And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who approaches Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." Hebrews 11:6
Still good people suffer, while the wicked prosper. Job was praised by GOD, yet his life fell apart.

The Hebrew of v. 12 says "From out of the city men are groaning and the soul of the wounded is crying out, but God is not determining unsavouriness.

The LXX translates this as "They are being cast out from the cities and their houses and the children cry out, but why is an inspection not made of these things/why is oversight not being carried out of these things?"

This seems to be a description of what one sees every day somewhere in the world. What do you find hard to understand about these verses?

Regarding Rom. 9:14, Calvinism has injected a perspective on God's providence into Christendom that considers Him to be rather arbitrary in His decisions of whose sufferings He will alleviate despite their rebellion, and whose he will worsen to discipline them further for their rebellion. I don't think we should take the Calvinist portrayal of God seriously. He is much more compassionate and tender-hearted than they can accommodate in their flawed systematic.
Where is GOD with all this suffering?

Getting out of the hole is good news. Great news, even- especially in the current economy. Praise God!

I think I know what you mean here. I'm not a huge fan of Islamic terror myself. At the same time, that whole land is full of idolatry and sin, so I don't think fire will be coming down from heaven any time soon- even if Hamas were the ones to really escalate the violence of this scenario. Same goes for the US; we will probably either not get our hostages back- or if we do, it will be at a tremendous cost, and whatever we give them will be used against us or Israel. We're already on the receiving end of foreign cyber-attacks. As far as the children are concerned; it sucks, because their suffering is not because of something they did- the world was like this before they got here... (I sure know it was like this before I got here...) but, hopefully they will learn from what they suffer and call on the name of the Lord.
The only thing I can think of, these children are now with the LORD. They will never suffer again.

I can understand some, but when I hear about children being abused, I wonder where is GOD? I see the war in Gaza and the children suffering. I wish GOD would step in and end Hamas.
maybe justice is never carried out in the way in which we would like straight away, and it's a case of the law and loop holes protecting everybody, w

But one day of course everyone will have there Justice, 🙂.

I often wonder about the questions you raise, and I often end up thinking there's a reason why God is not acting straight away and answering prayers straight away, may have something to do with the real culprits evil spirits.

I do get a bit unstuck with people needing healing from terminal diseases, and I often wonder if there is reasons behind why many people haven't been healed to. But i would never like to think God doesn't care about an individual he doesn't heal. I like to think he's calling them home for some reason 🙂

That is what is hard to understand. Many suffer under the rich, yet GOD does not punish the rich.
You seem to be forgetting the final judgement.. What if God allows them to have a life of richness knowing that they have rejected His WORD (The LORD Jesus Christ) It can be seen as a curse upon them to be so wealthy and powerful that it reinforces their rejection of the LORD Jesus.. Ensuring their eternal place in the Lake of Fire..

Still good people suffer, while the wicked prosper. Job was praised by GOD, yet his life fell apart.
There was a reason for that. And God put Job back together the right way, and blessed him even more abundantly.

There was a reason for that. And God put Job back together the right way, and blessed him even more abundantly.

But more important, the book of Deuteronomy provides many rules to limit the king’s power (Deut 17:14-20): the king must be from the people of Israel and chosen by their deity; he must not multiply horses for himself or send the people back to Egypt to acquire them; he must not multiply wives for himself; and he must not acquire excessive silver and gold for himself.

Yet Solomon did not do any of these. He took many wives, went to Egypt for horses and enriched himself. GOD still blessed him. Job was praised by GOD for his righteousness and he still suffered. This is why I got mad at the pastors and people in my church. They blamed any problems in your life on sin. You must have sin in your life. An answer that requires no thinking.....just point your finger.

I was talking to a couple in my church, The husband told me they had gone to a pastor because of problems they were having in their marriage. The pastor said they were having problems because they had sex before they got married. I looked at the husband and said...."You've been married for 10 years and have 3 kids. Every marriage has problems. It has nothing to do with you and your wife having sex before you were married" The pastor was blaming their problems on them having sex before they got married....10 YEARS AGO!!!!

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Sometimes his delays are heart breaking. You pray for 40 years and watch GOD bless others with your request.....you get nothing. Your time is almost over and GOD still denies you.

Where is GOD with all this suffering?
John, The lord Knows the suffering, there is a reason for everything.

King James Bible Rev 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Know that those who cause unnecessary violence against individuals and destroy the earth will be Judged they will not escape unless they repent. Judgment and retribution belongs to the LORD! They will not escape.

