

If a shooter goes into a school and holds a gun to a child's head do the police just go and kill everyone to get to the one with the gun?
Many would argue that the police should kill everyone in the room to "save lives". They should "target" the shooter while simultaneously blowing everyone up. In this, they can say they were targeting the shooter and the other 20 students were just "collateral damage".

It's a ridiculous scenario in that there is no real comparison.

False Equivalence - the fallacy of apples and oranges:

1.) Although we should always have compassion for innocent life, it is nonetheless a false equivalence to compare a school shooting to a war.

2.) A war, just or unjust, is a different category, and should be debated according to the principles and issues which apply.

3.) I'm not claiming it's not open to debate; I'm claiming that logic still applies when everyone is upset... whether we like it or not.

It's a good time to remind everyone, that this absence of logic is the very reason that Jews around the world, who had no involvement in any of this, are suddenly being targeted and attacked.

No we are talking about non-combatants/civilians/ innocent people and in law they are regarded the same so you need to be better informed.

You were comparing a school shooting to war, that is ridiculous, that's my point.

Historically, this has already happened many times.

.

You wouldn't know it talking to some here. To them Hamas and Israel are the same. Not that Hamas are terrorists and Israel is the only democracy in the ME. Like I said, if you don't think there is a difference, you need to go live in a Muslim majority theocracy and see if you want to side with them so much.

Pointing out similarities is not suggesting they are the same. Hamas is a terrorist organization and I've said I don't think Israel is a terrorist state, though they are committing war crimes which are terroristic in nature.
