You do understand that we are not actually righteous in and of ourselves. We are seen by God as being righteous because we are in Christ who actually is righteous. His righteousness is imputed to us; not imparted to us.
Philippians 3:9 - and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith.

that's the crux of the "sinlessly perfect" crowd - they take a very low view of what constitutes sin, which ultimately is a very low view of the holiness of God.
i like that you used the word crux! :) :)

not only a low view of the holiness of God, but of the Work of Christ. very dangerous :(

So you don't sin?

Never?

(People are gonna have a pretty hard time believing you are sinlessly perfect.)
Did you not notice the part where I said... willingly or knowingly?

I never said I have never sinned in the past or that there's no possibility of sin in the future, or that I'm prefect in the literal sense as in not making mistakes such as dropping things, forgetting to do things, etc. (mistakes are not sin, but they are falling short of absolute perfection)

I'm simply saying after almost 40 years of being a Christian, the Lord has spent so much time correcting me that I have turned away from the things He has pointed out to me that were wrong doing.,.. and I definitely ain't doing the things God calls sin in His written Word.

This is correct Christianity according to God's Word

1 John 3:6
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not

1 John 2:4
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 1:6
if we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

1 John 2:1
I write these things unto you, that ye sin not

James 4:17
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

We should not be willingly or knowingly doing sinful things... it should be a very rare occasion for a Christian to sin and IF they did it would NOT be a situation where it's something they knew it was sinful and they decided to do it anyway.

I don't have any other names on this talkboard.

Maybe you saw me in action some other talkboard.

I would be the guy calling out the false doctrine of the OSAS peoples

I've run into many people that use this answer in regard to this subject and I wonder if they "don't know" because they never question their own behavior... there's introspection being done; no plumbing the depths of their hearts which Scripture says is desperately wicked and who can know it.

I guess the person that never looks at themselves would ever know it...

it is refreshing to read you stating that your sinless perfectionism is not to be taken literally.

40 years is all it takes to be equivalent to God in sinlessness?

wow so we could all feasibly become "like The Most High" in our infinitesimally brief lifetimes. if only we have enough inherent gumption.

got a certain appeal to it eh

They become much like those they rail against: giving themselves license to sin by claiming they didn't know they were sinning.

right

personality i find that it's only the most cursory examination of ourselves that finds no flaw. the kind of analysis that's so abbreviated as to be almost useless..
.. which is why i put earlier, that it ((to me)) rests on having a very narrow, very low view of what constitutes sin.

could we say, they are super big on mercy and forgiveness? at the very least, when it comes to examining themselves, i mean.

Almost Heaven West Virginia
1 Corinthians 9:27
I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Castaway (G0096 in Strong's) = unapproved, rejected, worthless, reprobate.

This is the same greek word used in Romans 1:28 when the Lord turned those over to a reprobate mind who refused retain God in their knowledge and walk with Him.

This means, Paul believed that if he did not control himself and went back to walking after the flesh HE would be unapproved, rejected, worthless, reprobate!

Obviously the Apostle Paul did not believe in "once saved, always saved" aka "eternal security"

The OSAS peoples sure hate to hear about 1 Corinthians 9:27
I love God's Word, including that entire chapter, even the entire book, and it's Author. That's why I read it from cover to cover in it's context.
I've met thousands of Christians who believe that once you are given everlasting life, that it is exactly what is written, everlasting life.
None have ever expressed anything that you claim we hate.

How long have you gone without committing any sins?

Paul doesn’t appear to me to have any doubt about the security of salvation.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, Who also will do it.
in fact he appears to trust God's faithfulness to preserve us completely.

you believe such trust inevitably leads to running after evil, but your estimation of the result of trusting in God for salvation doesn't appear to be the case, Biblically speaking.

seeing these things are so, you will of course forgive me if i put my hope in Christ instead of in your doctrine.

.
1.) "Willing" sin is the only kind of sin there is.

2.) So if you claim you commit no "willing" sin... you are claiming to be sinless.

3.) To be sinless is to be morally perfect.... it's a claim of perfection.

Maybe you should rethink your position.

God Bless

Your boy Charles Stanley taught this and he's considered to be the leading proponent of the false OSAS doctrine by those that admit that they follow the false OSAS doctrine!

Charles Stanley even taught one could be gay... and still be saved! Imagine that!

