It was taught. How do you think the Church treated the Sabbath differently? Even Paul said it:

Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

The law is spoken of negatively once it was replaced with a better law. Do you think these things about the law are positive?

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law- Galatians 3:13

the law entangles with the yoke of bondage- Galatians 5:1

if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law - Galatians 5:18

the strength of sin is the law- 1 Corinthians 15:56

the law worketh wrath- Romans 4:15

we are not under the law- Romans 6:15

ye also are become dead to the law - Romans 7:4

we are delivered from the law- Romans 7:6

we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter- Romans 7:6

Jesus made us free from the law of sin and death- Romans 8:2
None of that contradicts obedience to the 10 Commandments, God's Law written in Stone.

Why would Jesus spend His entire life modeling a wrong way of living for all His beloved followers to come?

Why would He have spent His ministry teaching an expired way of living, a way that would be considered a curse, etc. for all His followers to come?

He taught us how to live righteously before God.

He showed us how to live righteously before God.

His followers continued in that way after His death.

The 10 Commandments are how we walk righteously like Christ. His blood covering and His Spirit protect and guide us when we stumble.

The Bible teaches that those who are in Christ will not utterly fall, but those who obey the Commandments without fully embracing Christ, those who obey as a means to salvation, will utterly fall.

Did Paul ever teach the Ten Commandments to the Gentiles?
Yes, he sure did.

Everywhere he went.

When you see verses speaking of Paul, and others, teaching "the Word", they are teaching exactly what Christ taught. Not only is Jesus referred to as "the Word", but the 10 Commandments themselves are referred to as the "Ten Words" in Exodus 34:28 in the KJV and in the Hebrew for that verse.

All the apostles taught the 10 Commandments just as Jesus did. Why would they teach something different?

And Paul was called a "Keeper of the Law" in Acts 21:24.

No, He did not.

Why would they defy Him after His Crucifixion in Luke 23:54-56?

They did not. They passionately obeyed exactly what He had taught them to do and observed the 4th Commandment.

What you do is promote adherence to the ten commandments, which is not consistent with new covenant Christianity. What you seem to fail to understand is that those who are led by the indwelling Holy Spirit don't need to strive to obey; we live by the Spirit and therefore do not contravene the commandments. As Paul wrote in Romans, "Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law" so we who have the Spirit do by the Spirit's nature what is required by the law.

Instead of worrying over obeying the commandments, start living by the Spirit of God.
If somebody is naturally obeying all 10 Commandments, then that's great.

God bless 'em.

Only assuming with no actual scripture. That's what I thought. Paul kept the law only when in the presence of other Jews that he might win them to Christ.

Acts 21
24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.

If we could obey God's commandments, Jesus suffered and died for nothing. You are entirely wrong. The Law was given through Moses; grace and truth through Jesus Christ. If the law is sufficient, there is no need for grace and truth. You should try reading the New Testament. You might learn something. I'd start with Galatians and then read Hebrews.
I read in the New Testament that Jesus taught the 10 Commandments.
Matt. 23:1-3

I read in the New Testament that Jesus obeyed each and every one.
John 15:10

I read in the New Testament that Jesus' followers obeyed the 10 Commandments after His death.
Luke 23:54-56
Acts 21:24

Do Paul, or any other Apostle, override Jesus Christ in anything that they teach?

Who has the final word on all things Christianity? His Name is in the term itself.
My next question is why only 10 commandments? There are 613 in all. Some are no longer applicable and some apply either to men or women or specific groups of people. However, the Law is the Law and must be obeyed or else. Will you go to the temple and sacrifice a lamb for your sin? Oh, you can't. There is no temple. Tough luck, you are condemned because you have failed to meet the requirements God's Law.
The 10 Commandments are the only ones God wrote in stone with His own finger.

They are the only ones God ever spoke aloud from Mt. Sinai to all the people present.