King James Bible Rom12:19
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Blessings

have you tried a daily prayer of how can I help you today lord.

You'll be pleasantly surprised 🙂.

I came to the conclusion years ago that the lord also needs his prayers answering, and what I came to realise is the number one prayer of the lord is he needs people who are willing to help others, on the basis that what ever your will to do for others, you will be happy for whatever you get back in return, what I also found was before to long I often found my rewarded in some way.

You may even get to meet people who may also be able to help you 🙏

I had hoped GOD would have stepped in and wiped out Hamas sooner.
No good hoping that God would step in ------you have to pray and ask God to step in -----God gave humankind complete dominion over this earth -----so God has to be invited to step in --If God just stepped in and took over everytime a war broke out or disaster happened He would be doing so illegally ----and breaking His own command of giving humans dominion over the earth and and animals

There is Protocol for answered Prayer to --so one has to pay attention to that and do what it says to get your prayer answered -----

Hebrew word for dominion is
Strong's #7287: radah (pronounced raw-daw')
a primitive root; to tread down, i.e. subjugate; specifically, to crumble off:--(come to, make to) have dominion, prevail against, reign, (bear, make to) rule,(-r, over), take.

And that very night the angel of the LORD went out and struck down 185,000 men in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people got up the next morning, there were all the dead bodies! 2 Kings 19:35

I was hoping for a repeat

One thing I did learn was to never again help two of my siblings and not to have anything to do with them.
One brother was about to be homeless. The LORD said to take him in and provide for him. I did for over a year until he got his Social Security and pension. He was taking in more than me. He did not want to pay any rent or help with the housing or food cost. He expected me to take care of him. GOD did get him out of my house after this.

Later one of my sister's lost her apartment because she was giving everything to her adult children. When she lost her apartment, not one of her kids offered to help her. The LORD said to take her in and help her. After about 6 months she got a Workers Comp settlement, $36,000, plus $1700 a month from Social Security. GOD had blessed her with major income. More than enough to get by......she gave ALL of it to her adult children. She asked me to lower her rent to make up what she gave away.....once again GOD got her out of my house.

I believe GOD showed me to never help them again. Keep them out of my life. He blessed them and they squandered his blessings. They had more income than I ever had, yet they refused to help me in any way. Both expected me to care to them, But it came at a major cost to me. That is where I struggle.

The poor must go about naked, without any clothing.
They harvest food for others while they themselves are starving.
They press out olive oil without being allowed to taste it,
and they tread in the winepress as they suffer from thirst.
The groans of the dying rise from the city,
and the wounded cry for help,
yet God ignores their moaning. Job 24:10

Are we saying, then, that God was unfair? Of course not! For God said to Moses,
“I will show mercy to anyone I choose,
and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.”i
So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it. Romans 9:14

I find verses like these to understand.
“So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it. “
Jesus gave believers a choice to be set free from bondage and mercy is the key

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged:

condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned:

forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:36-

We can choose to hear and believe the lord that’s our choice

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God has come and spoken his word in the gospel and sent it to everyone in the world God has already declared mercy in the gospel we have to accept it and believe and start to follow
Notice when Jesus says be merciful there’s a blessing attatched when he says forgive there’s a blessing attatched when he says give there’s a blessing attatched when he says don’t condemn others there’s a blessing attatched

he’s offering us a choice but we have to hear the gospel to hear the choice

It has nothing to do with you and your wife having sex before you were married" The pastor was blaming their problems on them having sex before they got married....10 YEARS AGO!!!!
To be fair; statistically speaking, if you have sex before marriage that is a precursor to marital problems, like adultery because you were acting on carnal instincts when you made that choice to get married and you weren't in your right mind. I know how you feel about Corinthians- but I'm telling you, without a doubt, that people more often simply fail to exercise self-control that they possess than the problem being an actual lack of self-control.

But regardless, a Pastor pointing out a problem alone is NOT offering a solution, though... and if they are both Christians now, they should be readily able to overcome the statistics. Pastors should know this- especially married ones. :rolleyes:Calvary chapel milquetoast.

The only thing I can think of, these children are now with the LORD. They will never suffer again.
Bittersweet; but it's good. God knows what he's doing. It's like the Passover- the bitter herbs with the lamb. We have to spiritually eat those herbs, right? But at the end of the day, we're eating the Passover, and that's what's important.

It does sound like you have been taken advantage off, all tho I do feal the lord would not let any work you've done for him go unnoticed,

sometimes there is work that you can do for the lord that is solely on the bases of Giving,
