the text indicates "has become like one of ((The)) Us" is only referring to Adam, not Eve --

View attachment 257426

  • "ha-adam" is equivalent to specifically calling Adam specifically by name
  • the grammar is singular not plural
therefore i believe that the "become like" God doesn't have anything to do with having eaten the tree of death, but with Adam in faith having renamed his wife "mother of life" when he heard God say "The Seed of the Woman" will bring salvation by crushing the head of the serpent.

it is by faith we enter into Him, Our Husband

:)

same, here

Interesting take. I will have to put on my Berean hat and investigate further. The hat is different from my Beanie hat, which is just for kicks.

Has become like one of us knowing good and evil...

Genesis 3:22
New International Version
And the LORD God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

New Living Translation
Then the LORD God said, “Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!”

English Standard Version
Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—”

Berean Standard Bible
Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil. And now, lest he reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever...”

King James Bible
And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

...
the thing is that, is Satan lying when he tells Woman that eating the tree of death will make her ike God? 🤔
He always lies!

the text allows the interpretation that, no, he's full of $#&@, and i tend towards that assumption ((John 8:44))....

and i end up with this result that beautifully coincides with the gospel. it does not mean Eve is unsaved - - they are both reclothed with innocent-blood clothes made by God's own hand - - it just means that becoming like Him isn't a result of disobediently eating death, but a result of responding to His promises with belief!

that Satan lied.
that salvation is by grace through faith.

No, I do not willingly or knowing do sinful things.

YOU sounds like you enjoy doing sin and think of yourself as a sinner... so let yo freak fglag fly and do all the sinful things you want. Knock yo selfs out homie!

Opinions are like belly buttons... everybody has one!

That's laughable! View attachment 257413 Don't include me in your sinful lifestyle homie!

1 John 3:6
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not

1 John 2:4
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 1:6
if we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

1 John 2:1
I write these things unto you, that ye sin not

James 4:17
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

We should not be willingly or knowingly doing sinful things... it should be a very rare occasion for a Christian to sin and IF they did it would NOT be a situation where it's something they knew it was sinful and they decided to do it anyway.

So you deny that those washed in the Blood of Jesus having been born again and are abiding in Christ... are still not in right standing with the Lord?

If so, you are still lost in your sin and have not believed the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

1 John 3:7
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Being gay is an abomination unto the Lord which is a worse sin than someone who is sinning doing sex the way God intended... between a man and a woman.

Anytime someone take what God created to be a certain way and perverts it... it's an abomination

All sex outside of a man and a women in marriage is sin... but same sex union is an abomination which is greater sin.
lying is a sin and you are lying.

lying is a sin and you are lying.
i haven't read the thread, but i'm familiar enough with his posting style.

you know, we should pity "Jimmy", and pray for him. all he's done is lower the bar of the Law of God, and of sin, to the point of his own performance. it's tragic, really.

You believe God does not have the power and ability to make someone righteous???

That's not believing what God's Word teaches at all....
Let me just ask you point blank:

is Jesus a liar when He says no one is righteous but God alone?

At that particular point in time in history when He said that... no, He was not lying.

Once the New Covenant came in to being and God washed people in the Blood of the Lamb to MAKE them righteous... that's a different time after Jesus said what He said.

There was a big event that happened after Jesus said what He said... care to take a gander at what they might be???

You gotta start rightly dividing the Word of Truth there homie! thumbsup2.gif

You do understand that we are not actually righteous in and of ourselves. We are seen by God as being righteous because we are in Christ who actually is righteous. His righteousness is imputed to us; not imparted to us.

you've never read Romans 3:10 either?
((written almost 60 years after the cross))

never heard of 1 John 1:8?
((written over 100 years after the cross))

your ignorance is truly amazing
for an absolutely perfect man, i would have expected more basic knowledge of scripture

i guess a person can be perfect and clueless at the same time, wow

lowering the bar, yes

that's the crux of the "sinlessly perfect" crowd - they take a very low view of what constitutes sin, which ultimately is a very low view of the holiness of God.

sin is not just transgression of the Law. it is all that is not of faith, and all that falls short of the glory of God. and all this is transgression of the Law too - when we understand perfectly the Law.

any post of JimmyTheLock's, i could rip apart showing how far from God every word is. i could do that with any post by anyone. but that would be equally wicked of me to do - and every measure with which i condemned would condemn me too.

that is what we need to watch for when dealing with people who believe things like this. the temptation is to search out fault in them - but that is sin, too, for us to do.

we must simply glorify Our God - and enjoy Him always

Debate vs Hostility:

If people are here to debate doctrine, and we politely do that... I don't think that qualifies as sin.
It's a necessity.
It's a necessity because "testing" our knowledge is simply how we learn, and how all knowledge grows.
Debate is nothing more than COMPARING AND CONTRASTING, using logic and evidence, to see which things are true.
This is just how humans learn and test knowledge.

Now, if we're debating Jimmy because we're angry, or we have some other emotional thing going on... that would be a problem.
Since we're all human, we're always prone to "some emotional thing"... so it's something we always have to watch for.

Overall, polite debate is healthy, but it's always a good idea to keep an eye on our own imperfection....
because unlike Jimmy...
I think it's entirely possibly that I might just sin sometime.
: )