Jesus also spoke them aloud to His followers and obeyed them as an example to us of how to live righteously before God.

All the rest expired at the Cross. None of those were written in stone and Jesus even ridiculed the Jews for teaching and strictly adhering to so many of those.

The 10 Commandments are the only Commandments that can be referred to as God's Law.

I think this is what you are looking for.

24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. 26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."
Galatians 3

The purpose of the law in regards to salvation from hell is the following.
A...We don't keep it and we deserve death in hell. Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death."

B. The object of your faith in keeping the law is futile. Hypothetically, IF you were able to keep it 100% from this day forward, you already blew it. You broke it far more than once. Your turning from those sins you can actually remember along with all the tears you can muster don't pay for sins.
I used to think that God had scales in heaven to weigh out good work against our sins. That was a misunderstanding that I had to reconsider and reject. "There is none righteousness, no not one." Romans 3

C. You must change your decision of trusting in your good works of trying to keep the 10 commandments and instead make Jesus Christ the Object of your faith. Trust that He gave His life suffering what you deserve, died, and three days later took back His life and arose from the tomb. Don't add works to what He did all by Himself or you will keep your punishment. If you want God's forgiveness, that gift must be received His way apart from keeping the law.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I hope THIS LINK is a blessing to you
please pray with them at the end.

We are no longer under the law, nor are we under a schoolmaster, as we now obey the 10 Commandments willingly out of love for God. It is no longer a burden and we do so joyfully out of love for God Almighty.

Something that is never mentioned by those who disagree with obedience to the 10 Commandments is that there is only one Commandment that modern Christians have any issue with.

All the other 9 are fully embraced as basic moral rules for living as a Christian.

No Christian today would claim it's ok to worship demonic idols, to worship any other god, to murder, to rob, to assault, to mistreat parents, etc.

The only one they've been brainwashed to hate is the 4th Commandment that tells us to remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.

That's it.

He showed us how He could live righteously. And He invites us to walk in the Spirit to have Him live through us.
You seem to believe that through your own endeavor you can live as He did. You cannot. No one can. By putting the emphasis on yourself and the law, you ignorantly remove the emphasis from Christ. It is only as we pursue His kingdom and His righteousness...not our own by attempting to keep the law...that He fulfills the law in us.
Many have been sharing this with you. And this is how Christ reveals the glory of the knowledge of the Lord through us.

What is wrong with doing our best to follow the Ten? What is wrong with each of them?

I know I am yet not perfect, for God will complete that condition in me, but the ten Commandments are wonderful and good guidelines for all who live in grace to attempt to follow to the letter, for they are nor without mercy and love.

So, please address these augmenting questions.
worst thing about this argument, it reveals both sides are LEGALIST.

Are you a Gentile? If so, you should pay attention to verse 25...

Acts 21
24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.

This is a very oft-repeated objection to obeying the Commandments.

I will tell you that nobody in over a decade has ever answered the following question so I will offer it to you.

Can you please tell us which of the 10 Commandments is impossible to keep? All sacrificial ordinances expired at the Cross.
right. and yet....and yet...you are still not clued in that you are not comprehending here

that actually explains and sums up your entire op

listen ditzzy.....you can keep any one at any time but you can never ever keep all the law...you conveniently forget that the 10 commandments are actually a part of the entire law and not just what you want it to be....your question is actually a further illustration of your inability (apparently) to grasp the whole

That was very rude and unnecessary.

As for me and my house, we will obey the Lord.

God bless.

He kept all the 10 Commandments, yes.

He ridiculed the Jews for all their silly Traditions of Men - laws that were made up by men - and He even claimed that their laws led to dishonoring God.

The 10 Commandments can never lead to dishonoring God in any way.

when we really get down to it, as the Resurrected LORD, Jesus Commanded, to fulfill the Great Commission [Go Preach, Make Disciples, Baptize]

how many on this Forum are OBEYING these Commands?
