God made the weekly cycle that started at Creation and that has never changed. God named the days- day 1, day 2 day , day 3 etc. but God gave the seventh day a special name and called if the Sabbath of the Lord thy God Exo 20:10 and He said it was My holy day in His very own Words Gen 2:1-3 Exo 20:8-11 Isaiah 58:13. The fact the Sabbath is still called the Sabbath all throughout the NT shows it never changed and continues on for eternity Isa 66:22-23

God preserved this weekly cycle and regardless what calendar one uses, the first day will always be the first day and the seventh day will always be the Sabbath. That is why in almost all ancient languages the Sabbath literally means Saturday.

chart-of-the-week.pdf (sabbathtruth.com)

The change in the Sabbath was predicted in scripture and not by God Dan 7:25 and the Sabbath is both a time (every seventh day) and law (the Sabbath commandment) The devil has been working to deceive people since the beginning of time and are warned deceives the whole world, which is the majority. God deemed all other days working days except the Sabbath that He claims as His. God only blessed, sanctified and made holy the seventh day Sabbath. Once God blesses something man cannot reverse. Numbers 23:20

I believe it is quite insulting to God to take a day God made for work and labors and exalt it above the day He made holy, sanctified and blessed so He can spend time with us as we cannot sanctify ourselves, only God can. Ezekiel 20:12 He in His own Words tells us so.

Eze 22:26 Her priests have violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.

Sunday worship came from the pagan tradition of sun worship in the third century. God calls that an abomination. Ezekiel 8:16-17 I believe the Sabbath is our test because it shows our loyalty to God the Creator and shows we are worshipping the One True God. Eze 20:20 the only God who has the power to Create and Sanctify the same God of Judgement Revelation 14:7 Just the Adam and Eve had a test in the Garden over a Tree. It's more than a day and its more than a tree, it is our allegiance and loyalty to God to obey Him the way He asked, not the way we want.

God is calling His people out of our false teachings Revelation 18:4 as we must worship Him in Truth and Spirit John 4:23-24 and Jesus in His own Word said when we keep traditions over obeying the commandments of God and quoted directly from the Ten Commandments, their heart is far from Him (opposite of the NC Heb 8:10) and one worships in vain.

God never had the majority that were faithful in scripture and now, but He has always had a faithful remnant who keep the commandments of God and faith of Jesus Rev 14:12 Rev 12:17.

God does not change, the main difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant is Jesus. Animal sacrifices for sin (breaking God's law 1 John 3:4) always pointed forward to Jesus who took the penalty of sin for us- the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23 what He did not do is take away the law that defines sin the Ten Commandments Romans 7:7 Mat 5:19-30 and He made that clear heaven and earth would pass away before one dot from His law would change. Most Christians do not believe His teachings but believe in Jesus, which I do not believe this is saving faith according to His own Words Mat 7:21-23. We need the faith of Jesus, the same faith He had to walk as He did - keeping God's commandments including the Sabbath He is our example, our way, the door and we are to follow Him.
Did Christ go to the Temple every Sabbath? Is that what the gospels record?

I believe we can be in a saved state, but are not truly saved until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Its possible we can fall away after being in a saved state, but can come back in the fold (if we repent, change directions) . Hebrews talks about this and are many examples in scriptures of this which should give us all hope. If we fall, we can still come back as long as probation hasn't closed. Rev 22:11 As stated previously, the sin that is unforgivable is the sin against the Spirit Matthew 12:30-32 when we stop hearing that voice calling us out of rebellion to God Hebrews 3:7-8.

At the end we will be in two groups, the lost and the saved. When Jesus comes the saved will meet Him in the air (His feet do not touch the ground) This is really important because we are told at the end the devil as an angel of light will impersonate God and His second coming and will deceive millions if not billions, but He cannot reenact the true Second Coming of Jesus Christ where all eyes will see Him and the saints meet Him in the air. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Revelation 1:7 and the saints will forever be with Him and He promises heaven will be more than we can comprehend, and no one will be unhappy, he will wipe away all of our tears (as many loved ones won't make it) but sin and sinners will be no more (dead) and it will be a life in harmony with God. Not everyone will be happy in heaven and His penalty is more out of love than anything else. Lucifer wasn't happy and didn't want to submit to God's will, God does not change, and loves us so much He wants us happy, even if that means death.
I'm really just concerned here as to what happens in salvation. For example, what happened to those 3,000 individuals the day of Pentecost?

Are you asking what happens to a saved person when they are dead or how a saved person lives?

Scripture records it was His custom, Luke 4:16 which means His regular practice. He kept all the commandments, which includes the Sabbath commandment. John 15:10

yes! :)

the Bible is a book about Christ! His glory, His Person and His Work for His people. it's the main theme of the book.

you say it like it's an unimportant side note?
Well you’re reading into that.

I'm asking about the process of salvation. What happens to an individual as they are being saved?

Surely typing would be a type of work not allowed on the Sabbath. Oh, yes, it is prohibited.

From the 39 Categories of Sabbath Work Prohibited By Law

5. Writing (Note 19)

This includes all forms of writing and drawing.

Typing, printing, and using a rubber stamp all come under this heading.

