Too many people are doing sinful things and calling them mistakes, which is just an excuse to continue in sin which makes them to no longer be in right standing with the Lord according to Gal 6:7,8 among others..
Each one must give account solely for themselves. Everyone has a Bible (or free access to a Bible on the Internet).

At the same time the full Gospel must be preached at all times, and this is not really being done. But the Gospel is still there very clearly presented in the Bible. There are also too many false teachers around, but again that is not an excuse. One can simply ignore them.

Jesus says: 'Do your first Works!' Rev 2:5
Today they say: 'It's not of Works'

Jesus says: 'Produce deeds Worthy of Repentance', Matthew 3:8
Today they say: 'Admit your a sinner and confess'

Jesus says thru John: 'He who Does what is Right is Righteous', 1 John 3:7
Today they say: 'No one is Righteous'

Jesus says: 'Judge Righteous Judgment', John 7:24
Today they say: 'Judge not'

Jesus says thru James: 'Cleanse Self of all Filthiness and Wickedness', James 1:21
Today they say: 'All our acts are filthy rags'

Jesus says thru Paul: 'Depart from iniquity, go and sin no more', 2 Tim 2:19
Today they say: 'If I could stop sinning I wouldn't need Jesus

Jesus also said he that sins is the servant of sin, John 8:34
Today they say: blah, blah, blah
Yes.

One of the biggest fallacies today is the claim that obedience to the 10 Commandments is "works."

It is not.

It can't be works as it is the Spirit of Christ who inspires and enables the obedience, just as He obeyed in the flesh.

The modern church, and the majority of Christendom today, is led by wolves - just as the Bible told us it would be. Only those who seek diligently will find the Truth hidden within the pages of The Book that no enemy has yet been able to destroy.

but YOU are a sinner and [if you were saved] you are still saved
No, I do not willingly or knowing do sinful things.

YOU sounds like you enjoy doing sin and think of yourself as a sinner... so let yo freak fglag fly and do all the sinful things you want. Knock yo selfs out homie!

... here's how I know that you don't.
Opinions are like belly buttons... everybody has one!

All sin is wilful, you know you are doing it. stop kidding yourself.
That's laughable! laughing.gif Don't include me in your sinful lifestyle homie!

1 John 3:6
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not

1 John 2:4
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 1:6
if we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

1 John 2:1
I write these things unto you, that ye sin not

James 4:17
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

We should not be willingly or knowingly doing sinful things... it should be a very rare occasion for a Christian to sin and IF they did it would NOT be a situation where it's something they knew it was sinful and they decided to do it anyway.

it is the same Jesus Who also said no one is righteous but God alone.
So you deny that those washed in the Blood of Jesus having been born again and are abiding in Christ... are still not in right standing with the Lord?

If so, you are still lost in your sin and have not believed the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

1 John 3:7
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Why do you think homosexuality is a worse sin than adultery?
Being gay is an abomination unto the Lord which is a worse sin than someone who is sinning doing sex the way God intended... between a man and a woman.

Anytime someone take what God created to be a certain way and perverts it... it's an abomination

All sex outside of a man and a women in marriage is sin... but same sex union is an abomination which is greater sin.

no, i affirm that what Christ said is true:
no one is righteous but God alone.

those washed in His blood do not have a righteousness of their own, but have the righteousness of their substitionary Lamb attributed to them ((cfe Philippians 3:9))

@JimmyTheLock by saying what you did:

Jesus says thru John: 'He who Does what is Right is Righteous', 1 John 3:7
Today they say: 'No one is Righteous'
You sure seem to pit scripture against scripture, insinuating that God is a liar in Psalm 14:20, Psalm 53:3, Mark 10:28 and Romans 3:11 ((plus others))

why would you do that?

and why would you answer me argumentatively when i do nothing more than quote the very words of Jesus Christ to you?

i do not typically browbeat people, but you make extraordinary claims about your own righteousness, so i have to ask, how is it you believe yourself to be faultless when you do things like this?

do you really believe your OP was written in perfect wisdom?
i don't.

and i think that brings your sinless perfectionism doctrine into serious question. forgive me but a claim such as this demands extreme examination, and yours fails the sniff test. claims of perfection must be measured against God Himself, and you don't sound like God to me. you sound like a man.

YOU sounds like you enjoy doing sin and think of yourself as a sinner...
so you are unaware of 1 Corinthians 13:7, that love always trusts?

that's why you slanderously accused @Evmur?

because you never do such things willingly or knowingly?

i am forced to presume you have never read Matthew 7:1-3, since you would never have written your reply to @Evmur or post #1 in this thread if you had, because you are 200% perfect in everything you do according to your own knowledge at all times?

wow, so, now that i have mentioned these small verses, sooooo excited to read your next beautiful holy perfect divine replies!!!

we're about to be blessed y'all!! :love::love:
now whenever @JimmyTheLock writes it will be exactly as God Almighty Himself has spoken!! @JimmyTheLock NEVER stumbles!!!

IF knowing good and evil is the basis for doing good and not doing evil, then... why did Adam get cast out of the garden for becoming like God when he ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil?

God did agree that Adam and Eve had become like Him in knowing good and evil. Eating of
the tree of the knowledge of good and evil opened their eyes to the fact that they had done
evil. There is obviously a difference there since God knows good and evil yet is only good.

So then, knowing good and evil doesn't necessarily result in goodness. In fact, it only shows us how evil we actually are, would or wouldn't you agree?

Yes, and it certainly showed them that going against God was evil...

How crazy would they have seemed if, when they heard the Lord approaching, instead of hiding they ran up to Him and said, "Hey Lord, look! We're all good!"

the text indicates "has become like one of ((The)) Us" is only referring to Adam, not Eve --

  • "ha-adam" is equivalent to specifically calling Adam specifically by name
  • the grammar is singular not plural
therefore i believe that the "become like" God doesn't have anything to do with having eaten the tree of death, but with Adam in faith having renamed his wife "mother of life" when he heard God say "The Seed of the Woman" will bring salvation by crushing the head of the serpent.

it is by faith we enter into Him, Our Husband

I wasn't sure if I should laugh at this thought  but, it was reflective of my initial thought at any rate. :giggle:
Happens to me all the time. And it doesn't really matter if you found humor in it and others didn't. Only that you did.
