The "wrath upon this people" and "Jerusalem will be trodden down" causes me to think of the judgements of the seven-year Tribulation.
Consider:
--"and
wrath upon this people" (Lk21:23) falls within the part of the Olivet Discourse speaking of the events surrounding "70ad" (
vv.12-24a,b... whereas part
c of v.24 extends on further from there);
--the events surrounding 70ad (vv.12-24a,b) are said to come "
BEFORE ALL these [
BEFORE ALL these "beginning of birth pangs" just spoken of/described in vv.8-11 (also in Matt24:4-8 and Mk13:5-8)--which are EQUIVALANT to the "future" SEALS of Rev6 at the START of the 7-yr period commonly called the Tribulation period leading up to Christ's Second Coming to the earth,
i.e. within the "IN QUICKNESS [NOUN]" time-period that
Rev1:1 [/1:19c / 4:1] speaks of [
i.e. within the 7 yrs])
--"and
wrath upon this people" (in the 70ad events) CORRESPONDS with what we see said
in Matthew 22:7 "But when the king heard
thereof,
he was wroth:
and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city"--corresponding also to what Jesus had SAID on Palm Sunday / His triumphal entry day (Lk19:41-44 [Zech9:9] about "the city" / Jerusalem),
AND with what He had previously said in
Matt24:2 / Mk13:2 / Lk21:5-6 (about the temple, etc--
same as we see in the SEQUENTIALLY-WRITTEN passage of the Dan9:24-27 passage,
in v.26b about "the city and the sanctuary")
Israel shall flee into the widerness at this time.
Yes, the ones in Judaea will "FLEE" at the MID-trib point, when 1260 days are yet remaining (same time-frame as the "42 months" spoken of in Rev11:2 I mentioned in my previous post, i.e. the time-frame of "the
GREAT tribulation" aka
the second half of the entire period, which is kicked off by the "AOD" [Matt24:15-16 / Dan12:11 "SET UP"])