The main objective of writing is the keeping of records, and therefore, the spirit of the law forbids any activity normally requiring a written record. Thus, the Sanhedrin forbade all sorts of business activity, as well as marriage and divorce on the Sabbath. (Note 20)

Calculations and measurements are also included, since they also normally involve writing.

Gambling and playing games of chance also are included in this category.

Sabbatarians are strange creatures, making up their own rules.

There needs to be a rebirth. We die to self Gal 2:20 (removing selfishness and sin) and be recreated in the image of God. We take on His character/image no longer living for self, but living for Christ, placing His will over own own and in doing that we become in harmony with God obeying everything that He asks through faith and love 1 John 5:3 John 14:15 Romans 3:31 and having the same faith of Jesus living as He did. Rev 14:12

This is how the Pharasees thought, adding their rules to God’s commandments, which Jesus condemned them for Mat 15:3-9 making the Sabbath about rule-keeping instead of the blessing it is meant to be . The Sabbath is about doing God’s ways Isa 58:13 and sharing God’s Word on the Sabbath, just like the apostles did evey Sabbath Acts 18:4 Acts 13:42-44, is not breaking the Sabbath commandment.

The Sabbath command was to do no work on the Sabbath day.

But it was not repeated anywhere in the NT.

For the Christian the Sabbath is about finding rest from works for salvation.

The Sabbath commandment is to keep the Sabbath day holy Exo 20:8 we rest from our works and labors so we can keep the Sabbath day holy which God deemed on the seventh day Exo 20:10 something He personally both wrote and spoke Exo 32:16 Exo 31:18 and no greater authority than He.

The Christian Sabbath is exactly how God wrote and spoke as no one has the authority to edit His commandments Deut 4:2 or change one dot or an i Mat 5:18

In God’s rests which I believe is what you are referring to we enter in through faith and those who enter His rest also cease from their works as God did from His, on the seventh day.

Hebrews 4:10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
Hebrews 4:4 For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”

In God’s rest there is no rebellion to Him or His commandments, just peace.

Isaiah 48:18
Oh, that you had heeded My commandments!
Then your peace would have been like a river,
And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

From Hebrews 10:1, 4, and 1 Corinthians 5:7
Amen! And the law they are referring to that is a shadow are animal sacrifices as they always pointed forward to Jesus who became our Sacrificial Lamb 1 Cor 5:7 so instead of killing an animal for a sin offering we can go directly to Jesus for repentance and sanctification. What did not end was the law that defines sin Romans 7:7 Mat 5:19-30 as it is what our salvation is from, not in. Mat 1:21

You are working. You also chop the law into pieces when it is a whole, which if you transgress in one part you have broken the whole.

You are as a foolish Galatian to put yourself back under the law.

Yeah Luke 4:16 does say according to his custom on the Sabbath he went to the Synagogue and read scripture. It also says the same for Paul and says the same according to his Paul's custom.

This custom, reading from the scriptures on Sabbath came to be the norm for Jews in the Babylonian captivity. Which it was still being kept by the Jews in the first century AD. Even after conversion as exampled by Paul.

Luke 4:16 places Christ in Nazareth when he kept the custom. 16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

The gospels place him in the synagogue in Galilee as well as in them in Judea. Places him out in a field as well on the sabbath. Jesus kept the Sabbath I agree he kept the law. He also kept the law for where to worship and the synagogue was not the place.

In his encounter with the Samaritan woman she says we worship on this mount, you say we have to worship in Jerusalem. Christ replied back the hour is coming when you won't worship on the mount or in Jerusalem.

Reason I am bringing this up is according to the law at the time of Christ you could only worship God in the Temple in Jerusalem.

Deuteronomy 12:1-14 reads,

1These are the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.

2Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:

3And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.

4Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God.

5But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:

6And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:

7And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.

8Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.

9For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth you.

10But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;

11Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:

12And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.

13Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou seest:

14But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.

At the time of Christ the only one authorized place that Jews could worship God was in Jerusalem at the temple. What were their worship days it was their feasts days. When they brought a sacrifice or a offering. When they made a vow. Whatever reason would have brought them to the temple they would have worshiped then and there at that time whatever day of the week it was at the only authorized place.

Or in the case of Anna since she could not eat nor could she sleep she stayed in the temple and worshipped round the clock.

If Saturday the Sabbath was the day of worship then we should find Christ and his disciples there every Sabbath in Jerusalem at the temple on the Sabbath. Christ being under the law to fulfill the law. If the law was to worship on Saturday then we would read that is just what Christ did per Deuteronomy 12.

Now God has placed his name on us and we are his temple and we can worship him any day at any time because we are the authorized place and where two or more are gathered he is in the midst of us.

So yeah Christ kept the law the law was you work for six days and keep the Sabbath Holy by not working on it. It was not ordained as a day of worship for the Jews those days would be whatever day they found themselves in the temple the only place under the law authorized to worship God.

Nor are you my judge and I also thank God for that. God's Word is clear: we are not to put ourselves back
under the law as a born again Christian, nor can you even 100% keep the law though you think you can.

Jesus is my Sabbath rest. Thank you Jesus!