Here's a video where you can see video of Charlies saying this (just a few minutes into the video)

In this video, Chalie says he's proud of Andy and supports him after heresy charges

Can a Person Live a Life of Sin and Remain Saved?
I would think that such a stauch 'Christian' as yourself, would apologize to me since I told you I do not follow any Stanleys. I believe the elder has passed on and the younger is no one to follow

You are rude and condescending and inflict damage on others in this forum by your judgements without cause and conclusions with no actual proof of what you claim.

You are certainly not much of a witness as to what actual Christianity or following Christ is.

Apparently you do not learn from you mistakes.

I'm speaking of the doctrine of Christ from God's Word.... those that aren't being led in to ALL the Truth (whole counsel of God) wouldn't understand since satan blinds the minds of those that don't believe... along with those that suffer from acure Cherry Picker's Syndrome (CPS) and believe only a few happy verses are true and throw the rest of what the Lord says about salvation in the trash.

Accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior... and receiving His Holy Spirit to empower me to be obedient... are good works that all men are called to... it's called being obedient.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

Those that continue in their sin and teach others that it matters not if we sin (like your boy Gnarly Charlie Stanley) are children of disobedience

Colossians 3:5
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

Romans 8:13,14
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

2 Thessalonians 1:8
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

1 Corinthians 6:19, 20
Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own....for you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Peter 1:13-16
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ… As obedient children, not fashioning (agreeing with) yourself according to the former lusts in your ignorance… But as He which has called you is holy, so be yourself holy in all manner of lifestyle… Because it is written, Be holy; for I am holy.

satan has tricked and deceived many in to believing being obedient to the gospel, being obedient to God's calling upon mankind is "works salvation"... and the joke is on them because they did not study God's Word for themselves and got blinded by satan!

We are called to good works... and doing evil works causes people to not inherit God's kingdom.

And yet many will argue in favor of being able to do evil works and strill be saved as they continue in their deception!

Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Galatians 6:9-10
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Hebrews 13:16
But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Luke 6:35
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Matthew 7:18-20
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Romans 2:5-11
But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
For there is no respect of persons with God.

1 Timothy 6:17-19
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

Psalm 34:14
Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.

2 Timothy 2:20,21
But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

James 2:14-20
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

James 3:13
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

1 Peter 3:10-12
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Colossians 1:9,10
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

2 Timothy 3:16,17
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Why would I listen to someone such as yourself who does not actually preach the gospel, but preaches condemnation and disguises it as warning people about sin?

You should be Christ focused and not sin focused. People who are focused on Christ will actually put away sin and desire to please their Savior.

And the above is your reply to my post wherein I told you that your accusation against me was false. I am reminded of what Jesus said to the Pharisees who thought they were the great examples to everyone else while their sins remained on their heads

Which spirit is telling you these things about others that are not true?

So you're view is get born again... and go back to living in sin, and you're still saved?

By saying one can never, ever never lose their salvation... by default this is telling people they will still be saved even if they live in sin... and this is false doctrine.

The devil sure enjoys hearing people believe like this as they are speaking in his behalf when they spread this false doctrine around... because they are making satan's life so much easier as they are working with satan to deceive the people in to believing that... even if one continues in their sin, they will still be saved!

Obviously the Apostle Paul did not believe in "once saved, always saved" aka "eternal security"

"Willing" sin is the only kind of sin there is.
No, it's quite possible for someone to do something sinful and they honestly did not know it was a sin... this is normally something babes in Christ go thru.

So if you claim you commit no "willing" sin... you are claiming to be sinless.
I'm simply going by what the Lord says in His Word... which is:

Feel free to argue with the Lord concerning these passages... especially 1 John 3:6 agree.gif

3.) To be sinless is to be morally perfect.... it's a claim of perfection.
I spilled my ice tea at dinner here a while back... this proves that I'm not perfect in the literal sense as Jesus was when He walked on Club Earth.

Cause, Jesus ain't never spilt His ice tea! disagree.gif

Maybe you should rethink your position.
No can do homie... that would be rejecting God's Word concerning being led by the Spirit.

Those of you who claim to be "sinners" need to re-think yo position cause... the Holy Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ is NOT leading you to sin everyday in though word and deed.

Romans 8:14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

You are rude and condescending and inflict damage on others in this forum by your judgements without cause and conclusions with no actual proof of what you claim.
