I've been doing this for about 2 yrs. When I go out, I just notice them and usually stop. Some are far gone so I'll call 911 to get help for them. I'm in beautiful Riverside, btw.
My name is Warren.
I live in Southern Mexico alone in a small room we call here " quartos '. I have been here 4 years and minister alone. I am not part of any formal church or group, however, I interact with and support and teach any who claim belief in the gospel. I started from scratch, alone, in the pandemic. God has created many different opportunities for me, from helping the truly poor and sick, to teaching, to street ministry where I give away my art for free as an opportunity to exhort and or preach. Houses are close together here and it is easy to put bible tracks on hundreds of doors in an afternoon. I am not joining this site out of boredom. Rather, I would like to make myself available to share and encourage from my experiences. I am not poor and lived a good life in California. Now I live on about 250 dollars a month. The rest is God's . This was not a choice to show humility. It was a natural result of living for Christ first and foremost. The cares of this world fell away. I have learned first hand the meaning of "you can't serve two masters". We follow what we love, period. I have a varied history in bible study and knowledge, however, I have come to see God's word as true food. Not something to be analysed and discected so much as to be read and fed to us by the holy spirit.
I hope to meet and encourage all who have an incorruptible love for Christ.
Where do we find a group who are tired from their spiritual labors and therefore need support and refreshing? Where do we find a group who suffer simply because they are actual pilgrims, not because they are bored with their casual faith? Where do we find people who believe that you don't need great bible knowledge for important service, no need for constant searching and "dividing" the word, only to then argue out of pride? Where do we find people so busy following the many simple commands of Christ that they don't have time to argue over the more complicated passages? Where do we find servants, not spectators? Where do we find people supporting each other with real, personal, spiritual problems, not world events and philosophical wastes of time?

Oyester, would you like to continue this on another thread?
The OP doesn't like it that you turned his thread into another salvation discussion.

Let's discuss it somewhere else in the rest of the forum where every thread turns into a salvation judgment. :)

I have no problem with anything Oyster posted. I pray that you will spend more time in service and less in baiting others Eli.

Baiting?
So the whole Protestant denomination is baiting the Catholics?

Are you saying here that you want to hear only the things that you want to hear? That's fine.
I respect that.

Your ways may work with weak believers, but not with indwelt children of God. I repeat. I pray you will spend more time in service and less baiting others for arguments that feed your own glory. I will no longer reply to your manipulation. I will pray for your repentance.

Oh so now you're showing your true colors huh?
Good to know.

Add me to the ignore list. I hope that you handle these situations better in real life because here it's easy with the ignore function and staying in your bubble.

Good morning Eli,
I have miracles happening regularly. Not all are earth shaking, but clearly the hand of God. In the case of sharing them, I tend to keep that to people involved and those who may work with them. I believe that we should be out witnessing God's hand daily in our own work. Remember when the Jews asked Christ for a sign? His answer was pretty disappointing. Please also remember that I am from America. We are so buried in entertainment and distraction that nothing is ever enough. I encourage you to stay faithful and be part of his miracles. I am always here to encourage you in this.
Just wondering why you say Jesus’ answer to the Jews “was pretty disappointing.”

Hi again,
Are you aware of the passage I am referring to?
Yep. Matthew 12:38-40. Why do you say that Jesus’ answer was disappointing? It’s a perfect answer:

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered, saying, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from You." But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. "For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.“

- Matthew 12:38-40

There is malicious intent behind this request. Both Mark 8:11-12 and Luke 11:16 say the Pharisees were trying to test him. Although Matthew does not directly state this is a test, the Pharisees are seeking a way to accuse Jesus. If Jesus does a sign on demand, perhaps they can twist that into something they can use.

In the same way, Eli was not asking this for the glory of God. He was prowling around for entertainment and trouble.

His answer was disappointing to those who asked.

Hello! One area at the moment is that we have a weekly lunch club which brings along maybe 50-60 elderly and disabled people. We have lunch, some activities then a speaker to share the gospel or a word of encouragement. Really appreciated by many older believers and those on their own, a good number of non-believers come along for the food and the fellowship, then they listen to the word. Since COVID many people are eager for fellowship and purpose. The limitation we have at the moment is finding cooks/ kitchen helpers, the harvest is plentiful and the workers are few. We'll have a special Christmas lunch in a few weeks then a bus outing in May. God Bless You :)

Thanks for the good news. The people that are eager, do you stay in touch with them outside of your events. Is this possible?

Hello Wsb. We have a page for the group on facebook to share notifications so we can message on that. Fb can be handy for that. One or two I can meet with regularly on other days, but all 60 would be a lot. God Bless :)

I like where this is going Oyster.
Me too! :giggle:

So if i do the "instruction" in post 33 i am saved.
Yup! :D

Then i can go ahead and murder, cheat and steal right? Maybe do some drugs on the side?
...No!

Salvation is not like something that you take to the casino and gamble with. Salvation is not something that you take to the circus and juggle around with at the dog and pony show.

Salvation is something that you love and cherish and take good care of. It is the Pearl of Great Price. Jesus gave His very own life's blood to make it available to you. Satan tries to cheapen and devalue it with garbage like Calvinistic OSAS, but if one reads and studies the Bible, they will quickly see that Calvinism is a hoax and a lie. Satan has found that the easiest way to attack the Church is to plant dark seeds within it using false teachers in sheep's clothing.

Hebrews 10:
35Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. 36For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. 37For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. 38Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. 39But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Then i can go ahead and murder, cheat and steal right? Maybe do some drugs on the side?
Everything is good because we're VIPs right?
Love your neighbor? More like "Rob your neighbor".

What do you think about that Oyster?
The modern "Church" is in a sad state indeed. Few have any interest in fighting the good fight and contending for the faith anymore. Apathy abounds. :(

But look at those that have gone before us!!!

🎶 “it shall be worth it all
When we see Jesus” 🎵

Revelation 7:9-10,14-17 KJV
After this I beheld, and, lo,
a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues,
stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

[10] And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

[14] And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

[15] Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.

[16] They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.

[17] For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
