I don't mean to be rude, but some points in your statement are ignorant. God made what the basis for science is, and without science, there would not be doctors or scientists. We wouldn't know what was in the ocean, in the sky, we wouldn't know how things worked basically. It is my favorite subject to discuss, although I may not be the best at it, I'm really glad that it was "put on this world" for our benefit.

I agree with what resurrection33 said; God rules science, not the other way around.

You didn't indicate whom you were speaking to. Whose statements do you think are "ignorant," and can you explain why?

God made what the basis for science is

I agree with you. I would go one step further, and say God made science, period.

I agree with what resurrection33 said; God rules science, not the other way around.

Did anyone on this board indicate otherwise? If so, can you quote it, please?

I apologize, because I don't know how to quote people or anything yet. I'm really new at this, but I was referring to the maker of the topic.

And as for quoting that one person, I didn't know how to do it.

Why do people say that science and God are not compatible. God MADE what we call "science." In all it's annoying math-iness, it's simply another one of God's mysterious creations.

Hi Zombie.

See that button towards the lower right of this post that says "quote"? Click that button, and you will get my entire post in an html quote, and then you can comment on it. Hope that helps.

And thank you for answering my question. I agree with you, and several other people on this thread. Science is not opposed to God. It's frustrating and embarrassing when other Christians make these claims, because it makes us Christians look like stupid, superstitious, backwards people.

Whenever organized religion sets itself against science, it loses. Think of Galileo being excommunicated by the Church for saying the earth is not the center of the universe. How much "face" did we lose in that one? Think of the Scopes Monkey Trial. Same thing.

Far better for us Christians to acknowledge God in the Science that He created, to embrace every facet of this wonderful physical world, for God truly did create it all -- whether he formed us out of earth or out of atoms -- and He called it good.

I can't tell you how frustrated I get to see people who don't get that just because the Bible isn't literal doesn't mean it isn't TRUE. A six-year-old can see the difference.

It is when organized science sets itself against the knowledge of God that it looses. God is not in science, science is from God. But the science of men is corrupt. Supposing to be worshiping God, they have turned to worship science and not God.

Indeed, things were created good, and for a good purpose, like life, but men took that good and corrupted it, through sin. The body is good, but is defiled when used for evil, or placed before God. Eve ate the fruit for science, but she only found that she was naked. Adam also ate for science, but he trespassed the command of God in eating that fruit.

Satan tempted the woman, saying that she would be like God if she ate of it, knowing good and evil. Did she desire to be like God? Was she capable to be good? Anyone who tries to become God through eating the forbidden thing, will find themselves only exposed and naked and empty. Every great man who has tried without Jesus, have all ended the same.

May Jesus bless you.

It is when organized science sets itself against the knowledge of God that it looses.

Name one instance when science has set itself against the knowledge of God. God has already set forth all knowledge, all science, whether we know it or not.

If it is true, it is of God, regardless of whether we agree or not.

If it is false, it is not of God. News flash: if it is false, it isn't science, either. You cannot name one instance where something that is truly science is false, because if it were, it wouldn't be scientific any more.

But the science of men is corrupt.

What do you mean by "science of men." As we have pointed out, and you even seem to agree, science isn't of men, it's of God. So, what is this "science of men" of which you speak, and how is it corrupt?

Supposing to be worshiping God, they have turned to worship science and not God.

I don't know anyone who "worships science" who thinks they are worshiping God. Those who worship science know that they aren't worshiping God. Or do you have an example to the contrary?

I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.
-Galileo Galilei

Got your attention? Good. The very notion that people can "worship" science is just...wrong. Even the idea that there is conflict between science and religion is just wrong. Like, I'm a scientist myself (physics major), and you might find it interesting that the physics department at my school is the only department where all the faculty members are Christians. And yes, they accept evolution, the big bang, and other scientific theories as the verified truth that they are.

For those who believe in God, science is mans way of understanding his creation. If it just so happens that he used processes such as the big bang, evolution, and others to make the universe, well, then that's what he did. There shouldn't be a conflict.

The science of men, comes from the understanding of men. Yet, God is above the understanding of men. These are those who are ever searching, and NEVER able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Ask your greatest scientist, and they will not tell you that what they figure is truth. NOT AT ALL! They have facts and theories, but they don't have truth.
And if they tell you they have found the truth, they are liars if they have not found that truth to be Jesus Christ himself.

The science of men tries to fit God into their own equations, but he is above it all. God cannot be comprehend by the science of men. They will always fall short of the truth. Many have tried, but none can achieve it. To figure that the knowledge of God is attainable by the human mind is ignorance. God is above the thoughts of men, and the ideas of men. Who has known his ways?

The science of men is indeed corrupt. Anything that lifts up itself in the place of Jesus Christ, is always corrupt. And can never attain to the truth.

May Jesus bless you.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...

God formed man from the dust of the ground. And from the rib of the man he shaped the woman. And God breathed into them the breathe of life, and blessed them.

God also saw that it was dark and spoke there to be light, and there was light. All things were CREATED for him, and by him, to his glory. Not anything that was made was made without him.

And God created fowls of the air, and beast of the earth and fish of the sea; trees of the field bearing fruit. And in each animal and in every fruit, and in man, the seed, bearing after its OWN kind. Humans to produce humans, apple trees to produce apples, fish to produce fish after their kinds, and.

God created man in his own image, even in the image of God he created male and female. God made the universe and everything he made by his word.

Do your scientists say amen to this?

I think you'll find your in the vast minority of christians who believe the literal interpretation of that view. Science tells us what we can know and can observe from the world. The Bible offers us a guide to explaining what we cannot explain. The original authors of the various didn't make it a priority to keep science in mind, they were just trying to explain what they had felt and seen. To say the Bible is a scientific work is to give it a purpose that it was not intended to fulfill.

AMEN!

I'm so glad to hear someone else here say that. I'm tired of so many Christians denying science, as if God didn't create science.

Don't they realize that when they deny evolution they're calling the Creator, who left the mountains of evidence FOR evolution, a liar? I can't speak for others, but I would not want to be one to call God a liar.

The science of men, comes from the understanding of men.

Please explain what you mean by "the science of men." I only know of science, which God created and men and women study. I know of no science that men created by themselves.

The science of men is indeed corrupt. Anything that lifts up itself in the place of Jesus Christ, is always corrupt.

Once again, until you explain what, exactly, you mean by "the science of men" you are just blowing smoke. Yes, anything that lifts itself up in the place of our Lord is corrupt, by definition.

There are men (and woman) who lift science up as a replacement for faith. They are wrong, and do not acknowledge God. The science is not what is corrupt, but those who worship it.

Paul actually spoke to this very issue, discussing food offered to idols. He pointed out that the food itself is not evil, just those who offered it to false gods.

Personally, I agree with Paul, and I disagree with you.
